Stargazing

Rinkah always volunteers for the night shift whenever she's working on an airship. The sight of the stars from up above the clouds never fails to take her breath away.

MiqoMarch Day 15: Fav. Minion

Rinkah has had trouble sleeping for as long as she can remember. When the trendy new pet among the Ul'dahn elite was found to eat dreams, she sought one out immediately. She paid an exorbitant price for him, but Taro quickly proved worth every penny. In addition to granting her peaceful sleep, he's been a constant companion. Always happy to see her, excitedly wiggling his nose and ears as he runs to greet her at the door.

MiqoMarch Day 13: Color

Black and green are Rinkah's colors, but she'll sometimes give in to her friends insisting on adding some color to her wardrobe.

(She doesn't let Tataru dress her.)

When she needs a break, Rinkah slips away to whatever high vantage point she can get to. From up here, she can watch the ships come and go, and see all of the people milling about. It's a peaceful getaway, allowing her to be part of the city without being part of the crowd.

MiqoMarch Day 1: Introduction

Of all the things Rinkah didn't have patience for, entertaining a strange old lady was near the top of the list. She had been standing guard outside this meeting for hours now, ensuring that her client would be undisturbed. She hated the obsequious little shit, but he paid well.

"Nothing to see here. Keep moving," she said as she glared at the woman.

The woman just kept walking closer, slowly.

"That means you." Rinkah said, pointing to the "No Entry" sign on the door. As the woman crept closer, it became clear that she wasn't looking at Rinkah at all, or even the sign behind her. Her attention was directed well above her head. She regained some composure with every step she took, until she was straight-faced and standing tall directly in front of Rinkah.

"I believe I have an opportunity for you," the woman said, smiling down at her. "Come to this address if you're looking for work. Ask for Drusilla." She handed Rinkah a creased business card and backed away, staring above her the whole time.

She was definitely absolutely enchanted with this guy the first time she saw one up close, and dreamed about being able to befriend one enough to ride it.

MiqoMarch Day 2: Home

What even is home? The Shroud certainly wasn't it. She never felt like she belonged, always just different enough from the other kids to be left on the outside.

She climbed out of poverty in Ul'dah, by any means necessary. She sank her claws in and dug out a space of her own in the grimy streets, until the city itself molded to fit around her.

She found camaraderie in Limsa, kindred spirits in the pursuit of freedom. The salt air and bustling sounds of the docks feel right. A city more alive than she feels herself most days.

She put down roots in La Noscea. A rough little cabin, mostly filled with knickknacks gathered from her travels. Rynn spends more time there than she does, taking care of the place between his own jobs. But occasionally, the stars align and her chosen family can all get together, and she thinks she might know what home feels like.

Got home today so I was able to do this, finally. Auri Rin was a nightmare to work out, but she turned out okay I think. Lala Rin is absolute perfection. I think my favorites overall are the lala and viera.

MiqoMarch Day 14: Dark

Rinkah is at home in the dark. She learned to use the shadows to disappear when she was just a child, a talent that helped her get by on the streets of Ul'dah. Whether she's pickpocketing drunken merchants or stalking a target, she does her best work in the dark.

MiqoMarch Day 16: Twilight

Twilight is her favorite time of day, by far. She loves watching the city come alive in the dark. The lanterns begin to alight, and the streets fill with workers, done for the day and looking to unwind.

The FFXIV Swap Discord has a “prompt of the day” bot now, and today’s was “beach.” So I collected all of my sleepy beach Rinkah pics. These were not from close together chronologically, I apparently just immediately go to “warm nap” when I think about what she’d be doing at the beach. (it’s also what I would be doing at the beach)
