sigh. maybe i don't like she-ra after all
#man. returning to it after a few years has been both joyful and painful#i still love so much about it#but goddamnit its another steven universe#the execution was so fucked in s5#its official im gonna write some kind of fix-it/alternate universe/rewrite fic#because i cannot take this anymore#why do all of my favorite cartoons always disappoint me. why god why#its like i watch them. i enjoy them. i get a bad feeling about them. i rewatch them. i find several dozen things i hate#and it hurts every time because every time its a show that i loved. adored even. a show that was formative for me#or at least influential on my being#it would be so easy to just be a steven universe or she ra hater#but i loved those shows first#and i loved them hard#so the betrayal of my expectations hurts twice as bad as something i didnt care about#rise of skywalker was absolute trash but tbh i didnt even care because i didnt care about it#i can be an easy hater there#not for these shows though#and i still love the both of them. somwhere deep down inside of me#or whatever#anyway
