DEBBIE FRIEDMAN WAS A LESBIAN? I learned something beautiful today.

YUP. She kept it pretty quiet during her lifetime because A) she didn’t want more lower-c-conservative synagogues to stop playing her music, and B) she thought other LGBT Jews in her circles were doing a good job at speaking up for LGBT issues and personally wanted to focus more on God and music. But she was out to family and friends, and it was something of an open secret in some Jewish circles. this article published after her death talks about her perspective.

and @hockeydilf who is probably the funniest mutual i have and who i love greatly
