OOooooh this was the wrong thing to ask me if you hate lots of letters on your screen. Get ready!!!!!! Here's my list :-) Its not organized by least to most btw im just typing everything i like lol :

puppetification theory.. AAUUUGHHH!!!!! this one is so much fun for so many reasons.

he's got a BJD (ball jointed doll) body

He's kinda an asshole

While a good chunk of his glitching is from puppetification, way more of it is from malware he's collected over like 20 years on the streets of cyber city

He absolutely feels and is aware of his glitches but he's so used to them it doesnt really bother him anymore. scratch that, it 100% does bother him that his body is actively defying him. but what can you do? :shrug:

he's like 5'1. I HATE HATE HATE seeing him the size of a toddler both because you can literally see his world sprite is the same height as kris, which is a teenager (His proportions just are unbelievably fucked up because of puppetification) and because thats just kinda weird. Something about making him so so small feels weird to me but im not sure, really. take it with a grain of salt.

He was an Email Addison. You see it everywhere. He was like a mailman or something.

He wasnt like four foot or something throuhghout his whole life, but i do imagine he was only slightly smaller than an Addison, which doesnt sound that bad except when you realize everyone else is normal height except him. Maybe it was a manufacutring bug, or maybe it was intentional for his job.

Addisons are like weird organic robots kinda. Cause everything in cyber city is made of code i imagine they are like basically sentient AI.

They (addisons) physically do not age unless their code is damaged. (Guess who's code is fucked up) They were "born" physically and half-mentally adults, and count their age based on their manufacturing date. I say mentally half because it quickly develops soon after while they do things like advertise. Their personality develops a time after.

HE IS OLD!!!!!!! HE'S AN OLD GUY!! HES GOT LITTLE WRINKLES N SHIT!!! HES GOT A GREY STRIPE!!!!!! Not really because of physical aging but its more of like a glitch tbh lol. Like a chunk glitch in minecraft. Whatever happened as his code got progressively more beat up caused a patch of his hair to register incorrectly and show up slightly wrong.

His hair is natrually white. He dyed it in his big shot era ofc, but it faded out. He keeps it colored currently with car oil and shit. Whatever he can find that will color it. It will and does wash out partially when he's drenched in the rain.

He completely refuses to acknowledge his physical changes. Glimpses he sees he ignores or passes it off as he's seeing things.

He prayed to the Neo robot because he saw the beginning of puppetification. He was praying for forgiveness or another chance. He believed it was a divine punishment because he had no other explination. He doesnt believe he changed much more than the very very early stages, and he thinks he's forgiven in his delusion. Which is why he wants the robot so bad.

When he gets mad he turns kinda red and steam comes out the side of his head in short bursts, train whistle sound effects and all. looney tunes type junk.

He has lips... but they're stretched so far because of his huge fucking brick ass teeth that it doesnt really matter at that point.

He's got a scraggly ass mullet.

he has little bitty dot eyes. Every other addison does too but they keep them closed for visual appeal. Theyre robots and shit they dont really need them to get around, even though they help a lot.

Captains Log 32_ Why Secondlife?

I just finished listening to the incredible Wall Street Journal podcast on Secondlife and How to build a metaverse and I must say, it was the best podcast I have ever listened to. Even bae listened to me and we both had the same feeling we get when we binge watch our favorite show. We we’re thoroughly intrigued and entertained by each episode. I think I can speak  for us both when I say it inspired us and motivated us to  continue in the pursuit of our SL lives and creative interests in the metaverse! We have been exploring sooo much lately and a lot of it has just been organic and intuitive which has made it all the more synchronistic!

There’s an episode that highlights the idea that SL is for a certain kind of person. I had literally been saying that to Wav earlier. I’ve noticed many residents have some philosophical worldviews that differ from their peers in their locale... are creative and intelligent people who are curious and have open imaginations! I have felt more excited and prepared to share SL with my RL circle more these days too and someone has reached out and I’ll be showing them around next week! I am excited and also I feel almost like SL is my baby now too... I am so sensitive to it. I felt myself crying and sad during the parts of the podcast that were hard to hear about how efforts did not get well received but also very hopeful. I just see a vision where SL could have a rebirth in a sense, where it never died but it can regain those 20k users. I see it! Itll be a thing. 

Where the new metaworlds are failing SL has and always will thrive and become even better at.

So I had a random issue last week where my inventory wasnt fully loading so I went to this random sim that I saw on the Firestorm page that is said to be a place where everything reloads if it wont because theres like zero lag there. So I go there and go through the troubleshooting in a sandbox. boom. Its done.

My curios exploring self, I am always just looking at the map and clicking and teleporting places. . . now I know some people dont like this. . . some people feel that is bad ettiquette to randomly TP in somewhere and I am aware. But my intentions are always pure and I feel its better to apologize or just get kicked. I HAVE to know. XD now, if I see its a sex sim or homestead something of that sort I do not just openly go and invade people’s privacy. Thats not cool. I am very intuitive and psychic about the whole thing lol. So anyway I tp over from the sandbox and this place is what I find..

It was like an ancient abandoned ruins. It felt haunted almost... ngl. This was a place that was an office to the Lindens. Or at least it felt like a “was”. Maybe still is but everything inside was made of prims and just felt like it was left behind. (I feel badly if this is an active office because im just flaming tf out of it rn im sorry lol) It was all dark inside too... it really just felt ghostly. But either way it was super cool I got a free bear! I am now obsessed with finding these linden bears knowing that they are a “thing”. I randomly found my first one on a boating trip (see blog post here) little did I know it was the beginning to a collectors story arc.

So I snooped all the offices because I was looking to see if anymore free bears were being gifted lols. I guess thats greedy af of me but I love them! XD What I did find were beautiful memories of the beginnings of Secondlife. This was also about a week before the podcast came out too! So everything just unfolding like a beautiful movie to me.

This was in one of the offices, it is dated OCT-NOV 2002 It is the first map of SL. Its pretty amazing how they started with this, and now there's this seemingly limitless world that's bloomed from it. I just got goosebumps when I walked through the offices because I could just feel like... the energy behind it.

Some things it reminded me of:

- In the movie w tyra banks where she plays a doll, theres a part where she goes back to the studio where they shot all her promo videos which she as a doll remembers as her home. Its dimly lit and the sets are colorful and fantastic. Thats what walking in this office felt like....

-  In anastasia when she is revisiting her childhood palace and is seeing ghosts dancing around the room and remembering her past I felt like i could see how they were getting their offices together, working out the lay of the land anticipating newcomers...making bears

Theres me and bear and I guess meetings were/are held here still? Idk!

This is Leo Lindens Office, I looked to find more information about him and who he was and how exactly he contributed but I couldn’t find much. He worked at linden labs in 2007. I got a copy of his commemorative plaque which is now sitting in my garage.

Making out in a dank ass library at a place we found through someones profile (those are always the best) my profile pics are not destination heavy as much as they are edgy little things that I just HAD to say. Basically im one of those people who turned their profile into another blog.

I love classic dank libraries. I LIVE for them in RL and SL. It is a wonder I have not built my own library yet, but there is plenty of time for that!! *Adds to list of thousand and 5 things to do*

Big tings coming! Ras and Gigi are the dopest i’ll say it everytime I see em.  It was super nice to meet with the Meroe team to chop things up and get on board with the next wave for the movement. Im living for this experience and it is just helping me in my RL to gain more perspective and confidence with my personal goals and purpose in life. But the best part is how schedules and things align perfectly to just flow together. Thats divine alignment and you just cant beat it! Alhamdoulilah! \o/

Ascella is such a sweetheart shes what I know to be as the first Meroe volunteer, shes always so gracious with me and I love that. Lol why is my face always lookin like that?? IDK but I can assure you nothing is wrong I am so delighted ! XD

We have been little by little checking out some of the Oct SL events, especially moreso since we’ve been listening to the podast. Its like, hearing them speak on how much work and excitement and heart goes into the events and things they put out for us in SL made us want to participate more. So glad we are too because everything has been super fun and enjoyable. Its hilarious how we actually get spooked by some things too. We accidentally spend a whole night on the sidewalks of Bellissario or whatever its called. And I also was thinking, if it was instantly so popular, why not make more little suburbs like it? Even though it was “sold out” there were a lot of empty homes still.

We frequent our favorite dispensary “Eaze” nowadays and the Bud Hud is pretty amazing. We have jars of joints all over the house and we love to smoke in SL and RL at the same time its one of those random satisfying things....I feel like i’ve written about this place before but here I am writing about it again. Soul’s dispensary is just super nice it feels like the ones here where I live and I love how the products and everything look inside. Its just small quaint and vibey.

Found this random platform of linden bears and a DJ Bear... Its like these bears are calling to me I swear... ever since the first one.. But pay attention to these two in this pic, this is going to lead me into a series of potentially problematic things I see in SL. I thought these bears were going to be black or brown when they were grey and loading because all I could see was a Fez and some Timbs... So im like ohhh shit these bears are brothas! but then they finally load and they aint. Its a shiner and Idk what the other bear got going on. lmao. That was hilarious to me. XD

Us <3 I sat here with them ALL day while we did stuff in RL, it was lovely. Sometimes I feel like our avies are alive lol.

I got Yemi a new onesie it reminds me of my first halloween I was a pumpkin. :)

We went to this great hunt experience by Baroqued Japonica called Kohaku No Shizuku. It was a wonderful story that was put into a full game that had a hud system attached. It was wordy but we still got a good understanding of the story and completed the full experience together. It was really well made and impressive to say the least. I think it should be less wordy next time but I love to read and I love a good story and I also love how they made the book look with the illustrative photos. It was very well made and so I read it. The creator made the story too I have to say BIG UPS for real its incredibly creative! At the end we got all these amazing wonderful gifts that I am still unpacking! Bae wanted me to get a pic of him jumping off this tower. We got really into jumping and the controls after visited the infamous Beanstalk, one of the first tallest things ever made in SL. We started to climb up the beanstalk and got maybe 1/4 of the way up before falling. In the end we traveled by bubble. But we got the hops now!

Well damn this is long, iff anyone makes it down here... why I am still on secondlife? It is probably the same answer you will here from most of us who “get it” its a place I can be with my man who is long distance right now and a place where I get to continue practicing this new evolution of self coming out of saturn return where I am a boss, assertive and manifesting big dreams. I wanna do it twice over and then a third time in the astral! & I am always learning and theres so much history and things to learn in SL. So much to learn about people too.. Okay now I’ve said enough! lol

Do you want to change your name: Because my name is a “legitimate” Asian one, I’ve often used to wonder if I should change it to an English one, or at least get a more Americanized nickname. But by now having gone through 20+ years of life with my original Asian name, I’ve come to appreciate its beauty and unique-ness, kind of like how you grow to love and accept body features that you might not have been too happy with when you were younger. I don’t really have a problem with people mispronouncing my name, as long as I can tell they’re putting the effort in to try to say it correctly. I’m actually very interested in how different people choose to pronounce my name upon first try (so at the beginning of the semester, one of my professors asked us to tell her in advance how our names were pronounced if they had a difficult pronunciation so that she wouldn’t embarrass anybody when she called roll. Idk if it was rude, but I didn’t raise my hand :p I was just really curious to see how she would pronounce it lol.).

Love at first sight: If you mean by like, a suddenly instant infatuation or attraction to someone, whether physical or through what they do, then sure. But I don’t think “true love” really develops with someone until you’ve gotten to know that person and their personality, likes/dislikes, quirks, etc. first. Once you really get to know a person, then I think true love can develop/exist.

Miracles: Yes. I am a Christian, so I do believe that miracles exist, from large to small, even in this day and age.

Heaven: Yes. Again, because I am a Christian, I do believe Heaven exists. I also believe in a Hell and God.

Lisa from Florida, type 3, writes:I'm a mother of a 14-year old girl with type 1 diabetes. Our healthcare system is truly unraveling because of Big Pharma and insurance companies. I fear for my daughter's future because of it (and remain pessimistic that a cure will ever come because of the huge profits that come with diabetes treatment). So why can't we at least lobby for generic insulin that would be affordable to all? With numbers of diabetes growing so big, we would be a mighty force to reckon with!

Wil@Ask D'Mine answers: Well, as to the cure, let me tell you my favorite scary Halloween story: The cure for diabetes probably has been found, no less than 13 times, even... So why on earth haven't we heard about it? Why the @#$%& are we all still shooting up insulin?

I can just picture the scene: John Q. Researcher, PhD, has just finished writing up his diabetes cure results and has emailed them to the New England Journal of Medicine. He has a good heart, but visions of glory and fame dance across the insides of his eyelids when closes his eyes. Then the phone rings. The Nobel Prize Committee would like to talk to him about his findings.

He can't believe his good luck as a jet-black stretch limo pulls up outside his ivory tower. The driver, in a black trench coat and mirrored sunglasses, holds the door open for him. In the back, an open bottle of champagne awaits. Oh, along with some... you know... overly-large-breasted party favors.

But after the limo whisks Dr. Researcher out of the city, something seems amiss. The airport is the other way. What's going on? The city falls behind as the limo roars out into the empty countryside. Dr. R is starting to get a little antsy, a little sweaty, but the bimbos pour him another glass of bubbly...

And suddenly the limo pulls sharply off the main highway and barrels down a dirt road. The sky is darkening now. A flash of lighting streaks across the horizon. The wind picks up and dry leaves blow and scatter in the wake of the limo.

Something is definitely wrong. Dr. R reaches for the door handle and finds it's been removed. He can't get out of the limo. There's no escape. He's trapped.

Dr. R has a date with the grim pharma reaper.

Yes, 13 times diabetes has been cured. And 13 times the researchers have been driven out and "deposited" into a corn field, and their research burned.

BOO!!!

OK, so I don't really believe that, but there're probably people who do. The real fact is that it's damn hard to come up with a cure for a disease when you can't even figure out what causes the frickin' disease in the first place. And thus far, the cause of your daughter's diabetes is rather ghost-like. Sometimes, during a full moon, researchers think they can see it... but then...

Money aside, trust me, a lot of good-hearted people are hard at work on a cure. Even so, I'm pessimistic that it will come soon, too. I don't blame greed for the lack of progress. I just think the obstacles are too large to overcome anytime soon.

I also think pessimism can be good medicine for our diabetes. If we live our lives like there will be a cure tomorrow, we'll be careless with our health, and pay a very high price indeed. If we live our lives like there will never be a cure, the worst that can happen is we'll be pleasantly surprised. And on that day I'll meet you and your daughter, along with the rest of the gang, down at the Krispy Kreme. Oh, and then I'll need to look for a new job. (I kinda think that under the circumstances, I'll have a hard time getting too upset about that.)

But you're right, there's a lot of money to be made on diabetes, and thank God for that. I bet you think I hit the bottle early today, huh? Nope. Here's how I run the math. Think how much more money Big Pharma can make if they can extend my life just one year. In just one year, think how many more test strips, how much more insulin, how many more CGM sensors, and how many more infusion sets I'll use. Oh, and it gets better. Just think how much more money they'll make if they can extend my life by five years? Or by a decade?

I'm a frickin' gold mine.

But guess what? While they're mining all that gold, I'm alive for my son. So you gotta keep these things in perspective.

As to lobbying for generic insulin... well, more on lobbying in a minute, but let me talk about insulin first. When a medicine goes generic, the formula becomes public knowledge. Yep, it would be just like if you could look up the Colonel's secret recipe on the internet. But making insulin is a lot harder than making fried chicken. Now I don't know exactly how much it costs to build an insulin manufacturing plant, but I'm pretty sure it's a long number with a lot of commas and zeros in it. Frankly, anyone who built an insulin plant to sell generic insulin would never recoup their investment. And actually, we kinda sorta have generic insulin already. The Wal-Mart ReliOn insulins are out-of-patent formulations that sell for about a quarter of the cost of the fancy-pants stuff we all prefer. (btw, it's made by Eli Lilly.)

Now, I loved your image of people with diabetes as a mighty force to reckon with. Let's think about that for a minute. The United Auto Workers have around a million members and have been known to make a few congressmen tremble in their boots (disclaimer: I'm a card-carrying member of the National Writers Union, which is actually part of the UAW). What're some other influential groups in our county? Oh, the National Rifle Association comes to mind, they have a little bit of political clout with around four million members.

But the official number of persons with diabetes this year is 25.8 million. If we voted with one voice we'd be second only to AARP (with their 40 million members) when it comes to political power and clout. A million-man march would look like a Sunday picnic compared to a 25-million diabetic march, don't you think?

And if we actually organized, and spoke, and voted, with one voice, we could practically be the only game in town—for two reasons. First, in 2010 around 90 million Americans turned out to the polls to vote. So, in theory, we could be about a quarter of the voting population. Oh, and if our loved ones also came to the polls with us, we could command half the vote. Or more.

And second, our cause, if narrowly focused on a limited number of diabetes-specific issues, is non-partisan. That's how Prohibition got passed in the

'20s. It was some groups that wanted the election focused on Prohibition and Prohibition alone. They supported politicians of both parties who favored the issue and they voted out anyone of either party who got in their way. I hate to compare the diabetes cause to anything as crazy as Prohibition, but if a freedom-loving country like ours was once taken over by a small group of highly focused fanatic people in this way, we could take a page from their playbook.

Maybe this Halloween, it's time to transfer some fear: from us to the people in Washington, D.C.
