pairings - Cobra Kai characters x you/non-binary reader

kg's notes - i just wanted to make something that was cute, fun, and overall a new layout of how I would present my headcanons. so here are the Cobra Kai characters sharing their favourite sweets with you, because they love you!

Demetri Alexopoulos - he would really love to share a Whatchamacallit or Cherry airhead with you and tear off small pieces and feed them to you. he goes from doing that to having it in his mouth to 'feed' you like that when you know the truth is he wants a kiss from you which you happily accept with chocolate on your face from the Whatchamacallit.

Miguel Diaz - he would love lots of Spanish candy and would tend to bring you back a lot of it, especially since he makes frequent trips to Mexico to visit family. the different varieties and textures make you both excited (and nervous) to try them and he'll make sure to take note of which candies you prefer so the two of you can enjoy them together, even if some of them aren't in his personal preferences but he likes seeing you happy.

Robby Keene - he's definitely spicier than anything actually sweet, but he tries to get something not so spicy for you to try, which makes you scoff and say you could handle it. he looks at you funny knowing that you're either lying to him or telling him the truth, either way he's intrigued about how motivated you are to try his "spicy" candies. if he doesn't eat candy he shares the corn nuts with you and you say the ranch flavor is your favourite.

Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz - he's the type who really appreciates sour candy and if you don't like it he's willing to share his dark chocolate with you. he wasn't raised eating candy, so you two would share a slice of fruit like: watermelon, apple, orange, or whatever kind he has in his pantry the moment. you actually started his love of chocolate (he would never admit this to your face but he would tell Demetri and Anthony) after telling him to get you some during your period since it helped you with the cramps, even though he retorted with a banana when you asked for the chocolate.

Anthony LaRusso - he would get the little variety packs like Kit Kats, Buenos, or anything chocolate related. he's not a big fan of regular-sized or larger chocolate (like King-size Hershey bars), since it now makes him uncomfortable to eat so much chocolate again. he would unwrap it and feed it to you instead of allowing you to make it yourself, although he would only allow you to take a couple of pieces of chocolate before hiding it in his room. he got better at hiding candy because you were sneaking around while he was trying to hide it once.

Samantha "Sam" LaRusso - similarly to Eli, she would rather eat fruit than real candy, but she sometimes eats real candy and it normally comes from Italy instead of here, America. she's not a fan of chewy or gummy candy, so the cappuccino candy she likes comes as a hard candy to make it last longer, plus she says it's better than the coffee you might get at a coffee shop. you're on the fence about that. it's not your favorite thing while it's hers and you offered her yours to see if she would like it and that is to be determined…

Tory Nichols - she's used to sharing a lot of things especially with her brother (Brandon) because that's all she knows, so it's no surprise when she offers you pieces of her chocolate. she's more on the bitter side of things like something rich—an espresso or a cappuccino if you will for her chocolate, although there are rare times when she would eat Sour Patch Kids or Jolly Ranchers (blue raspberry and watermelon are her favorite flavorus).

[I will add Kenny, Shawn, Aisha, and the adults depending on how well this does and I still need to finish my fic and the last two suggestions in my drafts right now]

Thoughts on GotG #4

It’s far from perfect but I liked it. Juan Cabbal’s layouts are interesting and creative and it’s something I love seeing in a comic because usually we just get static boring panels and cut and paste scenes. But the transitions from panel to panel and page to page were good. Like the scene with the planet and Rich’s scarred chest, the scenes with Noh-Varr making his mind known to Rich, or pretty much everything to do with Noh-Varr. The pages between the two Moondragons. I’m not to keen on how Juan Cabbal draws Peter, Noh-Varr and Rocket but his Rich is gorgeous and his Phyla is beyond hot.

I know these 2 issue arcs are pretty short and while I would at the least make them 4 issues long I do appreciate that Ewing is not dragging the whole story to a 6 or 12 issue arc where nothing of note happens for like 4 issues and I forget what the story was about because of how long it is. I really hate the unnecessary “wide-screen” decompression style with modern comics because writers tend to be lazy with it and I don’t think they work well outside of completed Graphic novels.

As for story and characters: Rich has woken up and he’s already feeling guilt about Peter’s death and he keeps being paranoid about the shit hitting the fan on this new mission and keeps warning everyone about taking precautions and how things can go wrong. Also the panel where he reminds everyone to “Ask Peter” and Rocket thinks Rich is blaming him for Peter’s death says a lot. Rich clearly blames himself (Ewing already confirmed it) for asking him for help but Rocket also blames himself for not being able to save him.

That scene with the spine implant also reminded me of that time Rich has the United Front bombard him in Annihilation and you find out through the narrative that he lost his right leg because he’s in a hospital with a medic growing said leg while Peter debriefs him.

I also liked seeing Rich take on a more leader role and calling the shots even from the pink bacta tank like thing. He’s probably frustrated that he can’t go with the others but I liked seeing him in a leadership role. Rich can be a good leader but he's not always the best teammate and prefers to do things solo and with Peter’s death and him constantly reminding everyone of how things can go wrong you can see why. As a matter in fact him being benched is why he’s asking the others to answer the distress call and it’s probably frustrating to him.

In the latest interview with Ewing that I posted he said Rich was benches in this mission but it remains to be seen if he will put himself “back on the meat grinder” or take things easy but honestly I don’t think he can take it easy considering how the Galaxy is. I don’t see him taking it easy at least until positive things start happening to him, so Peter definitely has to come back and he needs to have some resolution with what happened with Robbie (which I’m still wondering when they’re going to resolve that stuff).

The scenes with Phyla and Rocket being the distraction were fun, it also had a reference to the GotG movies without being obnoxious. Other things I liked in those panels was seeing a kite flying a human and “Rum the Space Knight”.

Noh-Varr’s panels were probably my favorite because his powers are just so WTF and weird and I like that Ewing is taking that character back to his Morrison roots after everyone else forgot that aspect of him. I already talked about how much I liked the art in this comic and the best was with Noh-Varr.

The Rick Jones/Captain Marvel switch that Noh-varr does with Herc was also pretty cool, it’s been awhile since we seen characters do that.

Also I just realized Rich has been in three teams with three Marvel Boys.

Gamora still isn’t thinking Peter’s death well (and I think she also has to come to terms that Peter chose to do what he did and that he didn’t want to settle down but I also think her anger is valid because he went behind her back to the mission so there’s a lot she and Peter have to talk about when he gets back), I just loved how friendly and kind Herc was towards her and I hope it wasn’t for anything. I’m liking Herc in this comic and I hope he stays as a Guardians.

Also Alt Heather vs 616 Heather and the fricking Dragon of the Moon is back oh boy. 616 Heather has always been such a complex character but she was also an awful, awful,( and I cannot stress this word enough) awful person who had to hit rock bottom and face the consequences of her actions to get to the point that she is now. Her facing a much more heroic version of her who is married to a perfect and heroic version of our Phyla is definitely messing her up. But still no matter how both Alt Phyla and Alt Heather are growing on me I still like 616 Heather and Phyla better and I want to see 616 Phyla back.

Oh yeah there was also that Prince of Power guy, I guess that’s a new character I don’t know what’s up with him.

So yeah that’s about everything I guess.

Van Helsing vs. The League of Monsters #1 Zenescope Entertainment 2020 Written by Raven Gregory Illustrated by Deivis Coetten Coloured by Robby Bevard Lettered by Taylor Esposito of Ghost Glyph Studios     Part 1 of 6     Van Helsing is still reeling from the revelations of recent events after her world came crashing down around her. But she won’t have time to catch her breath as something catastrophic is heading her way. Will she be able to handle some of the deadliest creatures in all existence? Alone any of these would be formidable foes, and Liesel will have the ultimate challenge laid before her, with taking them on all at once. The odds are not in her favour, and it doesn’t look good for the legendary vampire hunter.     I am such a fan of this franchise and I have said this repeatedly. I love the direction that Raven is taking this in and then again how he's keeping one arc leading into the next so that they could be stand alone arcs a well as the continuing story, of Another World, for the continuity of regular ongoing series. This is for new fans and stalwart ones and the way that this is written is utterly fantastic.     This is kind of what I was hoping for elsewhere so seeing this gets my hopes up. So Dracula is resurrected by his daughter, see last arc, and they all realise that alone they have no hope of taking out Liesel. I love this for a myriad of reasons but chief among them is the fact that she's feared and seen as a formidable opponent. Now I find it incredibly interesting where this Maximum Security Global Threat Institution is located. My only wish was we get to see who else was there, I mean all this isn't for one person and I wonder if anyone else was let free. Raven does a great job here in showcasing the different personalities and the animosity of one against another while still making the enemy of my enemy a real deal. It isn't the bad guys either there is a great mix of other characters being shown as well.     The way this is being told is awesome. The story & plot development we see through how the sequence of events unfold and how the reader learns information is beautifully presented. There are several segments featuring different sets of characters and the flow of this doesn't skip a beat once. Raven shows us why he's such a talented writer with the way the book is structured. The character development is sensational. I like how we see and understand who they are while leaving room for them to anticipate and react to situations and circumstances yet to come. The pacing is great and as it takes us through the pages revealing the twists and turns along they it works with everything else to create the books ebb & flow which in itself is impressive.     The interiors are really nice to see. The linework is solid and how the varying weights are bing utilised to bring out the attention to detail we see is well rendered. One thing though what's up with the empty picture frames, it looks well stupid to put it bluntly. If you are going to take the time to make them then you've got time to put something in them and if you don't use a computer to add images. Speaking of backgrounds what's up with seeing Liesel in silhouette against a blue background? Don't use props in some panels and then decide to leave them out of others, to me that's just lazy. Now the tone of the book is pure classic comics and that I really like. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a decent eye for storytelling. The colour here is impressive to me. The gradation of the colour utilising the hues and tone within them is extremely well done. Also that we see this nice ranges of variation in the dark is more impressive so job extremely well done. ​     God I love this, it is exciting and has this feeling of something epic coming into being. It is like the villains of Zenescope forming their own Legion of Doom and it doesn't feel like a rip-off or a copycat idea it feels like this is how this world is naturally heading towards. While the women, and there really are hardly any men though I want a gay male hero, are as keen as working in a group the team-ups are rather regular. Zenescope is a force to be reckoned in the super-hero genre these days and it's about time everyone sits up and takes notice.
