With my favorite WSO good ol' Baby On Board (Sorry Fanboy)
I see you, and I raise you Bob Floyd with the Admirals Daughter.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bob had been freaking the fuck out ever since he’d gotten the call from the county hospital that you’d been admitted. The worst part about knowing you were in the hospital was the fact he couldn’t just up and leave in the middle of a tactical response seminar. But the second he was finished? The second Mav had stopped talking and dismissed the group of Elite Naval Aviators that sat before him, Bob was racing off down the hall, collecting his keys from his locker and making a rush to the county hospital across town.
Because of course they couldn’t take you to the Base Hospital could they? No—that would’ve been too easy.
“You have a patient here, Y/n Y/l/n—what room is she in?” There were two things about Robert Floyd that still seemed to shock people when they figured him out.
“Miss Y/l/n, is resting and—“ Bob didn’t let the nurse sitting at the nurses station finish her sentence.
“I asked what room she’s in.” The first thing that seemed to shock people about Bob was that he lost all sense of politeness and rationality when the people he cared about were in pain or in any kind of danger. Phoenix found that out one night at the Hard Deck when some guy touched her ass. Robert Floyd, who at that point had shown no sign of aggression or intention to ever engage in any sort of physical contact, stood up after he finished his last sip of lemon lime bitters and threw the hardest right hook he could.
“As I was saying, she can’t have any visitors.” Bob didn’t like that response at all as the nurse went back to her paperwork.
“Listen to me—“ The second thing about Robert ‘Bob’ Floyd that shocked people when they finally connected the dots, was that he was dating none other than Admiral Beau Simpson's daughter and had been doing so for a number of years before he even crossed paths with Cyclone at Miramar. “I’m gonna ask you one more time—“ But Bob already knew Cyclone from the many dinners he’d been over for during holiday seasons and family get-togethers. It didn’t however change the hostility the pair shared. “What room is my girlfriend in—“ Because there was something Bob hadn’t done yet that your father thought he should have done by now if he was serious about his baby girl.
Bob hadn’t Proposed.
“Floyd.” Cyclone called out from down the hall as Bob turned in the direction your fathers voice had come from. “She’s in room 1024.” Bob waisted not a second of time as he made his way towards your dad.
“You’ve seen her?”
“It’s locked.”
“I don’t care—“ You were Bob's entire world, his best friend, the love of his life, his better half. “I need to see her.” As Bob tried to push past your dad, Cyclone put his hand on Bob's shoulder, catching his attention and stopping him from taking another step forward.
“What are you gonna do kid? Are you gonna break the door down?”
“Yeah—“ Bob nodded as he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. “If I have to.” All Beau did in response was let his hopefully one day soon son in law go, watching as he made a direct line towards your hospital room.
“I spoke to the doctors, they said she fainted at school but she’s fine Robert.”
“If she fainted then she isn’t alright now is she!?” Bob spat back at your dad as he continued down the hall. Cyclone stayed hot on his tail.
“They said she’s run down and a little dehydrated but she’s okay.”
“Alright so then why won’t they let anyone see her?” Bob asked as he stopped in his stride and turned back to Cyclone who looked just as worried as Bob.
“Because she’s sleeping, she needs it.” Bob knew better than anyone how hard you’d been overworking yourself. Between working full time and studying you were spread pretty thin. Bob thought you needed to take a step back, he saw the way you had been neglecting your own health in order to fit study into your already jam packed schedule. “Bob, she’s fine.” Bob let out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding in ever since he got the call you’d been taken to hospital. “She’s gonna be okay kid.”
“What are you even doing here?” Bob questioned your dad as he ran his hands through his hair.
“I’m one of her emergency contacts, they called me.”
“Yeah I know that but—“ Bob didn’t mean to sound rude, he was just stating the obvious. Beau Simpson had never been an overly passionate father figure. And it seemed as though Beau caught onto what his somewhat son in law had been insinuating.
“You mean what’s a heartless shithead like me doing in a place like this?”
“Yeah something like that.” Bob replied, was he proud of himself? No not really, but he knew his point had been made.
“I would’ve come for you too if you ever worked hard enough to pass out.” Cyclone tapped Bob's shoulder as he smiled softly. “But you never have.” Bob chuckled softly too as both men saw a nurse stepping out of your room, gesturing that they could enter if they wanted to. “You go, I’m sure she wants to see you before anyone else.
“Thanks Sir.” Bob replied as he nodded and pressed his lips together. “Thank you for caring about her enough to come.” Bob left it at that, not quite hearing what Admiral Sysmpison said under his breath.
“You too son, you too.”
***~***~***~***~***~***~***~
The next day after Bob had admittedly refused to leave your side overnight, you were both getting home to an empty house that had been left unattended overnight.
However, as you slept soundly while Bob kept a watchful eye on you, he asked Fanboy and Phoenix if it wasn’t too much trouble, if they could swing by and just spruce the place up a little bit.
They did without hesitation because they knew if there were still things that needed to be done around the home you and Bob shared, you truly wouldn’t be able to rest. And all you needed right now was rest. And plenty of it.
“Alright so here’s what you’re gonna do.” Bob cooed as he cupped your face and pulled you close the moment you both stepped through the threshold of your humble abode. “You’re gonna go upstairs and take a long, hot shower and relax while I cook us some food.”
“I can help you cook.” You tried to argue but the look you got from your boyfriend in return was enough to tell you that he was serious about you doing nothing. “Alright alright, I’ll be in the shower.”
“When you're done it’s straight into pyjamas, no ifs or buts.” Bob shouted after you as you walked up the stairs. You were so thankful to have Bob, someone who cared enough about you to want to take care of you and tell you to slow the hell down. You thought you were fine until you weren’t fine. Which was why Bob felt it was important and absolutely critical that he stayed home with you for a day or two to make sure you weren’t going to start back up into the almost psychotic routine you’d been putting yourself through to fit everything in.
“Okay so I know you aren’t sick but I also know you can’t be feeling too crash hot so—“ Bob cooed as he opened the bedroom door a little wider with his foot to see you getting ready to hop into bed. “I thought chicken soup and toast might be good.” Bob explained as he padded across the bedroom, carrying two bowls of delicious soup on a tray.
“Is that your mum's chicken soup?” You asked curiously as the smell captivated your senses as Bob moved closer. “Oh god it smells so good.” Bob was as careful as he could be as he sat down beside you in bed, holding the tray he’d brought in with two bowls of soup and buttered toast to go with.
“I didn’t have time to make it from scratch so I just got some out of the deep freeze.” You really did love Robert Floyd, and for what it was worth you’d say yes in a heartbeat if he ever did ask you to marry him. But it was something you weren’t too pressed about—you were just happy to enjoy the moments you had with him. “But here, we’re gonna sit down and we’re gonna eat this soup and we’re gonna watch Shameless because I know that you’ve been needing to find the time to finish it and now a time has presented itself.” Bob babbled as he passed you your bowl and took his own as he expertly manoeuvred his legs under the covers. “Don’t argue either.”
“I feel fine, I promise—“ You tried to argue anyway as you blew on your spoon full of soup, sending Bob the biggest puppy dog eyes you could conjure up. “But this is perfect, thank you for this.”
“Anytime.” Bob leaned in to kiss your cheek before the pair of you settled in for an afternoon in bed binge watching Shameless and trying to not think about the copious amounts of studying you had and the fact you had to miss work. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
***~***~***~***~***~***~***~**
2am rolled around a hell of a lot quicker than it normally did. Maybe it was because you and Bob had spent the majority of the afternoon in bed together or perhaps it was the fact that after your bowl of Bob's mum's chicken noodle soup, you felt a weight had been lifted off your shoulders. Blissfully drowsy in a love filled embrace you snuggled into the warmth of Bob's exposed chest as he wrapped you into him, half dazed and sleeping.
“I could stay like this forever.” You mumbled as you tried to get yourself back to sleep. Bob had always been a little sleeper. So much so it felt like sometimes he was always alert to what was going on around him, especially you. “But I know reality is chewing on our heels.”
“You're stuck with me, like it or not.” Bob cooed as he pulled you in closer. “I took the next few days off to just be with you.” He explained, knowing that in the next day or two he was going to finally ask you to marry him. “So, reality is gonna have to wait, miss overachiever, because you're stuck with me.”
Smiling into Bob's armpit, you beamed at the thought. Damn, he really cared huh.
“I don’t think that sounds all that awful at all baby.”

San Diego, the sunniest and probably the warmest place on earth. You had just arrived and stepped out of your car in sunny San Diego. You loved it already and would continue to love it for the whole time you would be living there. The reason you were here was because you wanted to see your childhood friend, Jake Seresin, and you would be moving here after a wonderful job opportunity at none other than Top Gun. No, you weren’t a pilot but you were going to be the new maintenance supervisor for the F-18s. You were excited to say the least. You didn’t have a lot of stuff due to moving around. You needed a place to stay and quickly since you started tomorrow. First you needed to get to base and say hi to your bosses, which is where you were now. It was easy to get onto base considering you had your military ID. You knew that Jake was here and you were excited to see him.
As you walked into the building you passed many people in their military uniforms. You weren’t in yours considering you had just arrived. When you were halfway to Beau “Cyclone” Simpson’s office you heard a voice that you hadn’t heard in forever and a smile popped onto your face and you followed it. You walked over to the voices and saw the tall, blonde, and green-eyed man he was going on about something nobody had seemed to notice you besides a blonde haired and blue-eyed man with glasses and he smiled and waved and you waved back. As Jake took a break in his little back and forth, he was having with a darked haired woman you decided to speak up. “Don’t believe anything he says. He tends to over exaggerate on stories.” You said and you could see him tense up and started to turn around.
“How the hell-” He began and then he saw you and the tension melted away and had the biggest smile on his face “Y/N? What are you doing here?” He asked, bringing you into a hug that you missed so much.
“Well, I decided to surprise you! So, surprise! Also, I’m moving here.” You said and hugged him back and closed your eyes.
“Wow, I don’t know what to say.” He said as he pulled away.
“Bagman, not knowing what to say? That’s a first.” A man with a mustache said and everyone laughed as Jake flipped him off. “You gonna introduce us?” He asked but Jake couldn’t stop looking at you smiling and you shook your head.
“I’m Y/N “Galaxy” Y/L/N, the new F-18 Maintenance Supervisor.” You said
“I heard we were getting a new one but that was about it. Hi, I’m Natasha Trace callsign Phoenix.” Natasha said “Let me just add, thank you for finally getting Bagman here to shut up and it’s going to be so nice having another female around here.” She said and then pulled you into a hug and you laughed.
“I’m Javy Machado callsign Coyote. Jake here has told me a lot about you.” He said and you chuckled.
“All good things I hope.” You said with a chuckle and elbowed Jake you had rolled his eyes at you but the smile never left his face.
“I’m Robert Floyd callsign Bob.” Bob said and you smiled at him.
“I love the callsign. It is so simple and I love it. Plus, your glasses make you look cute.” You said and he blushed and ducked his head. There was one thing about you that Jake loved and that is that you said what you thought and took crap from anyone.
“I’m Bradley Bradshaw callsign Rooster.” Bradley walked over and took your hand and kissed it and you smiled and Jake did not like that one bit.
“Back off, Chicken.” Jake said, taking your hand out of his and pushing him away and you just shook your head.
“Mickey Gracia callsign Fanboy. Maybe that you're around Jake will lighten up and stop being well Jake.” Mickey said and you turned to look at Jake.
“Have you been a jerk to them?” You asked and he shook his head.
“It’s called tough love.” He said
“Tough love my ass. I’m Ruben Fitz callsign Payback.” He said and shook your hand.
“Galaxy? How did you get that name?” Natasha asked and you smiled.
“Jake gave it to me first then my old squad gave it to me despite not being an aviator. I loved looking at the stars and knew everything about the galaxy and space. I geeked out once and the name just stuck.” You said with a smile and so did Jake he remembered when it happened.
“I love it.” Natasha said
“Why thank you.” You said and then looked at your watch “I need to go and meet Cyclone. Jake, do you want me to show me the way to his office?” You asked and he nodded his head and put a hand on your back as you both turned and started to head off. “It was nice meeting you all. I look forward to working with you and hanging out with you.” You called over your shoulder as you got a chorus of ‘you too’ and ‘goodbye’.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” Jake asked as you walked.
“I literally got the call about it yesterday.” You said and leaned into him briefly.
“I just can’t believe you’re here and staying.” He said and you smiled. Jake was like a brother to you. He was there through every breakup and every emergency trip. The thought of you two dating didn’t sit well with either of you so it was never pursued. You both were happy being friends. “Have you found a place yet?” He asked and you shook your head.
“Nope.” You said popping the p.
“Well, you’re in luck. I need a roommate.” He said
“Jake.” You started
“I’m not taking no for an answer.” He said and you sighed.
“Fine. I’ll meet you at my Jeep after I’m done here.” You said as you both arrived at the office.
“Deal.” He said as you knocked on the door and heard a faint ‘come in’ and you turned the handle and walked in giving Jake a smile.
——————————————————————
The meeting went great and as you said your goodbyes to Cyclone, Warlock, and Maverick you walked to your Jeep where Jake was standing and he smiled when he saw you. “How was it?” He asked and you smiled.
“Went really well! I'm excited to be working with y'all.” You said as your southern accent came out just a tiny bit like it always dies when you were around Jake.
“Great! Now I know my jet is in great hands under a person that I trust.” He said and gave you a little nudge. “Now let's get to my place where you'll be staying.” He said.
“I'll stay until I find myself a place.” You said as you opened the driver's side door and he shook his head.
“Not a chance.” Jake said and you chuckled.
“We'll see about that. I'll follow you.” You told him and he nodded as you got into your Jeep and him into his truck that was right beside yours. It didn't take long to get to his place and he lived close to the base and a bar called The Hard Deck which you think you'd really like. He pulled into the driveway and you pulled in right next to him. You were just about to get out when he opened the door for you.
“Now we can catch up and then meet everyone at The Hard Deck.” He said as you got out “We can unpack you later.” He added when he saw you looking at your stuff about to grab it. You huffed he always knew what you were thinking.
“Fine.” You said and followed him into the cozy little house and when you walked in you were surprised by how warm it felt.
“Beer?” He asked and you nodded.
“Please.” You said as he walked to the fridge as he set his keys down and you did the same. He grabbed two and then pointed towards the living room where you followed and sat on the couch. He opened the beer and gave it to you.
“So, what have you been up to? It’s been forever and I missed you.” Jake said as he took a drink of his beer and then looked at you as you took a drink of your beer.
“Well, let’s see I was last stationed at Naval Air Station Fallon in Fallon, Nevada and then we got deployed to South Korea for 6 months and then we came back and I got stationed at Top Gun. My mother died 2 months ago due to an incurable illness and then dad died a month after. My brother and sister never talk to me and they only showed up for the funeral and then left. My boyfriend of 5 months broke up with me because he cheated on me while I was deployed.” You told him and he looked at you with an unrecognizable look on his face, one that almost was of pity. “Don’t look at me like that.” You said and turned to look away from him as you took a drink of your beer.
“Y/N, I’m so sorry.” Jake said not knowing what to say.
“It’s alright. I’ve always had a rough life so this is nothing new.” You said and looked at him and he shook his head.
“You don’t deserve this. Why didn’t you call me? I would’ve been down there in an instant.” Jake asked you set your beer on the coffee table and turned to look at him fully.
“Because we hadn’t talked in years. We saw each other at graduation and then you were heading off to basic training.” You said “I went two years after you. I was taking care of mom. I didn’t want to go but she didn’t want to hold me back and told me to go and so I did.” You said with a shrug and he sat his beer down on the coffee table next to yours and pulled you into a hug.
“I’m here for you now, Galaxy. You’re not getting rid of me anytime soon, I promise.” He said and hugged him back and sunk into his embrace you truly did miss his hugs and his smell. You closed your eyes taking in the warmth and felt him drop a kiss onto your head. After a few moments of being in each other's arms you both released each other. You two stayed up and talked about your lives and just catching up in general and then you both ending up falling asleep.
——————————————————————
The next morning you both got up early and had breakfast together and then you both were heading off the base. Neither you, Jake, or any of The Daggers saw each other throughout the day, due to you being busy getting into a routine and meeting your teammates that you really liked and everyone got along unlike your last squad. Before you knew it, it was time to leave while packing up getting ready to leave Jake and The Daggers showed up and you smiled when you heard Jake calling out your name. “Hey, Galaxy! We’re heading off to The Hard Deck. Wanna join?” He asked and you smiled.
“Of course! Let me finish up here and I’ll be there.” You said and went back to finishing up what you needed. He turned to the others.
“You guys go on. We’ll meet you there.” Jake said
“Woah! Jake waiting up for someone? That’s new.” Mickey said and Jake rolled his eyes.
“I can be nice when people deserve it. Now go on. We’ll meet you there.” He said and they left. You smiled and shook your head and in no time you were done and you both were heading off to The Hard Deck.
When you reached your destination he opened the door for you and the both of you walked in and straight to the bar. You saw a nice blonde haired woman working and she smiled at Jake. “Jake, I see you finally decided to join! Who is this you have with you?” She asked.
“Penny meet Y/N. Y/N meet Penny. She is the owner of the bar.” Jake said and you and Penny smiled at each other.
“Hi Penny! Nice to meet you! You have such a lovely place.” You said and she smiled.
“Oh don’t flatter me. What can I get you?” She asked
“Let me see if I still remember it.” Jake cut in and you tipped your head in a motion like ‘go on’ with a smirk “She’ll take a Long Island Iced Tea with lemon and put it on my tab.” He said, looking at you as you nodded.
“You got it.” Penny said
“You actually remembered.” You said
“Of course. How could I forget?” Jake said as Penny came back with your drink and what you were assuming was his original.
“Thank you, Penny.” You said and smiled and nodded and you both headed over to the group where you all greeted each other.
“Where have you been all this time?” Natasha asked and you looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
“What do you mean?” You asked her.
“Ever since you have come here, Jake has been so much happier and so much more friendly and he hasn’t been leaving anybody hanging.” Natasha said and everyone agreed.
“She makes me happy. I would do anything for her.” He said and you nodded and it was left at that. As the night went on you had been hit on more times than you could count or liked but you didn’t have to worry about it for long because Jake was always there to scare them off and you were grateful and you weren’t looking for a relationship right now. You were quick to make friends with everyone especially Bob, he was quiet and reserved and you really liked that and he didn’t try to hit on you.
As you mingled about with the squad Jake stood back watching and smiling. He was definitely glad to have you close and it was true you did make him happy. He was a little protective when the guys tried to hit on you and he was there ready to step in but you handled and they quickly backed down. Everyone quickly became protective of you especially when it came to strangers coming up to you and trying to get with you and let Jake back down on his protectiveness some but not all the way. Jake was just happy to have his true friend that he had known for years back in his life and he was not letting go this time.

Walking with his bag slung over his shoulder, Bob adjusted his glasses as he made his way back into the Top Gun building. Pushing open the door he made his way down the halls pausing right outside of the locker rooms, hearing chatter coming from it before he entered.
“Here, let’s see what Bob thinks” Hangman's voice rang through the locker room “Bob” He made his way over to Bob, clapping a hand on his shoulder.
“What do you think this mission is for, all of us, back here just two months after the uranium plant mission. What do you think we’re doing now?” Jake moved his hand from Bob’s shoulder and motioned over to Rooster, Payback, Fanboy, Fritz, and Coyote “Because Bradshaw thinks we’re speaking to the new Top Gun graduates, and the rest guess that Cyclone is holding an Alumni Competition”
Bob shrugged making his way over to his locker “I couldn’t say” he set his bag down on the bench as he started to unpack it “But if I had to guess, then it’s another seek and destroy mission” he grabbed his flight suit, starting to put it on “What do you think it is?”
Jake smirked, turning back to his locker. “We’re here to teach our individual special skills, ” he hummed. “And I know that's a possibility because I saw Maverick walking in to go talk with Cyclone and I’m hoping that-” Before Jake could finish his sentence Pete popped his head into the locker room to yell.
“Everyone will be dressed and ready in the hager in five minutes! We’ve got a guest today”
Everyone nodded to him and quickly finished getting ready before making their way out to the hanger, seeing Maverick, Warlock, and Cyclone standing in front of the flag that hung from the ceiling.
As soon as everyone had taken their seats Warlock walked up to the podium to address the pilots. “Thank you all for agreeing to this” he started “The reason why I am giving the introduction to this mission today and not Admiral Simpson is beauce I asked” he gave a small smile “In three weeks, six Jets will be escorting and if necessary defending a cargo convoy that is transporting weaponry. Everyone who is here will be participating in the mission”
Phoenix looked around at the group before raising her hand “Sir you said there would be six Jets. That’s three solo pilots and three Wingmen with their RIO’s…. Out of all of us here, there’s only two solo pilots… Is Captain Mitchell flying with us?”
Warlock shook his head “Captain Mitchell will be co-instructing this mission…and as he might have told you already we have a guest, this pilot is someone I have personally flown with so I expect all of you to treat her with the utmost respect” he eyed everyone in the crowd (but mostly just Hangman) “because not only is she on loan to us from the Marines for this mission to co-instruct… she will also be your mission leader”
Footsteps filled the hanger as Warlock motioned to the back of the room “So without further ado I would like to introduce Captain Y/N Y/L/N” everyone’s heads turned watching as the new Captain made her way up to the front of the crowd “Call Sign ‘Killjoy’.” He moved around the podium to shake Y/N’s hand before she took his place.
As Y/N’s eyes scanned the room looking at her fellow pilots before she paused on Bob, seeing how his mouth was parted in surprise. She gave a small smile before clearing her throat “Thank you for the introduction Admiral Bates, as mentioned previously I am Captain Y/L/N but you all can call me Killjoy” she hummed “I’m not here to teach you anything new, I am here to make sure that the nine of us can function together as a unit” she glanced to Bob before looking down to the podium “I’m sure that it should be fairly simple to get along, especially after hearing that all of you flew together two months ago” looking back up she nodded to Pete “Captain Mitchell already knows where you all stand in your flight abilities but I don’t. Captain Mitchell and I will be up in the air, and you all will go up in groups of two and complete a short course so I can see where everyone’s at” Y/N moved away from the podium
“First group in the air is Hangman with Fanboy and Payback. You go up in five” Pete called out to dismiss everyone before he turned to Y/N to set up a plan between themselves.
Pushing out of her seat, Natasha started off for the lounge before she stopped realizing that Bob was still sat at the table watching Y/N. Walking back over to him she snapped in front of his face pulling him out of whatever trance he was in “Earth to Bob?” she hummed watching as he pulled his gaze away from Y/N, she raised her eyebrow with a smirk “Oh my god” she chuckled before turning to go to the lounge.
“What?” Bob called out, moving from his seat to follow her.
“You totally like the Captain” she hummed walking into the lounge where Bradley, Javy, and Billy eyed the two, curious of their conversation.
“Bob likes the Captain?” Javy smiled looking to the RIO “Don’t worry I like her, I’m sure Hangman and Rooster do to” he laughed
A small flush came over Bob’s face “You guys are horrible” he shook his head “I do no-” he paused hearing the door open before he could finish.
Poking her head into the room Y/N looked around before her eyes landed on Bob “Lieutenant Floyd… May I speak to you?” she motioned to the hallway. Bob only nodded before he made his way out of the room.
Everyone looked between each other before they glanced at the windows of the lounge, watching as Bob and Y/N exchanged a few words before shaking hands, a few more words were said before Y/N turned to walk back to the hanger and Bob made his way back into the lounge, with everyone’s eyes on him.
Natasha was the first to speak “Please tell me she just asked you out?”
“No, did you see that hand shake?” Bradley started “If anything she was introducing herself, but she definitely thinks he’s cute, because she didn’t introduce herself to the rest of us.”
A blush rusted the tips of Bob’s ears as he sat down on the couch “Turn on the radio” choosing to ignore the questions of his peers “They should be going up” he added.
Everyone just continued to eye Bob for a few more moments, before turning on the radio to listen to everyone up in the air.
Immediately Maverick’s voice came through “You and your wingman will fly the course mapped out, while evading Killjoy and I. This is a defense run, that means maneuver tactics only.”
“Understood” Reuben answered, yet Jake was silent until Pete spoke up.
“Lieutenant Seresin, is that understood?” A chuckle came though “Yes, Sir… I was actually wondering if we were gonna place a bet over this if we successfully avoid your lock-ons?” Jake eventually said “Ya know like the last time”
“Well Lieutenant Sersin,” Y/N’s voice came over the radio “We were gonna wait to tell you till after we shot you down” she chuckled “Maverick said you guys liked challenges so he suggested pushups”
“Oh come on Maverick” Fanboy called out “You’re not gonna let Killjoy decide? She is the guest after all” A laugh followed after Mickey’s question from Y/N and Pete.
A groan came from Javy as he walked over to the water cooler in the lounge “Why would you let the marine choose the punishment!”
Bradley cocked his brow to the pilot “What? Anything she gives us can't be worse than what Mav would give.” he looked around the room seeing everyone staring at him in horror.
Bob laughed as a smile came over his face, looking to his friend “Do you know what the final training test marines have to complete is?” Bradley shook his head “They call it ‘The Crucible’ it’s over 54 hours of food and sleep deprivation not to mention over 45 miles of marching” Bob watched as Rooster realized his and Fanboy’s mistake.
“I don’t know about you Bradshaw, but I’d take Mavericks punishment to a marine’s anyday” Natasha commented before everyone's attention was turned back to the radio.
“Are you sure that’s a game you wanna play Fanboy?” Everyone could hear the smirk in Pete’s voice.
“Why the hell not” Mickey responded “Do the two of you mind?” He spoke to his pilot and wingman.
The two unfortunately agreed before Y/N’s chuckle came through “Well I hope all of you are ready for a 20 minute dead hang” She hummed, groans of frustration came from the pilots in the air and those who were grounded in the lounge “Don’t worry if you guys can’t do the whole 20 minutes, but just know that if you drop you’re gonna be doing sit ups instead”
“Sit ups?” Jake stammered out.
“Oh yeah, how many would you say they should do Maverick?” Y/N called out to her fellow Captain.
“I’d say 120, just to fit with the 20 minute hang” he responded.
____________________________________
Chuckles filled the hanger as everyone watched Hangman struggle to hold himself up on the pull-ups bar as Payback and Fanboy groaned from the ground, with Hondo stood over the three. Counting off for Reuben and Mickey while occasionally glancing at a stopwatch he held in his hand.
Bradley shook his head with a smirk as he walked onto the airstrip with Coyote and Fritz laughing their asses off as they passed by Jake, who was now red in the face, yet refused to drop till he hit the 20 minutes mark.
Once they were up in the air Javy called out to his captains after a few minutes of flying the planned pathway “So if I didn’t agree to the bet, do I have to do the punishment?” He looked around for Y/N and Pete “Because Fritz, Rooster and I wanted no part in Hangman, Payback, and Fanboy’s stupidity” he sped up his jet to keep up with Bradley.
“Well you three didn’t agree to Y/N’s deal, but I’m still your main instructor” Maverick hummed “Which means…” he trailed off, as he did alarm started going off in Javy and Billy’s cockpit “You two can see Hondo for your sit ups”
Hearing Fritz and Coyote’s groans over the radio, Bradley muttered an apology to them before speeding up along the course.
Bob stood watching out the window as Phoenix, Hangman, Fanboy, and Payback huddled around the radio. “I think we’re screwed” Bob shook his head as he turned to Natasha, who raised her brows at him
“We’re going up against Maverick and a fucking marnie, of course we’re screwed” she motioned to the three pilots next to her “Look at how screwed these three were” she chuckled and then motioned out the window “Look how screwed the three up there are” she hummed
Reuben held up his hand as if to say ‘wait a minute’ before he spoke “First of all,” he pointed to Jake “he was the dumbass who tried to use a new maneuver he’s never tried before and second, Rooster hasn’t been caught yet”
Y/N’s voice came over the radio again “I’ll say this to anyone listening. If you aren’t Lieutenant Seresin, Lieutenant Fitch, or Lieutenant Garcia then you don’t have to do my deal. However, like Captain Mitchell said, you still have to do his deal.”
Sighs of relief filled the air for everyone.
“Well great balls of fire that’s good to hear” Bradley laughed “because I do believe tha-” Before he could finish his sentence, the alarms in his cockpit went off.
“I’m sorry, you were saying Lieutenant Bradshaw?” Y/N hummed “Tell Hundo hi for me. Lieutenants Seresin, Trace, and Floyd, you’re up next”
Mickey patted Jake on the back “Have fun with that dead hang again” he smirked.
Jake just rolled his eyes making his way to the hanger with Bob and Natasha already a few steps ahead of him.
“Maybe your girlfriend can get us out of the situps,” Natasha joked. Bob just shook his head making his way over to their jet to go over the pre-flight checks.
Jake eyed Bob “Him and Captain Y/L/N?”
Natasha looked over her shoulder to him “She came up to him just before you, Payback, and Fanboy took off to introduce herself”
“Introduce herself?” the pilot hummed curiously.
“That’s what Bob said”
____________________________________
Gliding through the course Jake for once took his time, allowing Phoenix and Bob to keep the same pace as they kept their guard up, watching for their captains as they flew.
“Do either of you find it strange that we haven’t seen Maverick or Killjoy once?” Natasha hummed, glancing off into the distance before going back to watching Hangman’s tail. “It’s like they’re messing with us…” She trailed off.
“I’m sure they’re just waiting to see what we do,” Jake responded.
“You’re right” Pete’s voice came over the radio “We were” His jet suddenly appeared from under Hangman’s, which caused the cocky pilot to speed up. Pete’s jet pulled behind Bob and Natasha before the alarms in their cockpit went of “Phoenix, Bob go see Hondo for your situps”
Phoenix banged her hands against the council of the jet “Damnit…” she muttered, starting to bring the plane back to the landing strip.
As Hangman’s jet got farther away from Maverick’s, the pilot called out to him “You can run Hangman, but you can’t hide from Killjoy”
Jake just shook his head “I’m sure you’re a good pilot Killjoy but I don’-” He paused being cut off by the alarms in his cockpit.
“I’m sure you’re a good pilot as well Hangman, and because you’re such a good pilot, you can go see Hondo about your dead hangs” You could hear the smile in Y/N’s voice as she flew over Jake. stopping by the side of his jet to wave at him.
“Alrighty everyone, Maverick and I will see all of you back on the ground for review once you’re all done with your situps and dead hangs” Y/N called out before she, Pete and Jake all started to head back to base.
When they landed Pete and Y/N made their way into the lounge, passing by Bob, Natasha, and Jake as they did.
“You’ve put together quite the team Captain Mitchell” Y/N commented glancing over her shoulder to watch the three lieutenants, her eyes stopping to watch a little longer on Bob.
“Thank you, I think having the mission two months ago really helped everyone find their way with each other” Pete nodded “So between you and me, why the marines?” Y/N furrowed her brows before Pete continued “I read over your file, you had quite the reputation in the Naval Academy… So what happened?”
Letting out a chuckle, Y/N shook her head “You got something against marines Maverick?”
Pete let out a laugh again “No, no, just curious”
“umm… I just… wanted to try something different” she started walking into the building with Pete “... I looked at all of my opportunities after graduating from the naval academy and just decided I liked the idea of it”
He paused as Y/N continued to walk down the hallway, he looked around making sure no one was around before he spoke “Are you sure it didn’t have anything to do with your history with Lieutenant Floyd?”
Y/N stopped dead in her tracks upon hearing him, her body went stiff. She turned her head “What?”
Maverick took a few steps closer to her “Warlock trusts you Y/N, therefore I have trust in you… But I am still responsible for my team up there and I need to know if you’re going to pose a risk-”
“You read my file that deep?” she cut him off “Captain Mitchell” she cleared her throat “I can respect that you want to keep your team safe… however if you wanted to know about my history you could have just asked” she paused “Sure I have history with Lieutenant Floyd… but I can guarantee you my judgment and leadership skills are not in jeopardy… Can you say the same?” She turned on her heel and started to walk off to the changing rooms “Tell everyone to get changed before meeting back in the hanger for review” Maverick could see how she clenched the fist of her hand that wasn’t holding her helmet. “You can give them the basic review rundown can’t you?”
Maverick stood watching as Y/N walked away before he scoffed to himself and made his way to tell the team to change before meeting back in the hangar.

Love and Pretence di Stefanie Simpson
The Only One di Daisy Jane
In wishlist
Bound to Me di Katie Ashley
Servicing the Target di Cherise Sinclair
Femdom Tales di Lola Bowie (3 racconti)
Crossing the Line di Megan Hart
Beg For It di Megan Hart
Sanctuary di Rebekah Weatherspoon
The Devil's Doorbell di AA.VV.
Crystals and Contracts di A.A.
Bind Me di Esme Taylor
Prelude to Hope di Stefanie Simpson
Mutual Beginnings di Stefanie Simpson
Neon Hearts di Stefanie Simpson
Lay Me Down in Ivy di Stefanie Simpson

A to Z Song Challenge Master List.
Tumblr media
A laid back song challenge put out by @princessmisery666 and quickly jumped upon by a few of us. Much like kinktober, this will not have tag lists, and if it’s something you’re interested in following follow the tag #wbsonglist and feel free to follow and turn on notifications at @wbslibrary  There is no timeline, due dates or order that this needs to be written in. If you feel like participating, come up with a song title starting with a letter of the alphabet, and attach it to a character or pairing.  Please send me a link, or tag me in! I’m a music fiend and seeing how people connect songs to stories is something I love so much.  Thank you so much for all of your continued support, and I look forward to hearing what ya’ll think about these stories.

Note
I really want to read all your Top Gun fics but I get so confused on who’s who between their names, nicknames, last names and code names. Could you break it down for me? If not it’s totally okay. I’ve tried researching and just end up more confused.
Okay so here’s a list of characters from the movie I’ve mentioned or written about. (Someone tell me if I’ve missed anyone)
Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw - Actor: Miles Teller
Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin - Actor: Glen Powell
Robert ‘Bob’ Floyd - Actor: Lewis Pullman
Mickey ‘Fanboy’ Garcia - Actor: Danny Ramirez
Javy ‘Coyote’ Machado - Actor: Greg Davis
Natasha ‘Phoenix’ Trance - Actress: Monica Barbaro
Reuben ‘Payback’ Finch - Actor: Jay Ellis
Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell - Actor: Tom Cruz
Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazanksy - Actor: Val Kilmer
Penny Benjamin - Actor: Jennifer Connelly
Beau ‘Cyclone’ Simpson - Actor: Jon Hamm
Solomon ‘Warlock’ Bares - Actor: Charles Parnell
Now some original characters from specific stories that are reader inserts and not actually in the movie.
Y/n ‘Chaos’ Kazanksy - Tom Kazanksys daughter and Bradley Bradshaws love interest in Chaos.
Renee ‘Radar’ Spencer-Floyd - Bob’s wife and best friend in The B.OB series (Still a reader insert)
Y/n ‘Hawkeye’ Seresin - Jake Seresins Ex!wife and love interest in To have & To Hold
Y/n ‘Clover’ Y/l/n - Bob’s love interest in Clover Club.
I hope this helps. Even if it doesn’t really clear anything up at least you’ll be able to look up specific people now. 🙂
