Maybe it's my inner Tanta Cinta talking but Cipal has way too many fecking stairs. Where's the ramps? How are merchants supposed to wheel carts and wagons of goods throughout the city? Are they expected to just carry everything on their backs? Or construction materials! How did they haul around all that stone to build the place? And what about their elderly or disabled citizens? It's an accessibility nightmare.

Honestly. I'm going to go with my usual theory when it comes to game worlds: what we see is only a symbolic representation of what the actual world would be like if it was real. I mean otherwise there's no way Cipal can fit thousands of people, let alone the thousands of refugees on top of its usual population that it took in when the Corruption hit. And also if we stick with only exactly what's in the game, Athia is an island, not a continent. It's only about six or seven miles from end to end. My commute to work is roughly half that, which would mean that round trip I bus the length of Athia every day.

This is one of the reasons I wish we had a day/night cycle. If I knew how long 24 hours in-game took in real time, I could use average walking speed to get a rough estimation of how big Athia is supposed to be in-universe based on how long it takes to walk to any given location. I did this with Eos in FFXV using the time it takes to drive from the Insomnia Blockade to the Rock of Ravatogh at 60mph, I can do it again for walking speed!

...wait a minute

I know what day Frey came to Athia. And I can find out what day she fought the dragon. I can calculate from there based on average walking speed and an assumption that she didn't walk for 24 hours straight how far it is between Junoon Castle and Junoon Castle Town. The existence of Flow might throw off my math a little, though. Hmm...

Where there's a will there's a way. I'ma find out.

He knew Ostium Gorge, and that was at best. At a stretch, Petra knew that the checkpoint was in the Leide region of the mainland, and he knew Galdin Quay was the transport point to The Protectorate. That was his knowledge of the lands beyond the King's Wall.

There was a slight knot of tension in his chest as he wait by the gate checkpoint. He liked to have all the details; to know the risk assessment, the dangers, intel, associates. But he had no clue about the mainland really, beyond his studying of the world map for the past week or so. He was a quick study, but the landmass was huge.

Hearing footsteps, Petra looked up and smiled when Selena rounded the corner with a travel bag in her hand. There was a new pick-up truck parked near the barrier; a few strings he had pulled and some reccies on the mainland - a truck would far better on the roads. "All ready to go?"

He nodded to the truck and handed over the travel ID to Selena, taking the bag from her hand. The travel documents would only be needed for crossing from Lucis to the contested region of The Protectorate. "You said Lestallum first, right? Or any new plans?"

This might seem weird, but I like to think that Nyx actually doesn't bombard Noct with the pickup lines much until after their relationship is a little more established. Kind the vibe of 'You're locked in and not getting rid of me, so I'm gonna make you roll your eyes at me, groan and blush all at the same time'

Nyx'll do it at the most random, unexpected times. A basic "What's cookin' good lookin?'" when Noct's just buttering a slice of toast.

One time when Noct comes out of the shower- Nyx: Are you the Rock of Ravatogh? Because you're smokin' hot. Noct: Stop. And Nyx just smirks like he's a damn genius.

One time after they kiss - Nyx: Are you a descendant of Ifrit? 'Cause baby you set my heart on fire. Noct: Oh my gods.

On Valentine's Day Nyx: Were you a chocobo in another life? Because you hold the kweh to my heart. Cue Noct shaking his head and struggling not to smile stupidly.

After Nyx proposes and Noct says Yes - Nyx: I'm not a hoarder but I really want to keep you forever Noct: I take it back. The wedding's off. Nyx: You can't take it back. Noct: I can and I will Nyx, tackling Noct and attacking him with kisses: You can't!

And then they just turn into a wrestling mess of giggles.

Noct can shake his head, groan, blush or deflect Nyx all he wants, but Nyx being an insufferable cheeseball is one of the many things he loves about the fool :p

The Rock of Ravatogh:
