The Mekons • the quality of mercy is not strnen (Virgin, 1979) The unusual title and cover derive from the axiom that if you give amo key a typewriter and an infinite amount of time , it would eventually produce a work comparable to those by Shakespeare. A wink to the band’s own 2-chord musical ability. The Mekons borrowed #gangoffour ‘s instruments to record the album.
