Here Are Five Reasons To Attend The First-Ever Rockstar Disrupt Fest
Tumblr media
All photos by Aaron Berkshire
In case you’ve been sleeping under a rock without any WiFi, we’re pretty sure you’ve heard that the first-ever Rockstar Disrupt Fest has officially begun. Featuring acts like The Used, Thrice, Circa Survive, The Story So Far and plenty others, the brand new festival has been off to a hot start.
And now with everything in full swing, we thought we might remind some you who have yet to buy tickets why you should definitely attend the Warped Tour and Mayhem Fest-like gathering.
To check out the five reasons why we think you should make it to Disrupt Fest this summer, be sure to see below. Afterward, to grab tickets, head here.
The Lineup
Tumblr media
With a lineup featuring The Used, Circa Survive, Thrice, The Story So Far, Sum 41, Sleeping With Sirens, Memphis May Fire, Atreyu, Andy Black and a ton more, what’s there not to like? Not to mention, when you get all these talented artists together in the same setting, who knows what might happen. Maybe Kellin Quinn will do a guest feature during The Used’s “A Box Full Of Sharp Objects.” Oh wait, that’s already happened...
Support Your Scene
Tumblr media
It’s important to remember how significant it is to support this musical scene. If you’re bummed the Vans Warped Tour is over, don’t just sit on your couch and mope. Get out, go to shows like Disrupt Fest and prove the scene you love has an actual pulse. Without people like you attending these shows, there will only be less and less like it moving forward.
The First of Its Kind
Tumblr media
This might be pretty obvious but there’s only one chance to say you attended the first of something. Don’t be that person five, ten or even 15 years from now kicking yourself for not making it out to the first-ever Disrupt Fest. We know we’re bummed we missed the inaugural Taste Of Chaos.
Summer Break
Tumblr media
Look, you can only watch every episode of The Office so many times without getting bored. Why not get out of the house during your summer break and go see a show? Better yet, how about you see multiple shows all happening on the same day at Disrupt Fest?
Rediscover Some Of Your Old Favorite Bands
Tumblr media
This one goes to all the readers whose last Warped Tour may have been back in 2010. It’s okay, we get it. Life comes at you fast and not all of us have been able to prioritize going to shows like others. So that said, why not get out to Disrupt Fest and enjoy some of the nostalgia thanks in part to The Used, Thrice, Circa Survive, Atreyu, Memphis May Fire and Sleeping With Sirens. Who knows, maybe they’ll play some new music you didn’t realize you loved until just now.
In case those five reasons weren’t convincing enough -- which we’re pretty confident they were -- make sure to check out some recent photos from Disrupt Fest below thanks to Noise contributor Aaron Berkshire.

MEGADETH & LAMB OF GOD Will Tour This Year, But It Will Not Be On Mayhem Fest
MEGADETH & LAMB OF GOD Will Tour This Year, But It Will Not Be On Mayhem Fest
[ad_1]
While we were pretty amped over the rumors of Megadeth and Lamb of God possibly headlining the upcoming return of Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, festival organizers have officially thrown water on our embers of hope.
“The rumors are not true,” organizers wrote on Facebook. “We love Megadeth & Lamb Of God but have something completely different in mind for you…

Jungle Rot Interviewed In Oakland, California And Full Set Performance Footage
Jungle Rot’s latest album, Order Shall Prevail, was released on June 30th, 2015, just as the band prepared to perform at the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. Since then, the Wisconsin metal brigade has performed at the Maryland Death Metal Fest, the Metal Alliance Tour with Dying Fetus and Acacia Strain. Jungle Rot recently teamed up with Germany’s Destruction as part of the North America Under…

Mayhem fest
Not gonna lie mayhem fest was pretty sick this year even though I only saw Jungle Rot, Whitechapel, King Diamond, and Slayer. They all put on a great show. The one thing that did piss me off was that they closed the lawn off, so no one could mosh get crazy. They basically upgraded everyone who had lawn seat to actual seats. It was complete bullshit that we could not mosh to slayer. It really did kill the mood. All n all though I still had fun.

Disrupt Q&A: The Used’s Jeph Howard and Thrice’s Riley Breckenridge Dive Into First-Ever Disrupt Fest
Tumblr media
With the days of the Vans Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos and Mayhem Fest sadly behind us, this summer sees the birth of a brand new traveling festival featuring the likes of some of our scene’s biggest names.
Dubbed the Rockstar Disrupt Festival, the 25-date summer trek is a new spin on the previously listed fests hosting 14 fan-favorite acts such as The Used, Thrice, Circa Survive, Sum 41, The Story So Far, Atreyu, Sleeping With Sirens, Memphis May Fire, Andy Black and more.
With just two weeks to go until the highly anticipated summer circuit kicks off, we reached out to some of the bands playing to get their predictions for the first-ever Disrupt Festival.
Today, we are sharing what The Used’s Jeph Howard and Thrice’s Riley Breckenridge had to say about the inaugural festival. To see what the talented musicians said about working with some of the other bands on tour plus their thoughts on how Disrupt will compare to Warped Tour, be sure to look below. Afterward, make sure to grab tickets to the Rockstar Disrupt Festival here.
Lastly, if you’d like a chance at winning free tickets – yes, FREE! – head here.
JEPH HOWARD - THE USED
Tumblr media
Which band are you most excited to watch every day on tour?
Thrice and Circa Survive.
If you could create new music with any artist on Disrupt Fest who would it be and why?
Thrice and Circa Survive. The mixture of vocals and styles should be great.
How do you think Disrupt Fest will compare to your days spent on the Vans Warped Tour?
Way better vibe. Warped was great but it seemed like too much was going on. This seems like it will be a lot easier to navigate and see who you wanna see, more like Taste of Chaos was.
Who’s the person in your band least likely to shower during Disrupt Fest?
That’s a tough one. Dan showers first thing in the morning every day. I shower every night after the show. Bert showers usually before the show. So it’s pretty equal on who showers. I’d have to say the new guy Joey only because I don’t know his showering habits just yet.
Which band do you predict will have the biggest hangout bus this tour?
[Definietly] not our bus. I think outside of the bus area is going to be the hang zone for everyone. It’s summertime. Why hide in the bus when you can try and hide in public?
Which band will have the gnarliest mosh pits?
I think everyone is going to have pretty solid breakdancing areas but I’m actually hoping to see more fire dancing pits and all vegan BBQ pits.
Which band will have the loudest sing-alongs?
The Used 🤗
If you could do guest vocals during someone’s set this summer, who would it be and which song?
Either Cave in “Juggernaut” or Miriam Makeba “The Click Song” but unfortunately neither will be touring anywhere this summer.
Your final predictions for how the first-ever Disrupt Fest will go?
It’s going to be fucking epic! The first is always the most memorable.
RILEY BRECKENRIDGE - THRICE
Tumblr media
Which band are you most excited to watch every day on tour?
I think it's a toss-up between Circa Survive and The Story So Far. We've done a ton of touring with Circa, and I've seen them a hundred times, but Anthony is such an electric frontman you never know what's gonna happen from night-to-night and that's super exciting. And with TSSF, I've been a fan for a while and have never seen them live so I'm gonna make up for that tenfold this summer.
If you could create new music with any artist on Disrupt Fest who would it be and why?
Probably Circa Survive. I feel like we're kinda on the same page in a lot of ways creatively. It'd be really fun to explore some like-minded weirdness with those dudes.
How do you think Disrupt Fest will compare to your days spent on the Vans Warped Tour?
I have no idea what to expect, really. I guess it'll be more manageable [and] mellower (on the band side of things). My hopes are that the camaraderie will be the same, the chance to play in front of larger crowds will be the same, and there will be fewer people in line for the bathrooms and catering. So that's a plus.
Who’s the person in your band least likely to shower during Disrupt Fest?
We're all pretty into being hygienic. If you smell like trash, you get called out on our bus. We'll be showering daily.
Which band do you predict will have the biggest hangout bus this tour?
Probably not us. Unless you like writing music, watching sports, reading, being old.
Which band will have the gnarliest mosh pits?
No clue. Probably the band that asks for them the most and has the most mosh-y parts? Not sure who that is but it's definitely not us.
Which band will have the loudest sing-alongs?
It'll probably depend on geography and crowd size. If we have our way, every band will get a taste of it depending on where we are. The best part about doing these bigger tours is making it feel like a collective effort ... we all want to put on the best show possible in every city.
Your final predictions for how the first-ever Disrupt Fest will go?
It's gonna be awesome. No doubt about it.

Disrupt Fest, Ozzfest Meets Knotfest Promoter Forced To File For Bankruptcy
Disrupt Fest, Ozzfest Meets Knotfest Promoter Forced To File For Bankruptcy
[ad_1]
The touring market is as much of a gamble as ever. One bad tour and you are done. Take for example Synergy Global Entertainment. Company founter John Reese made his name tour managing for Guns N Roses and then later co-founding the Rockstar Mayhem Fest. In recent years, he worked more with destination festivals like Ozzfest Meets Knotfest and Travis Barker’s MusINK festival.

Disrupt Q&A: Sleeping With Sirens’ Kellin Quinn & Memphis May Fire’s Matty Mullins Detail First-Ever Disrupt Fest

KELLIN QUINN - SLEEPING WITH SIRENS
Tumblr media
Which band are you most excited to watch every day on tour?
The bands I’m most excited to watch on tour are The Used and Circa!! I’m a massive fan of both of those bands! And I’m blown away that I get to tour with them.
If you could create new music with any artist on Disrupt Fest who would it be and why?
I would start a supergroup with Bert [McCracken, The Used] and Anthony Green! And it would destroy the planet, but in a good way? Like, people would be happy about it because after we destroyed the world, we would rebuild it. A better world. A world with dinosaurs. And really that’s the best thing for our planet, building a real Jurassic type of world. Amen.
How do you think Disrupt Fest will compare to your days spent on the Vans Warped Tour?
I’m sure Disrupt will be just like Warped Tour, minus the drinking (for me) and I’ll have my dog. She’s pretty awesome. Other than that, yeah, probably really similar.
Who’s the person in your band least likely to shower during Disrupt Fest?
The person least likely to shower is our sound Engineer/ TM Ron. He’s a smelly cat.
Which band do you predict will have the biggest hangout bus this tour?
Our band without a doubt will have the biggest hangout bus - it’s always the case.
Which band will have the gnarliest mosh pits?
Without a doubt, our band will have the most gnar-gnar mossy pits, full of green moss. I’d assume we’ll have a pretty decent mosh pit too.
Which band will have the loudest sing-alongs?
Loudest sing-along award goes to Thrice. And I’ll be smack dab in the middle singing loudly, maybe with one of those kid speakers with the mic like the one in Toy Story so I can sing even louder.
If you could do guest vocals during someone’s set this summer, who would it be and which song?
If I could guest vocal with anyone on Disrupt it would be The Used and the song would be "Take It Away"!
Your final predictions for how the first-ever Disrupt Fest will go?
It will go swimmingly! See you there! Bring sunscreen and snacks for me! Oh! Bring toy dinosaurs if you have any. Preferably velociraptors because they’re my favorite. They’re smart and cunning. Thanks. 🙏
MATTY MULLINS - MEMPHIS MAY FIRE
Tumblr media
Which band are you most excited to watch every day on tour?
Thrice! We've never had the opportunity to tour with them so we're all way stoked to check out their set!
If you could create new music with any artist on Disrupt Fest who would it be and why?
I've actually been thinking about asking Brandon [Saller, drummer/vocalist] from Atreyu to do guest vocals on our next record. That dude’s voice is unreal.
How do you think Disrupt Fest will compare to your days spent on the Vans Warped Tour?
It will be just as hot lol. But honestly, I don't have any expectations. Warped can't be re-created. This will be a whole new adventure!
Who’s the person in your band least likely to shower during Disrupt Fest?
That would be our Merchandise Manager, Todd.
Which band do you predict will have the biggest hangout bus this tour?
Us! Come on in!!!
Which band will have the gnarliest mosh pits?
Pretty sure Four Year Strong is gonna take that title.
Which band will have the loudest sing-alongs?
Either The Used or Sum 41, although Sleeping With Sirens’ crowds definitely know how to belt it out.
If you could do guest vocals during someone’s set this summer, who would it be and which song?
The Used - “The Taste Of Ink.” Hit me up!
Your final predictions for how the first-ever Disrupt Fest will go?
The people behind the scenes of Disrupt are true professionals. I think it's gonna be an amazing summer!
