Along Toad River, BC (No. 1)
The Toad River is a river in the Canadian boreal forest, within the borders of the province of British Columbia.
The Toad River was named for the numerous large toads seen along its banks by fur traders of the early 19th century. John McLeod of the Hudson's Bay Company, who traveled up the river in 1831, wrote: "it derives its appellation from the number of Toads seen along its banks and some are of immense size; I have seen some which weighed upwards of a pound, and the Indians inform me there are some to be seen of a much larger size."
The traditional indigenous name for the river is Tsal-eh-chesi.

Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep
These are females (ewes) browsing on the highway shoulder. There were no rams in this small group, they are still likely in bachelor groups fighting for dominance to see which ones will breed with these ewes.
I’m not an expert but I think their breeding starts in November.

Until the cool breeze and change of leaves begin, I can always pretend it's Fall 🍂🍁
Way of the hunter has an amazing photo mode and super well done animal models. Even if you don't like hunting it's oddly the best photography game I've found.

Bighorn Sheep on a Hillside on the Lake Minnewanka Scenic Drive (Banff National Park)
flickr
Bighorn Sheep on a Hillside on the Lake Minnewanka Scenic Drive (Banff National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I've been at this exact same spot almost a year ago the July before. I've been lucky in that I had seen a group of a bighorn sheep ewes that afternoon. So here I was the next following year in May, and I had a chance to see several more bighorn sheep in that same spot!

Racing River, BC (No. 1)
The Racing River is a 95 km long tributary of the Toad River in northern British Columbia.
The Racing River rises on the northern slope of the 2133 m high Ortona Mountain in the Muskwa Ranges, a mountain range in the north of the Rocky Mountains. From there it flows north through the mountains. Northeast of the village of Toad River (near Mile 422 of the Alaska Highway), the river joins the Toad River River below the Toad River Hot Springs Provincial Park. 12 km from the mouth the Racing River the British Columbia Highway (Alaska Highway) crosses the Racing River and runs a few miles downstream on the right bank before the highway leads into the valley of the right tributary of the MacDonald Creek.
