There are a few pleasures that we get to enjoy in this life. One of these is enjoying food that we have been blessed with, Alhamdulillah. We recently bought some gorgeous strawberries and before I eat them all alone, I decided to make the ganache my husband asked me to make, so we could enjoy them together. I would like to wish everyone a beautiful and special Eid Mubarak. This Eid will definitely be different and will be remembered for years to come, as will Ramadhaan, that has just passed us by. It’s been different, harder in some respects, yet most blessed in that our homes became masjids and Madressahs. Our family bonds strengthened and deepened, and Insha Allah, May Allah keep us and our families together, safe and protected. Sunday Mornings tend be the one morning of the week that my husband and I actually sit down and have breakfast together...of course it depends on who’s in the mood to cook most of the time, however, with it being so hot 🥵, this morning I decided to put together something fast and easy and relatively light but filling. Charcuterie boards have become an obsession of mine recently and I love that I can put together something quickly and easily. It’s a delightful change to the normal food menu and my husband seems to be enjoying them. I love the versatility, in that I can customize the board to a particular meal time. This morning’s one consisted of some wonderful, flavorful cream cheeses & strawberries from @woolworths_sa, along with assorted @bakersbiscuits snack time crackers. Egg salad/egg surprise, with very light toasted bread, butter and some of my favourite masala chai to go with it. Today, after having being busy with cleaning diligently here at home, I think I deserve a bit of a pampering break. Not exactly going to a salon or spa which would actually be the ideal...however home treatments can be done too... time permitting... My skin has recently been feeling really dry...which is weird considering I have really oily skin. So I went diving into my cosmetic and facial products drawer and found the above products which I stashed in there. I definitely want to begin with clean skin and the following my cleanser with the @shillsmask_za to cleanse my skin and @niveasouthafrica 1 minute detox moisturising mask is the beginning of restoring moisture to my skin. I'm not quite sure about the other mask but I may use it another day. The @lorealinstitutesa hydroboost is one of my favourite products for hydrating my skin. Really moisturizing. The nail polish is for fun...while I'm waiting for the masks to dry. It washes off under water, which is what I love about it. Perfect for when you need to make wudhu. Farmasi Lip Care Intense Moisturizer is really amazing! No matter how dry and cracked your lips may be, this lip moisturizer restores and softens your lips almost instantaneously. Since Ramadhaan began, we have received quite a few gifts of dates. We were gifted these particular dates by my parents recently and though @siafadates_za is new to me, I really am enjoying these. I love that its individually packed, and that its sweet but not overly sweet, and the almonds add a nice crunch. Winter at home was always warm... yes.. we had a fire going in the lounge, thanks to mom and dad, but also because it was the one place we all spent time in together.
