     Alright, so he could mess up. Far be it from him to admit his faults, though- especially after a completed mission.

      Normally, he could handle medical care on his own. Telekinesis and a mirror or two meant even areas he couldn't directly see could be taken care of. However, there were limits to even his capabilities. Currently, that limit was three hollow point bullets lodged in his flesh-and-blood shoulder. He could tell they weren't too deep, but removing them without a more professional hand would more than likely leave him in need of a new TO arm on the right side. Part of being an effective soldier was realizing when you couldn't, or shouldn't, do something on your own, no matter how much your pride balks.

     Skimming communications channels and finding discreet but effective medical personnel took some time, but it wasn't terribly difficult. For the moment, the biggest concern was getting there without doing more damage to his shoulder. He'd used telekinesis to keep light pressure on the wound to stave off too much bloodloss, but it wasn’t exactly a perfect solution.

      On arriving, he telepathically scanned the building and surrounding area, looking for anything he should be worried about. Satisfied for the moment, he slipped in, feeling blood beginning to dry under the thick mesh of his cape. Bullets out, then an hour long shower at the apartment.

      ‘In need of your services to remove a few bullets.’ Eyes scanned the room, head swiveling to take in every last detail. He had no reason to trust her and it was good to keep your guard up around anyone with the capacity to effectively use a scalpel.

Deadpool had fallen from four floors up and crashed with a loud thud against a dumpster, if it had been slightly to the left he would have landed in it. No such luck. Miraculously, he was conscious, but only barely. 

“mmsorry for breakin’ yer dumpster.” he groaned to the young woman who had approached. Hopefully she wasn’t one of the people trying to kill him.

Zemo watched her reach for him but made no move to evade her grasp, remaining completely still as her skin touched his. He tensed at the pressure she applied, waiting to feel something. 

But he’d misread her intent, apparently. A moment passed and he remained standing, eyes locked onto hers. He’d seen what she could do with just a touch, knew that it only took a second for her to use her power to incapacitate a man. But instead of dropping him, she merely held his throat, not even tightly enough to be uncomfortable.

 Zemo swallowed reflexively against her grip. It wasn’t the sensation he’d expected, but waiting to feel whatever pain her power brought was almost close enough. “What are you waiting for?” he asked, leaning ever so slightly into her palm, increasing the pressure by the barest increment. “Do it.”

I can definitely see the platonic ships between Ruby and Nat, Quake and Pietro! Nat would have her on her radar cos she might be healing criminals that the Avengers are targeting, and Quake might try to recruit her to join SHIELD.  As for Pietro, I must first apologise cos I think he’d probably try hitting on her lol (Wanda you didn’t see this). 

As for Steve, Bucky and Thor, I do think it’s possible to ship them both platonically and romantically too. Both Steve and Thor are definitely attracted to smart women with a kind heart. It might take a while for Bucky though, cos he probably thinks that she deserves better...

“ saw what ? ” the silver haired boy asked casually , his eyes only briefly lifting from the screen of the game in his hands to give her a quick glance. the handheld gaming console was new to him. sure , he had had a Game Boy when they first came out back in the 80's ; but this was different. the controllers were detachable , and you were able to hook it up to your television to play on a larger screen. and the graphics. . .he still couldn't get used to it. 

peter had played this game many times over the years , knowing no one could actually see him do anything if he didn't want them to. but with ruby he was mostly just messing with her -- playing the innocent card for as long as he could. as if the speedster wasn't a certifiable kleptomaniac. “ hide what -- my new HIGH score ? ”

"Hey." he sighed, he looked at her again, offering a small smile as he tried to look less uncomfortable than he was, he wasn't sure why, but he really liked her already. There was a part of him that felt drawn to her, maybe she reminded him of his mother.

"Did you need something? You looking for Jennifer?"

Her fingers are nimble, if somewhat slow. Ruby was inexperienced when it came to chevalier armor. A buckle here, a strap there. But the fight had looked brutal, from where she’d been standing. And while she was grateful Abel had defended her, she was not quite so fond of the bruises blooming on his jaw and the dark stain blooming on one of his arms.

You’re being ridiculous, she chided herself. Being grateful for a guard doing his job. If he couldn’t handle himself in a fight and clean the wounds afterwards, he had no business being a chevalier in the first place. “You ought to learn how to better choose your battles,” she chided all the same.

Rubyhe worked at his armor, removing the pauldrons first, keenly aware of when her hand brushed against his gambeson, unable to stop from wondering what he was thinking. No doubt something similar, she decided, lifting one of his arms to unbuckle the bracer. It was like she was a besotted girl, the role she performed often but never became. What was she if not level headed at all times?

Then came the gloves. For a moment -- just a moment -- her hand brushed against his. Once, twice, the chance to entwine their fingers arrived and slipped past. That she was even thinking of such things -- Ruby shook herself mentally. Returned to her task once more, but still found herself thinking about the callouses at the base of his fingers, those indicative of years spent working with a sword.

The greaves? She would not touch the greaves. Abel was wounded, and it would be unwise to make him move too much. That, at least, she could decide on with a clear head. 

She moved to the gambeson then. “One of these days, you’ll end up dead,” she said, undoing the first buckle. Then the next, and the next, down his torso, until she could slide it off his shoulders to expose the wound -- mercifully small, now that she saw it. Deep and bloody, but easy to close up. Without thinking, her hand drifted to his arm, resting against his skin light enough not to hurt. 

The idea of his death struck her. It shouldn’t have, but it did. Her heart, withered and traitorous, had never learned to stay silent, not even now as she turned to reach for the water and rag to clean him with. It was a simple thing, something Abel was surely more than capable of doing himself, but it gave Ruby a sense of relief -- one she had no wish to look into further. He was her guard, and he followed the rules, and she disliked waiting around while he recovered. That's all this was, she told herself -- impatience getting the better of her. That was all.
