Forward penalized $5,000 for actions in second period
NEW YORK - St. Louis Blues forward David Perron has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri during Game 4 of the teams' Second Round series in St. Louis on Monday, May 23, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 5:30 of the second period. Perron was assessed a minor penalty for cross-checking.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Evgeny Kuznetsov has been suspended four years by the International Ice Hockey Federation for testing positive for cocaine.
The Washington Capitals forward has voluntarily entered the Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Program (SABH), run by the National Hockey League and the NHL Players' Association. He has not been suspended by the NHL but must meet with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman to discuss the situation before the Capitals open training camp on Sept. 13.
Kuznetsov was tested on May 26 at the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship where he was representing Russia.

Adam Lowry will have a hearing with NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday.
The Winnipeg Jets forward is facing discipline for boarding Calgary Flames defenseman Oliver Kylington on Saturday.
The incident occurred in the Flames zone at 20:00 of the second period during Winnipeg's 2-1 overtime win at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan, in the 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic. Lowry received a two-minute minor penalty for boarding. Kylington continued to play the rest of the game.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.

NEW YORK - Vegas Golden Knights forward Valentin Zykov has been suspended for 20 games, without pay, for violating the terms of the NHL/NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the suspension is accompanied by mandatory referral to the NHL/NHLPA Program for Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health for evaluation and possible treatment.
The National Hockey League will have no further comment on this matter.
Golden Knights statement on Zykov
The Vegas Golden Knights issued the following statement, today, October 17, regarding the suspension of Valentin Zykov:
"We were notified by the NHL and NHLPA that Valentin has violated the terms of the NHL/NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program. We monitor the nutrition, supplement intake, and overall diet of our athletes on a continual basis throughout our entire season. Valentin knowingly used a banned substance without the consent, recommendation or knowledge of our team. We support the NHL/NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program and respect the decision here."
The NHL announced today, October 17, that Zykov has been suspended for 20 games, without pay, for violating the terms of the NHL/NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program.
Statement from Valentin Zykov:
"I've been informed that I am being suspended for 20 games under the NHL/NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program. While I haven't been able to discover how I tested positive, I understand that I am responsible for what is in my body and will accept this penalty. I want to apologize to my family, my teammates, and the Golden Knights organization and fans. I will work hard during my suspension to ensure that I put myself in the best possible position to contribute to my team when my suspension is over."

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Rockford IceHogs forward Dylan Sikura has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of a high-sticking incident in a game vs. San Antonio on Oct. 30.
Sikura was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 21.1 after being assessed a match penalty. He will miss Rockford’s game Saturday (Nov. 2) vs. Iowa.

TORONTO - Washington Capitals forward Garnet Hathaway has been suspended for three games, without pay, for a spitting incident involving Anaheim defenseman Erik Gudbranson during NHL Game No. 316 in Washington on Monday, Nov. 18, the National Hockey League announced today.  
The incident occurred at 19:26 of the second period. Hathaway was assessed a match penalty.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Hathaway will forfeit $24,193.53. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

NEW YORK - Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno has been suspended for three games, without pay, for elbowing Colorado Avalanche forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare during NHL Game No. 260 in Denver on Saturday, Nov. 9, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 17:15 of the second period. Foligno was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for charging.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Foligno will forfeit $88,709.67. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

NEW YORK - Winnipeg Jets forward Adam Lowry has been suspended for two games, without pay, for boarding Calgary Flames defenseman Oliver Kylington during NHL Game No. 168 in Regina, Sask., on Saturday, Oct. 26, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 19:58 of the second period. Lowry was assessed a minor penalty for boarding.
Lowry is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, will forfeit $71,138.22. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

The ECHL announced on Saturday that Newfoundland’s Matt Bradley has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #57, Newfoundland at Maine, on Oct. 25.
Bradley was assessed a match penalty for fighting under Rule #46.15 at 16:02 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Bradley will miss Newfoundland’s game at Maine tonight (Oct. 26).
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.

Dustin Byfuglien has been suspended by the Winnipeg Jets for not reporting to training camp.
The defenseman was granted a personal leave of absence last Friday, the day the Jets opened training camp, and was suspended Saturday. The suspension was confirmed by coach Paul Maurice on Sunday.
"It's absolutely procedural and Dustin was aware of it," Maurice said.
Byfuglien met with Maurice on Thursday before his leave of absence continued into its second week.
"I'm not making any comments," Maurice said Friday. "He's got a life. I love the guy. I sat down and had a wonderful conversation with him yesterday, and it was great. That's it."

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:
Laval Rocket forward Michael McCarron has been suspended for two (2) games as a consequence of an interference incident in a game vs. Providence on Oct. 18.
McCarron will miss Laval’s games Oct. 23 at Belleville and Oct. 25 at Hartford.
Grand Rapids Griffins forward Givani Smith has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of a clipping incident in a game at Texas on Oct. 19.
Smith will miss Grand Rapids’ game Oct. 23 vs. Milwaukee.
Colorado Eagles forward A.J. Greer has been suspended for six (6) games and Milwaukee Admirals defenseman Jarred Tinordi has been suspended for three (3) games as a consequence of their actions in a game between the teams on Oct. 19.
Greer will miss Colorado’s games Oct. 25 and Oct. 26 vs. San Jose; Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 at San Diego; and Nov. 5 and Nov. 6 vs. Ontario.
Tinordi has already served one game of his suspension; he will also miss Milwaukee’s games Oct. 23 at Grand Rapids and Oct. 25 vs. Texas.

NEW YORK - The National Hockey League announced today that Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov has been suspended, without pay, for three regular-season games for inappropriate conduct. The Commissioner's determination came following an in-person meeting in New York on Monday, Sept. 9 with Kuznetsov and NHLPA representatives.
Kuznetsov has informed the League through the NHLPA that he will not be appealing his suspension. The League will have no further comment.
