thoschei moment. twin celestial bodies on a collision course, two beings as powerful as gods sowing carnage in their wake: as one incessantly searches and creates, the other desperately ruins and destroys. they orbit one another for all eternity but even the slightest touch would bring about mutual annihilation. whenever one is imprisoned the other frees them from their cage fully conscious of the damage it will cause and both have left their home planet in ashes. they can never be together the consequences would be disastrous they can never be apart it always culminates in catastrophe. the impossible magnetic force pushing them together and pulling them away is locked in place forever as they burn through the vacuum of space

'Bad Wolf, Torchwood, Saxon... now "The One Who Waits" appears to be joining the ranks of Doctor Who story arcs teased by writer/showrunner Russell T Davies.
The Giggle – the third and last of the show's 60th anniversary specials – saw the Doctor (David Tennant) once again face off with old foe The Toymaker (now played by Neil Patrick Harris).
The events of previous episode Wild Blue Yonder saw the Doctor unwittingly allow the Toymaker – an elemental force who exists beyond the rules of the universe – entry into our universe.
In The Giggle, the cruel Toymaker was able to provoke the Doctor into challenging him to a game – as the two prepared to match wits, the villain taunted the Time Lord with tales of his accomplishments.
"I came to this universe with such delight," he said. "I played them all, Doctor – I toyed with supernovas, turned galaxies into spinning tops, I gambled with God and made him a jack-in-the-box."
We even discover that The Master – last played by Sacha Dhawan in last year's The Power of the Doctor – fell foul of the Toymaker, losing a game to the villain and ending up trapped, apparently for all eternity.
But then, the Toymaker makes a confession: "There's only one player I didn't dare face – The One Who Waits.
"I saw it, hiding, and I ran."
The Doctor attempts to question the Toymaker further, but he shrugs off his earlier comments, telling his nemesis: "That's someone else's game."
So who is The One Who Waits?
The Toymaker is established as having power almost without limit, able to manipulate the atoms of the universe and conjure up his own magical domain – in The Giggle, we saw a shaken Doctor uncertain if he'll be able to best his enemy once again.
The fact then that, whoever or whatever they are, The One Who Waits is capable of striking fear into the heart of the Toymaker is pretty terrifying. Could an even more powerful being exist in the Whoniverse?
Interestingly, in a social media post made in October, the official Doctor Who account appeared to refer to the Toymaker himself as "the one who waits" – but it's made clear in The Giggle that he's referring not to himself but to some other figure.
Of course, the Toymaker isn't the only all-powerful, ever-living being to exist in the worlds of Doctor Who...
Making their debut in the 1983 story Enlightenment, the Eternals are a race of elemental beings of immense power, capable of manipulating matter and creating objects out of thin air.
These amoral creatures act purely for their own amusement, manipulating "Ephemerals" (read: mortal beings) for fun.
Then there are the Guardians, who first appeared in Doctor Who's 16th season in 1978, a series of interlinked stories which saw the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) on a quest to find the legendary Key to Time.
Transcendental beings who embodied aspects of the universe, immortal and indestructible, we met the White Guardian (Cyril Luckham) – who represented light, order and structure – and his eternal opponent the Black Guardian (Valentine Dyall) – the personification of darkness, entropy and chaos.
Most recently, 2020 episode Can You Hear Me? saw the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) and friends lured into a trap by Zellin (Ian Gelder), an immortal "god" who was haunting the dreams of humans, all to feed his beloved Rakaya (Clare-Hope Ashitey).
Could one of these creatures, or something like them, be "The One Who Waits"?
It's also possible, of course, that Russell T Davies has invented an entirely new menace. In the episode The Star Beast, The Meep (voiced by Miriam Margolyes) revealed itself to be in the employ of a figure it referred to as "the boss".
David Tennant later admitted that he remains oblivious to the identity of "the boss", which suggested that this reveal would be held back until Ncuti Gatwa's time in the TARDIS.
The Meep's admission and the Toymaker's confession in The Giggle could be the start of something much larger and entirely unexpected...'

Not sure if this has been said before, and it's been a while since I watched the episode, but do we think the warring planets The Master takes Yaz to visit are the same ones from Can You Hear Me?

So I decided to do some googling on Rasputin just to satisfy my curiosity. While i did so I noticed an ad for the Doctor Who Magazine.
Tumblr media
In the latest issue of the Doctor Who magazine we see the master (Sacha Dhawan) dressed like Rasputin (with piercing blue eyes that Rasputin reportedly had)

Michelle Gomez and Sacha Dhawan Panel
Please note this IS NOT word for word, but so you can get a general gist of the panel. Both Michelle and Sacha were soooooo hilarious.
Whovians of all ages got to ask both of them questions.
This post is just Michelle’s and Sachs’s part of the panel there is a seperate post for Michelle’s panel and Sacha’s panel will be up in the next couple days!
Shouting from the back…
Sacha: Oh so boring!
Michelle: security, security!
Sacha walk to the stage
Michelle : Sacha Dhawan everyone!
Sacha: I was standing up the back and I thought… this is so boring…
(in a bad Scottish accent) “oh me and Peter Capaldi”
Michelle: laughing hard (can’t understand what she’s saying)
Sacha sitting down hugging Michelle
Sacha: so how are you?
Michelle: oh you know between here to hellish
Sacha: I thought I would join you
Michelle: if you thought it was boring then you’re gonna think it’s really boring now. Ok 2 for the price of 1
Moderator: I feel like a 3rd wheel… next question
Questioner: Green wing and the book club were on when I was young, do you take responsibility for warping a generation of millennials?
Michelle: yes, yes I do. I’ve landed myself in shows that are a little different.
Questioner: Missy has her own Audio series what was it like having her as the main character?
Michelle: well obviously it’s great to not have to put up with other people, lol. It’s brilliant because it keeps me connected to a world that I was thrilled to be part of and it’s a laugh because I live in NY and they record in London, so I’m in a booth in NY by myself.
Moderator walks off stage… feels like a 3rd wheel
Sacha takes over from the Moderator
Sacha: Alright let’s ask some real questions now!
Michelle: laughing again can’t understand what she’s saying
Moderator from the question line on the floor: long time watcher first time asker (room is laughing hysterically at this point) in green wing in your office after everyone has left there was scenes of you or you character doing some amazing weird and wonderful… disturbing things, who came up with that concept that your character is doing these obscure boarder line illegal things?
Michelle: I think at that point I was still learning how to be a professional so I was still feral at that point and they would lock the camera off in my office and then let me fuck around.
Questioner: Hi Michelle…. First of all Sacha don’t come for my girl, bro,
Sacha: yes I love it
Questioner: I’m Māori bro I’ll see you in the parking lot
Sacha: I love it… god it’s turning me on
Questioner: Fuck that was…
Crowd laughing hysterically can’t hear
Questioner: What’s the best acting advice you’ve been given throughout your career?
Michelle: if you’re serious about it don’t ever give up, there’s so much rejection, and it took me so long to get where I am today. Surround yourself with like minded people. And go to the theatre I feel like the real education is on stage.
Questioner: What was it like bringing a comedic edge to such a scary character in the flight attendant?
I’m classically trained and I did an Epsom play not known for it comedic tendencies, and the review came out and said Michelle Gomez plays one of the funniest performances in the Master Builder by Epsom, and I was like WHAT? I was quite offended, I don’t know I’m being funny is my answer to your question. Miranda in flight attendant was not meant to be funny she was meant to be very scary, thank you. (Laughing)
Questioner: Sacha when I was in line for my photo I asked about the Rasputin dance and you said you were saving it, is now the time?
Sacha: is it the time? You know when I did the dance I thought it was written in the script… but it wasn’t and for some reason I thought it said ‘the master dances’ I realise now everyone who was there that day must have been thinking ‘what is he doing?’ I don’t think I’ll be able to bust those moves out again. I remember we had 5 minutes to shoot that scene and under pressure it’s amazing what shapes you throw, I remember not being able to walk the next day.
Question asker: I think that’s the best Master moment to date… both cheers and boos from the audience, and a lot of laughter.
Sacha in a deep voice: Come here my boy
Michelle in a little voice: mmmk? (About the comment not coming to Sacha)
Questioner: I’m just wondering if it’s true you and Sacha are going to do a spin off called the Masters? (Please note the answer was in jest!)
Michelle:Um… oh… deny deny deny… um maybe 🤷……….. You heard it here first… maybe.
Questioner: Sacha I was wondering how it felt when you replaced Jodie Whittaker?
Sacha: ahhhh…
Michelle: oh fuck…
Sacha: we’ll I knew about it
Michelle: oh he knew about it (The love/hate flirting they do is comedy gold, the chemistry is on point)
Sacha: I knew it was going to happen a couple months before and before I played the Master I always thought I’d love to play the Doctor, I’d love to be able to do it. But obviously being the Master I thought there’s no way I’d ever be the Doctor so it was amazing that the opportunity came up and I LOVED IT. But I did realise the Doctor has way to much pressure, the Master can come in mess things up then leave because I don’t have to worry about the mess but the Doctor then has to clean it up, so as much as it was nice doing it for a bit I was happy to give it back to Jodie.
Questioner: What are your next projects?
Michelle: We have a strike at the moment so nothing.
Sacha: I’ve got a show coming out in the UK called Wolf it’s a dark detective series with a a black comedy element to it it comes out in July I think
Michelle: and are you playing a Wolf?
Sacha (side eyeing Michelle): no, lol
Questioner: This is for both of you last time Missy interacted with a master it was the simm!master
Michelle: oh yeah 🙄
Questioner: They had an interesting dynamic my question is what do you think the dynamic between your Masters would be like?
Michelle: you’ll have to watch and see (again this was in jest… maybe letting us know to message RTD more to get on it! Lol)
Sacha: I think it’s going to be very sexual, the Master is a little bit in love with himself so
Michelle: oh my god… ok… oh yeah it would be dead sexy
Sacha: and slightly violent
Michelle: what is wrong with you…😏 ok honey 😎
Questioner: If your 2 Masters were on scene together what chaos do you think they would get up to that isn’t… that? (Again the answer is in jest)
Michelle: You’ll have to watch and see I don’t think you understand you’re getting an exclusive here. What would we get up to? Hmmm… you understand we’re actors we don’t really say the cruel stuff that’s written for us.
Sacha: what chaos would you like to see us get up to?
Questioner: I don’t know… kidnapping the Doctor doing crazy stuff…
Michelle: oh that’s what you mean, oh right yes, I see what you mean, so I’d stick him in a trunk and drive him to Paris and we’d have lunch and then we’d let the Doctor out and he’d have to get his own way home, and then we’d travel back in time and we’ll take you with us and we’ll go to the 1920s and we would be in Jazz club.
Questioner: what mundane superpower would you have?
Michelle: I hate emptying the dishwasher, I don’t mind loading it, but I don’t like rinsing that annoys me too so anything to do with the dish washer. Dishes are dumb.
Someone in the crowd; get Sacha to do it
Moderator: you know they don’t live together? Laughing
Sacha: after a night out when I’m a little drunk and I need to get home, in London getting home is a nightmare so if I could just click my fingers and be in bed
Michelle: whose bed?
Laughing so loud can’t hear what is said
Questioner: Which other masters have you meet in real life?
Sacha: I worked with Derek Jacobi, but I’ve not met anyone else, I did try following John Simm on instagram but he didn’t follow me back, that was a bit awkward
Moderator pointing at Michelle covertly trying to remind Sacha that he’s met her now
Sacha: oh yeah we’ve met (looking at Michelle)
Michelle: ummm… I did a season with John Simm, so you got 2 for the price of 1 there… I like to mess about a little bit between takes, and I thought this was very funny… John didn’t… I got someone from catering to get me a pear and I stuck it down my top, cos he had to go down and get a locket and so he pulled out the pear… because I have a lovely pear…
Questioner: that’s awesome
Michelle: I thought so.
Questioner: if you ever get a chance to meet Eric Roberts, he just came to Armageddon, I could have looked in his eyes all day long, I hope you get to meet him one day too.
Sacha: I just realised I did meet Eric Roberts actually (crowd laughs at his inability to remember the Masters he’s met)
Questioner: did could you look in his eyes all day
Sacha: no, but he’s very handsome and super lovely as well.
Moderator: did you know he had played the Master?
Sacha: I do now… (laughing) no I did, I did know (crowd is skeptical, Michelle looking off going lalalalala)
Questioner: With you Michelle we had our first female master and then with you Sacha our first non white Master, and then it feels like the Doctor is just copying you now that we had a woman Doctor and now a non white Doctor. How does it feel that the Doctor is just copying the Master now?
Sacha: I think not necessarily just with me as the Master or with Jodie, I think being part of Doctor who this time around it felt like the show creates some extreme worlds but it keeps an eye on what’s going on in the world generally and I think that’s, I’m really proud to be a part of it in that way. I’ve mentioned earlier I wanted to be part of the whoniverse maybe years earlier but actually being part of it this time round felt right and I kind of, even though I have some extreme storyline’s with Jodie about Gallifrey, I don’t know, I always thought about what was going on in the world and I think the show reflects that and I wanted to reflect that in my performance as well so I feel immensely proud about that.
Michelle: similarly for me it really felt like it was time to shake things up, why can’t the master be a woman? Be a mistress? And I felt like I got a lot of love from the transgender community and I get it, I understand it, like being an Uber nerd growing up and not feeling like I fit in, so I felt like I was paying homage to that in a big way. It felt like it was time, like it was current. Steven Moffatt always said it was the best person for the job at the time it didn’t matter (if it was a man or a woman)
*Coming soon… there will be a part 3 with Sacha… I just don’t have time to post now as I’m heading back home from this iconic trip, so Sachas panel will be a couple days away and Part 1 with just Michelle is already up.
Some random notes:
Let’s just say our little spy master isn’t afraid let his feminine self shine, lol. They have a really funny and flirty chemistry together.
They were sat next to each other at the autograph tables with a volunteer between each actor, Sacha and the volunteer swapped spots so Sacha and Michelle could sit next to each other where Michelle proceed to write on posit notes and throw them at him, and they were quiet funny together sitting there.

To give my general 13 Who feelings since I asked:
Ryan was my favorite Chibnall era companion though I suspect Tosin probably felt pretty burned by lack of material and hope he's on to better things that make him happier. He's quite a good actor IMO. Makes a lot of interesting choices when left to the background.
Dan and Graham were both quite charming but just not character types I need from stories right now. Dan also really suffered from not getting, like, any breathing room as a character. It ends up feeling like after Brian Williams, Chibnall needed a comfort older white dude in the TARDIS.
Yaz I like on paper but never felt like she got the focus or exploration the many interesting things about her deserved. Can You Hear Me was a very clever retcon to explain her lack of material in series 11 in addition to being poignant though it does totally change her from the character introduced in Woman Who Fell to Earth.
I like the idea of the Timeless Child and the opportunities it offers and relate a surprising amount to the whole forgotten child childhood trauma questions about identity, but think it stalled on examining that after the quite underrated Once, Upon Time.
Sacha Dhawan is a superb actor who elevated a lot but I did not care at all for the direction the Master was taken in. The lack of acknowledgment of Missy was painful, the Nazi stuff doubly so, and the redestriction of Gallifrey just annoying.
Jodie Whittaker is wonderful and very Doctory. I wish she could have played more range though and really wanted to see her play a fuller relationship plot because I love the Doctor in that kind of thing and think she'd have nailed it.
Loved the sonic. Didn't love the TARDIS. Liked series 12, apart from Spyfall part 2. Thought Resolution and Eve of the Daleks were fantastic. Complicated feelings about Flux and how it all in my view fell apart (well documented that Chibnall wrote it while it went and it shows). Thought series 11 was the right idea but didn't think it was good enough overall.
Really enjoyed writers like Vinay Patel, Ed Hime, Joy Wilkinson, Maxine Alderton, and Nina Metivier contributing, and even controversially Pete McTighe, though I wish they got a bit more polish the way RTD or Moffat added sparkle to their guest writers. It's probably not fair to expect Chris Chibnall to meet the dialogue crispness of two of the best living British TV writers who proceeded him. It's not that he's bad, but Moffat and Davies are really special talents on that front and a tough act to follow.
Thought the best director of the era was Nida Manzoor and hope they get her back. Also loved Wayne Yip again but sounds like he didn't love doing it.
Some episodes and elements I really liked but overall the era of modern Who I'm coolest on. Still would take it over several classic runs any day.

Okay so first thoughts after watching Power of the Doctor, featuring some things I screamed while watching (Spoilers):
-start of the episode is a bit clunky but not a terrible reintroduction to the CyberMasters
-Sacha Dhawan absolutely fucking annihilates every scene he's in my god. Goes absolute apeshit nuts. I love it
-THE CLASSIC MASTER LINES
-AAAAAACE!!!!! TEEEEEGAAAAANNN!!!!
-CLASSIC COMPANIONS MY BELOVEDS!
-Dan...:( really got a short end of the stick I feel like. Kind of abrupt. He and Yaz def had a stronger bond so I like they had a nice goodbye but. Man that felt so cut off.
-I bet the Four inside Thirteen felt(tm) that poor Dalek, knowing that it was right that they failed their original purpose to help the Kaleds survive. "That poor Dalek" my god but I did feel so bad :(
-the way Ace calls The Master out on being a catboy cleared my acne, watered my crops, boosted my serotonin
-also the unhinged way The Master was so delighted that the armed troops were for him. Am I gOIng tO UNIT??? You doughnut. Bastard man. I can't help but enjoy watching you chew up every scene!!
-VINDER!!!!
-YAZ FLYING THE TARDIS YAZ FLYING THE TARDIS!!! THE TARDIS LISTENING TO YAZ!!!
-the fucking memes don't even do it justice. The Master fucking blasting Rasputin. Was playing Rasputin just a cover so he could blast this song? I would believe it. It's absolutely 10000% in character.
-oh SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT!!!!!!!!!! DHAWAN!DOCTOR!MASTER???!!
-Don't mind me casually breaking the sound barrier when 5 shows up to Tegan and mentions Adric. A single word. A single name. And I screech loud enough to hear 10 miles away.
-KATE STEWART DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE AND YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO MAKE SURE YOUR PEOPLE ARE OKAY FIRST BEFORE YOU GO ANYWHERE YOU DOUGHNUT!!!!!!!
-Yaz my angel my beloved you rockstar FUCK HIM UP <3
-sidebar Sacha Dhawan rocks in 13's outfit (and maybe that's why the Beeb was afraid of DT in it...too much power 😔). And then that fucking mismatch. The SWEATER. I CAN'T.
-8 ILYSM bb your sass always appreciated. Bonus, CLASSIC DOCTORS BABEY!!!
-sideside note. Sentient energy creature thing? Cool af. Wish we got a tad bit more time exploring that but only so much time alas.
-Yaz you brilliant love. And VINDER!!! I'M FREELANCE!!! HELL YEAH YOU ARE GET HIS ASS!!!!
-RUTH FUGITIVE DOCTOR HELLO BB YOU SLAY EVEN AS A HOLOGRAM
-dont make me go back to being me ow wow that actually hurt a bit, and that's how this Master does actually come from Missy
-ACE!!!!!!! SEVEN!!!! AND GRAHAM!!!! GRAHAM BOY!!!!!!! HELLO!!! SHOW EM HOW YOU DID IT IN 1963!
-you made Adric proud Tegan....even if he would be too much of a little shit to say so off the bat, he'd be proud of you....
-Kate's point to herself. That "me?" Moment. My god. Did no one ever take her in the TARDIS? (Stares at 11 and 12)
-Using the Master's TARDIS against his plan (again), excellent. Actual solving of the whole CyberMasterDalek plan? A little shaky. But I'll allow it. Thanks to "a bit crowded. Just how I like it" 13. Honey. Are we having Journey's End flashbacks and missing all your friends in a TARDIS? :( is this a sign
-oof fuck ow ouch I half expected her to be sliced in half with that ray beam but fjdgkd watching too much Vox Machina lately and forgot for a sec that BBC would never be that brutal and I'm glad--
-because we got the CARRY!!! THE LIFT!!! THEM!!!!!!
-hi can you hear the sound of my heart breaking into one million pieces seeing Yaz finally start crying after being so brave and put together through everything. Knowing after everything she STILL loses her Doctor. I'm not okay. I'm not okay!!!!!!! I want more time with her too Yaz!!!! Right here with you!!!!
-"i loved being with you, Yaz" don't!! Mind!! Me!! Screaming crying throwing up!!!!
-still could have at least kissed her hand but. Mmmmmmm the way they look at each other. The way they both acknowledged the love they feel. But Chibnall and BBC are still cowards.
-classic companions!!!!!!!!! Way to bring back the OG holy fuck
-Dan sitting in a room as the newest companion with one of the FIRST companions. Iconic.
-"Look after the next one" HONEY!!!! I'M NOT READY!!!!!
-"Tag, you're it" WHAT A LINE. WHAT A LAST LINE. I'M STILL NOT READY BUT GOD DAMN.
-!and that sunrise regeneration shot!!! Absolutely fucking breathtaking!!!! In tears!!!
-aaannnd then the twist. Clothes regen def throws me a sign that This Is Wrong. We saw MULTIPLE REGENS here my dudes and clothes did not change. This is Important.
- Also fuck off RTD, respectfully, but DT is not Fourteen. He doesn't get to have two whole numbered lives after *everything else he got already.* Fourteen is Ncuti thank you the fuck much. He was announced first, and we all celebrated him as 14 first. So there.

Why I love Sacha Dhawan as the Master #56: The faces he makes when he zaps the Doctor!
The list is BAAAAAACK, folks! Now that gifs of The Power of the Doctor are appearing, it’s time to continue my illustrated list of reasons I love the Spymaster!
In no particular order, here is an illustrated list of reasons I love Sacha Dhawan’s Master, most of which boil down to the way that Sacha Dhawan so expertly embodies the Master to such a degree that we can look  into this character’s mind as we never have before.
Find my full series under the HELP I WUVS HIM tag or at the why I love Dhawan Master tag.
#56: The faces that he makes when he zaps the Doctor!
Tumblr media
Crying in sadness, humiliation, and pain. I feel like Thirteen is saying, "You lost this contest," but he's hearing it as, "You lost me."
Tumblr media
Focusing on the Doctor's message -- that he's dying.
Tumblr media
Zeroing in on the Doctor with some direct, heartsfelt, serious eye contact.
Tumblr media
Looking at his TCE, apparently feeling some grief [?] over what he's about to do.
Tumblr media
He's just so tired here, the shadows under his eyes almost black, his body quivering with the effort of holding it together. He's gritting his teeth as he shoots the Doctor, but this seems to be less a sneer of contempt and more him grinding his teeth with the effort that this last motion takes.
In this scene, the Spymaster feels control, life, and the Doctor slipping away from him. He knows that, because his body is "failing," he's dying and regenerating. He thinks that his time at the Spymaster is at an end, so he makes a power play and forces regeneration, but now it's Thirteen's. He hopes that they'll die at the same time. They'll end these selves simultaneously. The Doctor may be leaving him, but, if she's going down too, just like the Spymaster, they will, in some fucked up way, be together. Maybe then she'll know what it's like to be him. [Spoiler: She will not, in fact, know what it's like to be him.]
God, and I thought he looked devastated and overcome in The Timeless Children. Nope, he's achieving new lows of desperation here. 📉🥺😢😭
Sometimes I think that at least 15% of the Spymaster's seething pain would resolve if he showered regularly, did laundry, ate regular meals, and slept a decent amount.
Massive props to Sacha Dhawan for making the Master's psychic turmoil exquisitely obvious through the meticulous transparency of his expressive, mobile face!

My tribute to Chibnall/Whittaker who
I remember watching “witch finders” and “can you hear me” and “Halloween apocalypse” and “village of the angels”, these were and still are incredible episodes to me, I always hear people say that this era had nothing to offer but I’m sorry, that’s just not true, it gave us Sacha Dhawan’s master, the best weeping angel episode, the first serialised season, two brilliant Doctor incarnations, one of my favourite characters of the whole show with Dan and some of the longest running plotlines in years. These are what I’m looking back on, because every Era is a pile of good things and and bad things and Chibnall’s era certainly had more good things than bad.
David Tenant is my favourite Doctor but he’s not what I’m most looking forward to in this special, I’m looking forward to the last adventure of these characters I love, seeing Whittaker give one last powerhouse performance, seeing everything the crew has worked on for five years come to fruition.
This era gave us
Five amazing years
Five specials
Four companions
Three seasons
Two doctors
One amazing story
Goodbye Chibnall
Goodbye Jodie
Goodbye Mandip
Goodbye John

{edit note: I’m going to compile a list of every single Doctor Who episode, short, mini, special & spin-off in one place that I started back in 2019. These posts are going to be by season, I’ll be working on getting caught up and then go back and transfer my posts here…}
Doctor Who Season 12 (13th)
DW 1201-Spyfall Pt 1
Oh. My. God. I won’t spoil it, but the ending of this episode is BONKERS. 😭 I am SO PROUD of Chibnall for actually writing a decent episode with STAKES AGAIN!😭 I warms my 2 hearts so much! Decent build up too. Still wish the gang all had more downtime but 🤷🏼‍♀️
Tumblr media
DW 1202-Spyfall Pt 2
Sacha Dhawan as the Master is my kind of energy. I ❤️ his chemistry with the Doctor. I definitely appreciated the female representation of history, but the story itself was a bit clunky. Still, fun! Who is this timeless child anyway? I’ve heard of it before but 🤷🏼‍♀️
Tumblr media
DW 1203-Orphan 55
Come for the twist, stay for the guilt!
To be fair, Jodie has gathered a whole young fanbase that probably needs a tiny lesson shoehorned in for their own good. Probably. It’ll be better if they tied this ep to a future one, so we’ll see I guess. Bonus: Sassy Doctor is back!
Tumblr media
DW 1204-Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror
This one is just ok, but this usually happens midseason. I kept thinking the scorpion aliens were the Racnoss & got excited; they aren’t.😒 OMG, scorpion queen? Our own Anj Mohindra back in the Whoniverse! She rocked it! I miss Rani & SJA 😢
Tumblr media
DW 1205-Fugitive of the Judoon
Still, as shocking as the climax was, it still felt a bit...done before? I dunno. We had the war doctor. We had the chameleon circuit. I’m glad for the call backs. I guess I’m happy they didn’t already replace the Master!
Tumblr media
DW 1206-Praxeus
So...um ok? We just aren’t going to address the last ep? We’re gonna get another shoehorned environmental message? Cool, cool. Except this ep was balls. The story was so sloppy, I hated it. It really should have been Autons, that would have been so much better.
Tumblr media
DW 1207-Can You Hear Me?
This was a better ep for sure. We got a little more backstory on each of our mains (why is it so hard to write for them? Why do the writers insist on keeping them dull and one dimensional?) and the villain was very good. But still no answers? Cmon!
Tumblr media
DW 1208 - The Haunting of Villa Diodati
I did like this one. I think after my 2 year hiatus of watching Doctor Who, I have a bit different perspective. Still not a massive fan of Jodie’s Doctor, but that’s mostly because she doesn’t ever give this serious air when things in the story get grim. It never feels like there are any stakes. This one was good though. Not a fan of the cyberman plot at all, but liked the Mary Shelley/Lord Byron plot. To see them as just flippant rich people (which they were irl) is really funny to me. Creative and brilliant yes, but also a tad shallow at times. Nobody’s perfect haha.
Tumblr media
DW 1209 - Ascension of the Cybermen

Okay so I have several thoughts about POTD and I want to discuss everything I can remember. I’m afraid I’ve forgotten a lot of the episode already due to goldfish brain though. Also my thoughts will be out of order because I also can’t remember the order of events.
So, as someone who has never seen Classic Who, I would say Sarah Jane, Jo, Susan, and Ace are the classic companions I know the most about. So seeing Ace throughout the episode was really fun and had me wanting to see more of her. Jo’s cameo at the end was really exciting too. As for Tegan, all I knew about her was that she was Australian, a former air hostess, and is canonically married to Nyssa. This was basically a Tegan introduction for me, and all I have to say is BBC PLEASE give Ace and Tegan a spin off, they were both amazing and I loved their scenes together so much. It was a bit disappointing never hearing Nyssa being mentioned (unless I missed it, in which case... sorry Nyssa). The companion support group at the end annoyed me a little because it was just “here are 13′s companions and the classic companions” and completely ignoring 9-12′s companions. It does make sense, though, because most of them can be explained away such as Rose being in the parallel world, Donna not being able to remember her time, Clara returning to her death point or still travelling with Ashildr, and Bill and Nardole being dead. As for Martha, Amy, and Rory, Freema and Karen film a lot more in America now and probably couldn’t take time to travel, and I assume they wouldn’t have wanted Arthur back without Karen.
I had mixed feelings about the edge of existence thing because I love the idea of former Doctors helping the current one through the regeneration process, but there was a line that said something like “once you go past here, there is no turning back” and it didn’t make sense to me because, if a Doctor can’t come back, then how are all of you here to share that message? And how is David Tennant back as the Doctor? Overall though, I loved that part of the story and it was nice to see so many versions of the Doctor returning.
Before I start this paragraph, I want to preface saying I LOVE SACHA DHAWAN! I love the Dhawan Master! HOWEVER, I felt like there was too much of the Master in an episode titled Power of the Doctor. Yes, it made my heart happy to see Sacha in the episode. Yes, I want him to play the Master for 5-20 more years because I love his acting so much. But still, the story just felt too Master-heavy for me. It also felt like the Daleks were basically sidekicks in this episode, maybe they should’ve taken some of the Masters scenes and given them to the Daleks to make them more scary. Still, it did make me happy because Sacha is an amazing actor and I loved seeing him featured. (Side note: The Rasputin dancing scene was 10/10. I love that insane man.)
The lack of the Fugitive Doctor is probably what bothered me the most about this episode. From what I can remember, she only got one scene. One, or even two, scene(s) is not nearly enough for a.) the talent of Jo Martin, who should have her own spin off or b.) the actual character of the Fugitive Doctor, who is a very important aspect of the Doctor’s history. WHY did they not have David Bradley and Jo Martin in a scene together?! That would’ve been such a great scene to watch! Anyway, I have to end my Fugitive Doctor rant because I could literally spend hours talking about her if I don’t stop myself.
Also, a few thoughts about the Doctor’s species: I honestly thought the people on the ship at the beginning of the episode were of that species because of the “that energy... they’re regenerating” line, which made me think they knew about regeneration because they could regenerate. Plus, they were carrying the Qurunx, which had taken the form of a child who I presumed to be the Timeless Child. And, really, it’s not entirely impossible that the Qurunx is the Doctor’s species. If the Timeless Child had taken the form of a child in order to be rescued by Tecteun, it could be that former incarnations of the Doctor were then forced to remain in a humanoid figure. I also like the theory that Bel (who should have been in the episode and was very missed by me, in part due to me being slightly very in love with her) and Vinder are the Doctor’s parents, which I wish would have been confirmed at some point in the episode.
I’ve loved the entirety of Jodie’s era, but even I have to admit it did kind of feel like the show was going downhill despite my love for it remaining strong. Which, honestly, it’s not that surprising that I (and many others) felt that way. Even if we ignore the Classic years, the show is still nearing 20 years on air with 13 series and countless specials and it’s to be expected that a show would hit a lull after so long on air. But this episode, to me, felt like the early years of the revival when everything was fresh and exciting.
Overall, this was a great episode (honestly maybe one of my favorites of the entire show) and the minor issues I had with it don’t make it any less exciting. I’m going to miss Jodie and Mandip so much, but I look forward to David and Catherine’s return as well as Ncuti and Yasmin’s entries. I’d love to see Sacha and Jo return to their roles in RTD2, but I’m not very hopeful of either of them returning, so I’ll say now that I thought they both added such amazing performances to this era and their presence will be greatly missed.

The Power of the Doctor
I’m so late, I came home at 8:30 but I can at least watch the rest of the episode!
I have no clue what happened in the first half hour. I fully expect to be confused.
Heeyyyyy it’s my baby the Master. He’s a professor now. Nice. Oh I missed the whole Rasputin plotline apparently. Erased from existence. Interesting. She WANTS her companion to have a gun?? ”I said I’m in your head, dear.” Vinder! That looks like the Death Star. A TARDIS. WHICH DOCTOR IS IT? IS IT FOURTEEN? I HOPE IT’S FOURTEEN. OR FUGITIVE DOCTOR/RUTH??? TEGAN AND ACE! YAY! And my girl Kate. Brilliant as always. She’s still calling the Doctor “Professor”!?!?!?! I’m gonna sob. Help me oh my god. I wish I got to see the first half hour to hear Ace call her that for the first time. Why is the Doctor staticky? I really missed a lot I guess. Why Bolivia? It’s just now coming to me, what did Yaz think of meeting other companions? Did that make her have a “I really am not the only one” moment? OH NO THE LONE CYBERMAN. OH NO WAIT IT’S WORSE JUST A SHELL TO TRANSPORT OTHERS. OH AND THE LONE CYBERMAN’S REALLY THERE TOO. These Cybermen learned how to shoot from Stormtroopers. Ok Ashad knows how to aim. Wait. WAIT. Where’s Dan in all of this? Where’s our beloved himbo? God I love Sacha as the Master so much. Oof. Forced regeneration. “They did that to you once. Or more than once. Who knows? Not you.” Rude. But true. I WAS HOPING WE’D HEAR THIS SONG. Yes. Good. What is this cell phone Vinder has? Did I forget this from Flux, or was it from the first half hour? Where are Bel and the baby anyway? Daleks and Cybermen judging the Master’s dancing. Love it. Plot twist prediction: What if Tennant is playing the Master in the special that was just filmed? That’d be fun. I’d prefer that. WEIRD. But honestly it’s sort of adorable to see him in Thirteen’s outfit. So. Does that make this number Fourteen... I am... confused. ACE’S JACKET??!?!?!?!??!?!?  “Beyonce copied all my moves.” YES SHE DID. NO. NO NO NO. NOT THE MISHMASH OF COSTUMES. I LOVE IT. BUT ALSO IT’S DISGRACEFUL THAT IT’S HIM IN THE CLOTHES. BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT AT THE SAME TIME. Four’s scarf, Seven’s vest, Five’s celery, Ten’s tie, Thirteen’s coat, and Twelve’s pants. I love it. NO NOT TWO’S RECORDER. That hurts me. But I love it.
Stupid me decided to refresh my dashboard so I saw a post that involved a gif of Ten I assume from this episode, being compared to other scenes but I scrolled before properly seeing which scenes. Oh well. Whatever.
Are we finally gonna see Howl’s Floating Castle with all of the Doctor’s past lives? IT’S HIM. IT’S ONE. LOOK AT HIM. DAVID BRADLEY YOU ALWAYS MAKE ME CRY. I’M ALMOST MAD TO SEE YOU BUT I’M SO HAPPY. SIX!!??!!??!? FIVE?!?!?!!??!!?!? EIGHTTTTTT?!?!?!?!!??! MY LOVE!?!?!?!?!?! SEVEN?!!?!??!?! EIGHT DOESN’T DO ROBES. GOD I LOVE EIGHT SO MUCH. LOOK AT HIM. HE’S HERE. ON MY TV. TELL ME WHY WE GOT OLD WHO DOCTORS IN THIS SPECIAL BUT NOT IN THE 50TH!??!?!?!  Is Tom Baker going to show up? I’m not surprised he’s not here but I’d love if he was. My god I love Paul McGann as Eight. So much. It’s the voice. Yes bad way to start a hologram message Doctor. OH THAT’S WHAT’S WITH THE STATIC. Oh good Vinder. Where’s Dan in all of this, seriously? Was that explained at the start and I missed it? Tegan’s great. I’ve seen none of her original run. But she’s great. Kate, my girl, don’t die. Please.
I’m still reeling from all the Old Who Doctors. Especially Eight. But also oh my god.
Chibnall really achieved what Moffat didn’t even dare to try for the 50th. Chibnall: 1, Moffat: 0.
Cute, falling into the TARDIS. Like River diving into the pool. “Wicked.” She’s so great. Dhawan!Master has always had a weird fixation on Yaz. TEGAN GETS TO TALK TO FIVE. HE’S IN THE OUTFIT. I’M SAD. AND SO HAPPY. LOOK AT HIM. “YEAH? WHAT AM I THINKING SEEING ALL THESE CYBERMEN?” “...Adric.” OH GOD NO DON’T BRING UP ADRIC. That was such a sweet emotional scene. And now Ace’s turn? I’m already sad. “You never failed me, Professor.” Help. “All children leave home sooner or later, the joy is to watch them fly.” Now there’s a quote. “We’re ace.” God that must have been incredible for the fans from the 80s. GRAHAM?!?!?!!??!!?!?! AND HE’S USING THE PSYCHIC PAPER. YES. I knew he was supposed to show up in this special, but I wasn’t sure if I missed him already or not. MY GIRL THE FUGITIVE DOCTOR. “I’m the Doctor, mate. Who the hell are you?” MY GIRL. YES A HOLOGRAM. “I’m freelance.” Love Vinder. I love seeing Thirteen in this mishmash outfit. Yes. ”I thought that was a given.” Tegan, I love you. Has Kate never been in the TARDIS before???? Yeah where is Ryan? Too bad he wasn’t in this. ”How is it bigger on the inside?” How has she NEVER been in it? Moffat, you had so many chances to make that happen. Chibnall: 2. Moffat: 0. Don’t know where the Master’s TARDIS came from but oh well. I assume it was in the first 30 min. “Do you think we can let go yet?” Oh Graham. I closed my eyes and missed the Doctor and the Master both going down. YAZ CARRYING THIRTEEN. THIS NEVER HAPPENS. THE DOCTOR CARRIES THEIR COMPANIONS. “I need more time!” “I have loved being with you. And I have loved being me.” that’s a very Nine thing to say.
I’m so exhausted I dozed off for a minute or two when the Cyber planet thing started shooting, so that’s why I missed both the Doctor and the Master ending up on the floor. I have no clue what happened there.
But I’m awake. I need to be. She’s about to regenerate.
I know Thirteen’s probably about to regenerate into Ten, just from that spoiler gifset and him being in the next special, but I don’t want that. I love Tennant. I love Ten but I do not like Ten. And I don’t like that Fourteen is gong to have to share his first episode with Ten. It’s not fair to Ncuti.
DAN! MY BABY! YOUR’E ALIVE! THANK THE LORD. WITH GRAHAM. YAZ GETS HER EMOTIONAL SUPPORT OLDER MEN BACK! Is this a companion support group? IT IS. LOOK AT THEM ALL. “Look after the next one.” Ow my heart. If Martha walked in I’d sob. “Doctor Whoever I’m About to Be.” That’s great. I love it. Yeah see. I’m salty about this. Awww the teeth. “What. What!? WHAT?!” Ok that’s why I saw the gifset. That’s cute. Fine. You did the one funny Ten bit that I truly truly enjoy.
But I am still mad that RTD is doing this. Bringing back Ten for this. I don’t like it. Let Doctor Who do its thing to move into the next era without having to fall back on Ten. And let Ncuti as Fourteen get to shine on his own.
Ah the 50th Anniversary special is on now. And I forgot how much I love Clara’s theme. It’s truly just... so special to my heart. I love it. Aww and baby Eleven. Dare I watch this whole special now... for the billionth time... God I forgot how cute Eleven and Clara are. Stupid BBC-A’s captions says that Osgood said “mum” not “ma’am.” They should let me do the captions. Eleven hanging from the TARDIS. This was so cute. Ah. God. I’m getting NOSTALGIC for when this first aired. And when the first set pictures leaked. So cute. I might have to just keep watching this. Let me end this post here.
Overall. The Power of the Doctor, from the 75% I saw, was fun and sad and I am going to miss Thirteen. I just hate that I can’t even truly appreciate her departure since I’m salty about RTD bringing back Ten for no good reason. And no, the 60th is not a good enough reason to overshadow the first Black Doctor (of the main regeneration order) with fan service of bringing back another popular Doctor.
I loved the past companions. I LOVED seeing the Old Who Doctors more than I can even put into words. I am going to miss Jodie and Mandip. I’m going to miss Sacha and I hope they find a way to bring back his Master.
Another year until we get more Doctor Who. Another year until we PROPERLY get introduced to Ncuti. I hope they do him justice. I hope that the 60th anniversary special isn’t solely focused on Ten.
And Thasmin didn’t end up canon. Thirteen said she loved being with Yaz. And of course all the stuff in the Sea Devils. But that’s it. I didn’t truly expect it anyway, but I had hoped they’d actually address it.

Season 12 but The Master kept pretending to be O??
Basically self-indulgent Thoschei with a twist.
lots of typos bc?? i aint got time to go correct stuff yet? I will later??
So Spyfall is resolved, The Kasaavin are banished back to their realm and the Fam and Doctor are clueless as to the true mastermind, Barton taking the fall while the Master continues to pose ad O, having decided he’s enjoying the game of tricking her too much.
Perhaps among their texts they’ve grown close, or perhaps the brief time together in the outback led to events?? ;) But either way, he changes his mind mid plan and continues to act human.
Since he never leaves the message or has the confrontation in Paris, the doctor remains unaware of Gallifrey’s destruction. The fam wait off on asking their questions since she isn’t off with them.
Orphan 55 happens, and while the fam go do their shit, O stays with the Doctor bc admit it, she was like oh ;-; when everyone went to explore. My poor baby. So they hang out together before everything goes to shit, how cute?? Things get resolved, but with the revelation of one of earth’s potential fates, and the potential that the doctor lied about knowing, the fam decide to ask to know more about her. She shares what she believes its true at the time, being born on gallifrey and being a timelord, O looms in the background looking awkward bc he knows none of that is true and he feels horrible keeping the truth from her, it makes him as bad as the rest of the time lords- but he is selfish and he doesn’t want to stop what he’s doing, he’s started to really enjoy her company, its everything he’s ever wanted, every star.
And then it’s ruined when Yaz asks to see her own planet. Blissfully unaware of its destruction, she takes them, and so they’re right there with her when she sees, opens the doors to the rubble, the dying flames- and oh god. The fam are horrified, she’s horrified, O has to fake it, while being utterly glad those nasties are dead- maybe he gets to sneakily comfort hug her??? like she’s trying not to tear up even after that whole shit show of the confession dial, it was her home??so yeah he’s like hugging her but he’s so angry bc they dont deserve her tears??
The doctor is off after that, and the fam know why, and none of their words of comfort do much, because sure they’ve just witnessed the death of earth too but that is just one timeline, can be completely avoided, while gallifrey is gone forever, and she believes she’s once more the last of her kind. it hurts.
they visit tesla all the same, and when that big ass scorpion looking alien (bc im sorry i didnt like the episode and i’ve forgotten her name so....) mentions dead planets, she can feel the fam stiffen, as though the doctor is gonna blow at any minute, but she keeps calm, tries to bury the rage, but O can tell, can tell by the way her arms shake, hands clenched into fists in her pockets- and it hurts him to see her like this- the longer he spends around her, pretending to be someone he’s not, he’s just realizing more and more what a dumbass he is and that he’s still as in love with her now than he was all those years ago in the academy- none of the truth will change that-
and then boom the shit show with the judoon occurs and suddenly O is confused af because that Lee guy could ONLY have been him. Who else on gallifrey was stupid enough to hide out with the doctor, marry them and die for them?? him because he’s a dumbass? but he’s a dumbass who definitely doesnt remember this memories?? which theoretically in the doctors timeline should have been sometime after the division? or during? he’s not sure? but to his knowledge he shouldn’t have been alive at this stage? and now he’s not sure what the fuck HIS own life is too? did they take his memories from him too? has he lost part of his life? suddenly the truth doesnt seem as known as he thought- so while the doctor is reeling from the information of Ruth being her somehow? O is having his own mental crisis because what the fuck did they do to him too? what is he missing??
praxeus continues as similar as it did originally, O is only the tiniest impressed at Yaz, ever since Spyfall he’d sensed she was the human with the most potential to not be utterly worthless so he’s glad at least one of the doctors latest pets seems to have some initiative?? but yeah i dont wanna change much about praxeus? its not important- except the doctor saying she’s a romantic and the master wants that? wait what- he’s conflicted about his own thoughts? he wanted to break her, destroy her with the truth? but he also just wants to wrap her in his arms? make everything as okay as he can? what the fuck is even happening with him? jsut your usual ‘im a mess’ vibes lmao
when can you hear me? rolls around, it happens in a similar way, i dont wanna get to into it because i dont wanna think too much...the episode was weird, it was just weird-- i cant?? although maybe bc that zellin and the lady whose name i forgot...but they were immortal right?? maybe their species is the doctors species?? huh? huh? think about that- but don’t think too hard bc i hate that theory and i’m gonna pretend i never had that thought- lets just ignore can you hear me even though the end made me cry for yaz bc lol relatable sis, relatable. do whatever you want for this bit fam, idc.
Anyyyyyway. the bit I’m waiting for... Villa Diodati ;) O is ready to smack Byron round the face, fingers itching towards the tce everytime he tries to flirt with the doctor. the lone cyberman appears and wopdie doo earth is going to be destroyed and the doctor is about to do something stupid, thinking there is no other way? the master is like um lol change of plans i dont want the cybermen to win, look how in pain my baby theta is?? i gotta help?? oof? and idk, his patience is like nope all gone? and he whips out his TCE on the lone cyberman and boom. crisis averted? except now the doctor is looking at him in horror and shock and- she realizes who he is then and there, and normally he’d made a big drama out of his, throw in some words, a speech about how easy it was to deceive her, how he destroyed gallifrey- about how he was under her nose this whole time- but he doesn’t, instead he meets her gaze and can barely manage to whisper an “im sorry” and wow shit i wasn’t gonna write that version, i was gonna have feral confrontation but now im stanning a sad master who just needs a hug and some therapy because nothing makes sense, he thought he had everything figured out but he doesnt and he just wANTS HIS FRIEND BACK uiferkghlujkfaghjfkgladhfajkg; i m fine
i dont know what i wanna do after this point? it could go a lot of different ways?? but thoschei rights bitches. could go angst confrontation and then she abandons him in whatever century that was set bc wow i studied frankenstein in school but i couldnt tell you what century the author is from bc im dumb? 18th? maybe idk that seems likely? or 19th? but anyway yeah or maybe she’s just relieved someone else is alive? or is she shouting for answers or?? i dunno.... but woop ???
wow this turned into a big mess but hopefully you can kinda see where i wanna head with things? after this he’d probably show her the truth? i dunno how that’d go down, but he’d be there with her?? But anyway, this idea is free for anyone to write, but holla us a link and I'll give yall a free promo at the end of this post!!
Versions of this that yall Lovelies have blessed us with:
