The fight between Shiryu and Hyoga in the Asgard movie is so much fun because (1), is the only time we see the bronzes go head to head with eachother, and (2) you can tell that Shiryu doesn't want to fight his brother
Granted, he was in shock at the revelation, but he did fight anyway.
And I want to highlight the part where they fell into the water because that was a conscious decision
Shiryu did that on purpose, and at first, I was like, "Why? Why would you send a very talented ice user to a battle ground cover in water. Sometimes he can easily use to his advantage?"
Because, for a moment, I forgot that Shiryu's cosmo is strongly linked to water. His training focused a lot on changing the flow of a waterfall. Chinese dragons, which his cloth represents, are highly tied to water bodies. He was not at a disadvantage there. If anyone, among the 5 bronzes, could defeat Hyoga on these conditions, it would be him
The bronzes are young and emotional, but they are not dumb, being on water gives them both a boost.
Maybe Hyoga immediately attacked because he knew he needed to freeze Shiryu before he could attack
At the end, neither was standing
And I do think neither wanted to hurt the other for real.
Shiryu understood nothing but knew he couldn't lower his guard in front of Hyoga. This fight may not be canon, but it shows the respect he has for his brother's fighting skills.
...
Also, I still want to know why Hyoga chose to reveal himself to Shiryu

Polaris Hilda, The High Priestess
My fanart for the Saint Seiya Tarot Collaboration organized by CyberSpecter. This artwork is Glazed.
Illustration elements explanation under the cut:
The High Priestess card represents a connection between the mortal existence and higher knowledge, just like how Hilda is the connection between her people and the gods in Asgard.
The rune ᚨ (ansuz) between her hands symbolized divine guidance, and was frequently used to refer to Odin. Odin himself was a seeker of knowledge, going as far as sacrificing one of his eyes in exchange of wisdom. And even though in the anime Hilda only wears her raven-winged black headpiece while under the influence of the Nibelung ring, the fact it exists and is very similar to the headpiece in Odin's statue, leads me to believe it's part of her priestess attire. All in all, the three elements (ansuz, eye, headpiece) are linked through color and highlight, to represent Hilda's connection to the gods.
Her golden piece was redesigned to resemble the Viking Urnes style. The "moon-crown" elements are said to reference Hathor from Egyptian mythology, but also represent different stages of life (child, adult, senior) through the moon phases. The stars are a nod to the Ursa Major and the Polaris star, so prominent in the Asgard saga (they aren't included in the website version of the card because they match the frame used here specifically, and I didn't want it to look weird with the website frame)

I suddenly remembered I loved Midgard Hyoga. It was a cool idea, and I wished they had done more with that.

Yay! @saintseiya-zone's Asgard&Atlantis Zine is finally out! And it's nice to see so many contributions.
Here's the Siegfried I did for the zine. Considering the fact I had to rush him in the end (I had an intense three months of the year so far - until finishing this one, I hadn't touched my drawing tablet in over two months), I am quite happy with how he turned out. Especially the armor; it's the thing I dreaded the most. Especially since I did try ot color a Gold Cloth once, and it didn't turn out well. I only wished I had had the time to draw the background I had initially envisioned... Some nordic patter frame around the image, and Siegfried himself standing in a snowstorm. But hey, the shield knot doesn't look too shabby either. n.n And it fits him.
