OUR FIVE FAVOURITE BEACHES ON THE FRENCH RIVIERA

A trip to the French Riviera is never complete without a visit to at least one of the spectacular beaches the region has to offer. The diverse topographical features ensure that all the beaches showcase something different. Some have a lush green backdrop, others are towns and villages that meander all the way down to the edge of the beach. A plethora of water sport activities are always available as well as great restaurant and beach club options. Here is a selection of our five favourite beaches we like to visit on a lazy summers day!

 1.   Plage des Marinières. Villefranche-sur-Mer.

 Located in the heart of the stunning bay of villefranche sur mer, this 700m stretch of sand and pebbles is a perfect place to soak up the sun. the beach is protected by jelly fish nets and has a lifeguard on duty in the summer. Numerous restaurants are located a short walk away as well as snack options on the beach. Great for people watching and safe swimming for all. 

2.   Paloma Beach.  Saint Jean Cap Ferrat

 On the eastern side of the exclusive Saint Jean Cap Ferrat sits Paloma beach. Named after Paloma Picasso the daughter of the famous artist Pablo Picasso, this small stretch of beach oozes class. Go for a dip in the clear turquoise waters followed by a wonderful relaxed lunch at the Paloma beach restaurant. We recommend the linguini à la langouste washed down with a crisp provincial Rosé

3.   Plage de pampelonne. Saint Tropez

 With over 5km of white sand, this beach has something for everyone. Whether it’s spotting A-list celebs, dining in one of famous beach clubs or just soaking up the sun watching the numerous super yachts at anchor in the bay. Access the beach via a short bus ride from saint Tropez or arrive in style on one of beach club navettes. We love the cool sophistication of Bagatelle beach and sampling their delicious ceviche de Loup. 

4.   Les Fossettes and Les Fosses.  Saint Jean Cap Ferrat

 Nestled on the southern tip of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, are these two stunning little bays. Les fossettes is located just below the Jardin de la Paid and only a short walk from Paloma beach. Les Fosses is located just a 5-minute walk further. Both beaches are always relaxed and not overcrowded, and mainly frequented by locals. We really like the incredible snorkeling and listening to the Cicadas chirping in the late afternoon. 

 5.   Ezé Beach.  Ezé bord de mer

 Just a short ride from Monaco or Nice, this beach offers 2 beach clubs, a water sports center, and 700 meters of pebbles being chased up the beach by super clear water. Great snorkeling at the eastern end of the bay and a fun floating platform to swim out to in the summer! It’s a great location for paddle boarding or hanging out in one of the beach clubs. We enjoy a nice Sunday swim followed by a wild afternoon spent in Anjuana bay beach club.
