Sai’sell: Adult concept, in traditional Veniterian men’s dress, in healer’s colours.
As per useual: 1mm ballpoint, Pentalic paper for pens, Tombow felt tip markers, edited and background in photoshop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kan’qa~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The immortal lord of Kortlin Venitereea, Deivd, was enjoying his indulgences in the exselist religion; even as a revolution against it came to his door. The god of luck and wealth is too ingrained into Venitereea, and Deivd would never say no to even the sight of gold. Not that he embezzled, just that he preferred it over possessions. The city freely offered him finery and smiles; a man gilded in decadence, but of poise and charity. He loved the place he was born in, more than shimmering metal.
Deivd was a beloved lord of the city, within the northern mountains; A city in stalagmites and tall caverns of glowing crystal, and black iron ores. Mines of teh most valuable running like veins from a heart. Even if the revolution poisoned his people, they would not attack such a benevolent man, who had nothing to lose but replaceable coins.
Most things are not replaceable. Deivd’s people weren't replaceable. Nothing made him appreciate this more, then walking down the streets to help them; Or going to a venue, for drinks and games. But with a purse of coin from many won chips, Deivd felt his heart tugged one day; A small boy of his kind, with cyan acccents instead of violet.
As much as the lord tried to find the boy’s home, he appeared to be orphaned. Deivd, convinced his gold lathered single apartment was not fit for a child, searched for a new family. Then Deivd got his name; Saisel. Then he heard the boys dream of being a healer, and had a incurable illness that could leave him crippled and blind. Saisel had too high a concentration of Krkonyim in his vessel. when they held hands once, Saisel fell unconscious, vibrating with visions of Deivd’s fondest memories, which staining his immortal soul. With .
Krkonyim , the organic Maitrl that connects souls to their vessels, runs in the blood of all races in Molamola. Too little, and the soul will wonder, leaving it’s vessel to slowly wither. Too much, and the individual could read the soul of another with touch. The compound concentrates in the palms, soles, chest, spine, mouth and eyes; all of which get damaged when Krkonyim crystalizes in high concentration.
This transfer of soul by calm touch, is how healing is done. Deivd knew the Saisel’s condition would deny the boy his dreams; and leave him without sight or movement. But he didn’t have the heart to prevent Saisel from trying. He sent the boy off to a good school, where he made another disabled friend, and learned much. But when Saisel returned, he had gone blind after saving his friends life.
“I will pray for you, and find a treatment; Anything to you let heal the injured and ill, as your kind soul wishes.” Deivd would say. He had even made his home larger and accessible, to help Saisell adjust to his new normal.
“It's ok.” Saisel would lie, while dressing in something he trusted Deivd to choose. Soemtimes he wondered what he looked like full grown. Even worrying how his condition would effect his ability to live in a city. Deivsd saw it on Saisel’s face. Loss.
“Do not lie to me. I’m not just your lord; I love you. I will outlive you, but to see you live well, will make it all worthwhile. Live within your means, and  I will always be here for you. If I ever find a way to preserve your vessel, so you may be fulfilled, I will.” Deivd assured. Though it didn’t help, it did comfort. Saisel didn’t remember his family, but remembered the infinite possibilities of health and youth. Such coldness is incurable. But true support makes acceptance possible.
No matter the length of life, it is never to late to say yes to the kindness and self-compassion. New unfortunates will come. but there is only one of you.
Did chibi style colour spectrum of my worlds race of shjua d’em to show all the colours they come in, and some of them are recurring characters too. It is also a good example of the clothing they wear in Venitareea where the beings are found. I am a fan of recycling stock characters, I mean I have so many, I have a character for every plausible narrative situation i conjure by now one would think...
wasn’t going to post and then i was like, it’s charming, I’ll go for it.
Top right to bottom left: Crystal (Jacom and Lahahee’s daughter from Ta Ederinson Kix), Sai’sel (12 year old Healer/oracle in training from Dasin Shin), Rikeiya (military general from Pek Nee’ei, one of my senior cast members), Kliq (extra from a story within a story), Garldeer (Kliq’s brother, extra from same said story within a story), Kail (security guard/bouncer from various narratives), Jai’ee (Palace servant in Venitareea from Dasin Shin), Javeera (extra from above mentioned story within a story), Jakom (Recurring main from Ta Ederinson Kix), Klindee (Jakom and Lahahee’s son from Ta Ederinson Kix), Persephone (one of my first characters, from Ta Lem.)
