The debut song of the new idol, Miyuki Inaba. This single was pulled from her debut album, "M'control", and sold as a flexi disc. With a successful low-price sales strategy, the song sold like hotcakes and gained tremendous support from middle-schoolers and high-schoolers.
Sounds just like the song Tomi Kisaragi used to sing in middle school, but arranged in a more '80s style.

My submission for this year's Soundole Chill Out Cover Competition comes from the 2002 PlayStation 2 title, Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, and its theme, "Power Supply Building." The soundtrack was composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto.
There is a significant buildup in the original piece which I omit in favor of centering on the emotional core and then developing that in various ways. The melodies here are largely of my own invention, but you might pick out a couple of motivic references to two other soundtracks by Sakimoto, these being Final Fantasy Tactics and Radiant Silvergun.
While this piece has a certain driven energy to it, I think that this quality is counterbalanced by a delicate and melancholic sensibility which allows it to, as a whole, fit within the competition's parameters.
Thank you for listening!

The last credit roll after CODA episode 4 having its own newly composed song was such a beautiful surprise to end the game with. All 4 additional songs for Tactics Ogre Reborn have a different feeling than the rest of the soundtrack but they add a lightness and kindness to the overall OST which I felt improved it.
I just read Sakimoto's commentary for this last song and, as someone who enjoys so much of the video game music he's composed (not just for Tactics Ogre, but for Ogre Battle, Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII and Crimson Shroud as well), it makes me feel happy to see he has managed reach for some new heights in his work!
