Art credit to Interstellar-Quartz The little girl's name is Violet Buddwick, daughter of Garnet and Jamie, cuddled by her technical grandmothers Ruby and Sapphire Let me explain the confsion if garnet gives birth, normally her form may disappear....however creatures called crystal shrimps is one of the ways to preserve a gem, their sharp spikes may be poisonous but their blood can help gems survive what normally they cannot.  However I can't say that it's safe. Quite the contrary really, if you won't be careful during the process maybe extremely risky, either something may happen to Ruby and Sapphire, or even the child. Also it has limited effect, if not injected in a month after theyare extracted than it won't have any effect.  But dark stuff and science aside, it;s very adorable seeing the rubbphire couple playing with their sweatheart grandchild, it feels so heartwarnming

So, while everyone else has drawn happy-go-lucky Rupphire wedding pics, I’ve decided to do something far more sinister.  Imagine what would happen if instead of the wedding we all love, that Sapphire were to become corrupted.  I know it’s a stupid idea, but I really wanted to draw her like this, only because I couldn’t find any designs for her that I liked.

My version of corrupted Sapphire is inspired by the wendigo, and I even wrote a shitty fan-fic you can read (the link is here if you’re interested: https://www.wattpad.com/story/152225790-wendigo-steven-universe-fanfic)  There is also a bit of siren and other nasty animals mixed into her behavior, but overall she is primarily wendigo.  And on a different note I have given myself nightmares writing about this thing, not that anything has at all happened in the story, because I have written little side stories based on “encounters” with “real” wendigoes, and writing them to involve Sapphire is kind freaky.
