The religious faith of the indigenous or native or tribal people, mainly the Scheduled Tribes, is called Sarna. The demand for Sarna Dharma Samhita is mainly arising because the tribal communities make it clear that they are not Hindus. Also, several tribal organizations claim that more than 49.57 lakh people living in 29 states and union territories across the country have mentioned 'other' instead of mentioning any particular religion in the religion column during the 2011 census.
