A bill has been submitted to the United States congress calling for a full review of the country’s bilateral relationship with South Africa following the International Court of Justice ruling that found it plausible that Israel has committed acts of genocide against Gaza.
The bipartisan bill which was introduced by US Republican congressman John James and Democratic Party congressman Jared Moskowitz this week could threaten South Africa’s prospects to benefit from the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
The bill will still need to be discussed and passed by congress.
It states that not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this Act, US President Joe Biden in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense, shall certify to the appropriate congressional committees and release publicly an unclassified determination explicitly stating whether South Africa has engaged in activities that undermine United States national security or foreign policy interests.
It further states that the US government must provide an unclassified report submitted to the appropriate congressional committees justifying the determination upon its certificate.
US Embassy mission spokesperson David Feldmann declined to comment. The ANC and the government’s response will be added when received.
The bill accuses the ANC of acting inconsistent with its publicly stated policy of nonalignment in international affairs.
It states that the South African Government has a history of siding with malign actors, including Hamas and the Russian Federation.
The US congress bill argues that the South African government’s support of Hamas dates back to 1994, when the ANC first came into power, taking a hardline stance of consistently accusing Israel of practising apartheid.
The ANC and the South African government have however been known to have ties with the Palestine Liberation Organisation dating back to former president Nelson Mandela’s term in office.
“Following Hamas’ unprovoked and unprecedented horrendous attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, where Hamas terrorists killed and kidnapped hundreds of Israelis, members of the South African Government and leaders of the ANC have delivered a variety of anti-semitic and anti-Israel-related statements and actions,” it reads.
The US congress states that some of the anti-semitic remarks include President Cyril Ramaphosa’s statements accusing Israel of genocide.
It said that the anti-semitic statements also include International Relations and Cooperations Minister Naledi Pandor’s statement expressing concern about escalating violence, urging Israel’s restraint in response.
It adds that Pandor implicitly blamed Israel for provoking the attack through “continued illegal occupation of Palestine land, continued settlement expansion, desecration of the Al Aqsa Mosque and Christian holy sites, and ongoing oppression of the Palestinian people.
It accused the ANC national spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri of anti-semitic remarks after stating that the decision by Palestinians to respond to the brutality of the settler Israeli apartheid regime is unsurprising.
“On December 29, 2023, South Africa filed a politically motivated suit in the International Court of Justice wrongfully accusing Israel of committing genocide. The South African Government has pursued increasingly close relations with the Russian Federation, which has been accused of perpetrating war crimes in Ukraine and indiscriminately undermines human rights. South Africa’s robust relationship with Russia spans the military and political space, including allowing a United States-sanctioned Russian cargo ship, the Lady R, to dock and transfer arms at a South African naval base in December 2022,” the bill stated.
It also cites that South Africa dispatched multiple high-level official delegations to Russia to further political, intelligence, and military cooperation.
The congress bill states that South Africa and the ANC’s relationship with the Chinese government and its ruling Chinese Communist Party(CCP) – which is committing gross violations of human rights in the Xinjiang province and implementing economically coercive tactics around the globe – undermine South Africa’s democratic constitutional system of governance.
These acts include what it says are ongoing ANC and CCP inter-party cooperation; recruitment of former United States and NATO fighter pilots to train Chinese People’s Liberation Army pilots at the Test Flying Academy of South Africa; South Africa’s hosting of 6 Chinese government-backed and CCP-linked Confucius Institutes; South Africa’s participation in a political training school in Tanzania funded by the Chinese Communist Party, cooperation with the Chinese global Belt and Road Initiative; and the widespread presence in South Africa’s media and technology sectors of PRC state linked firms.
“The ANC-led South African Government has a history of substantially mismanaging a range of state resources and has often proven incapable of effectively delivering public services, threatening the South African people and the South African economy,” the bill stated.
The bill accuses Ramaphosa of having declared the national state of disaster over the worsening energy crisis, “the worsening, multi-year power crisis caused by the ANC’s chronic mismanagement of the state owned power company Eskom, resulting from endemic, high-level corruption”.
It states that the persistence of Transnet’s insufficient capacity, an on-going outbreak of cholera, a failure to provide clean water to households and rampant state capture are part of ANC governments mismanagement of the state.

1 - Hindi ba may sense naman talaga for one person to do the income generation and another to take care of household affairs?
Dapat parehas 8 hours lang din naggagawa, the rest of the day can be spent on whatever.
May nakita tuloy akong drama.
It's not about schooling the person naman pero more of setting expectations?
I think I understand part of OP's frustration since base sa kwento nya, walang actual experience 'yung mga nakausap nya. Training lang daw... online certificate. Not sure kung universal ba ang mga bagay sa mundo nila, but then again, how is he/she expecting na someone ready-made for what he/she needs will happen to see his/her post?
Parang common trope online 'yang "walang time mag-train" (anumang lahi ang naghahire) tapos gusto nila polished jewel ka na at ang icing on the cake madalas ay ang sahod na inooffer ay hindi naman nalalayo sa pwedeng kitain dito minus tax and benefits.
Side story: May ginive up akong sideline kasi ang demanding. Okay lang 'yung barya-barya kung flexible, chill, at pitik-pitik lang gagawin pero kung gusto nya ng dedication to the job for 8 hours with all those trackers and deliverables and endless revisions... try offering more? Pero negotiation is off the table, feeling nya ginto pinapasahod nya at wala raw micromanaging na nangyayari at pwede raw na 6 hours a day lang mag-work. Delusional. Good luck kung may nahanap na syang bagong i-e-exploit.

Road to US Pharmacist as a Foreign graduate (Philippines):
After numerous hours spent on studying, working, crying, doubting myself, finally I PASSED THE FPGEE 2022!!
Dati pinapangarap ko lang to. 7 years ago, I graduated BS Pharmacy (CEU MANILA) and I really had to wait for my turn for this moment to come kaya big deal sa akin.
Took me so long because it was quite difficult to adjust life situations sa America from getting a job, being comfortable with the culture, language, getting an apartment, getting my mom to come here in the US, to studying again 1 plus year (Clinical pharmacy at UIC DAVAO) to meet minimum education requirements.
Tumblr media
Still can't believe it. What a good way to end year 2022. It takes 2 months for them to release the results and guess what happened sa 2 months while waiting? lots of crying. CRYING EVERYDAY literally. I'm a true cancer sign Lol.
Anyway, here's the US Pharmacist as a foreign graduated (Outside of US) timeline:
Step 1: Make sure you have at least 5 year pharmacy education. Proceed to clinical pharmacy if you can! (PharmD as 6th year not mandatory). They'll not accept a 4 year degree except if you graduated before January 1, 2003.
Step 2: you need to be a licensed pharmacist in your home country. Let's go PhLE!
Step 3: Pass the TOEFL first. (English Test). Be sure to get the minimum scores required by the NABP. Be sure to take it only in the US territories and some part of Canada or else NABP won't accept it.
Step 4: Pass the FPGEE (Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Exam). Passing this exam will earn you a certification to proceed with US Internship, Naplex, and MPJE (Law exam). This is exam is only offered once a year. Kaya big deal talaga kasi from being offered twice a year, they offer it once a year na lang. I was really praying to pass this exam kasi ayoko na umulit at maghintay ng 1 year.
Step 5: US Internship. Hours depend on the state where you want to work. For me, in the state of Texas, 1,740 hours.
Step 6 and 7: NAPLEX and MPJE. Ito mismo yung US pharmacy licensure exam (Mostly clinical based questions) and Law exam. And US Pharmacist ka na!
In my case, US Internship, NAPLEX, and MPJE happen at the same time. My state requires me to pass the NAPLEX and MPJE habang nag iintern. So, my estimated timeline to become a US Pharmacist ay December 2023 kasi medyo mahaba rin yung internship. Puhon.
PS: I'm also in graduate school though. I'm expected to graduate MS Pharmacy in July 2023 . It means while studying for the Naplex, MPJE, I'm also taking the comprehensive exam, and finishing and defending my (solo) Masters thesis.
I'm really thankful for the amount of people who wished me luck and are rooting for me. Kahit yung mga nakakakilala lang sakin virtually. With that, I want to help aspiring pharmacists as much as I can.
Sincerely yours, Franchesca

Tumblr media
It's my 9th anniversary on Tumblr 🥳 (since December 2014)
Almost a decade, wow! Excelsior by mariellewritesalot is a writing blog I started as a teenager to fully embrace the fact that I wanted to become a writer. I wanted my own "website" or at least a home for my words. "Excelsior" is my favorite word, and I was a bit obsessed with it back then, given that it meant going ever upward. "mariellewritesalot" was just something I thought of while watching cartoons where one of the characters had "a lot" attached to their name (I believe it was Sir Yipsalot). I could cringe, but honestly, I'm not too bothered enough to change it. Maybe it's part of its charm.
Suffice it to say, this has been my longest relationship so far, haha. We've had our ups and downs, terrible lulls of writer's block when I would be too busy with life or too paralyzed with fear that I'm not good enough to actually post something here.
I started writing early on because I was the kind of child who read everywhere and owned a Kindle since I was 12. I joined essay contests and wrote fan fiction until I was in the middle of my teenage years. I loved Total Girl Philippines, and eventually became a Jr. TG Staff Writer for one week in the summer of 2012. I won a Palanca when I was in senior high school. I dabbled, of course, in campus journalism for many years. Editor-in-Chief for some publications. I wrote news, features, opinions...even UAAP sports! I then created a Facebook page for my blog to expand my audience. I was fortunate enough to land a spot in UP Diliman where I took a certificate course on Malikhaing Pagsulat sa Filipino (loved working on my Filipino writing skills) and eventually, my Bachelor of Arts degree in Philippine Studies, where I also majored in History. I wrote my undergraduate thesis on Filipino food in Filipino-American restaurants based in the United States, guided by my love for Doreen Fernandez essays and curiosities about the diaspora; so I could also help these restaurants map out their histories. During the pandemic, I worked on a practice Young Adult novel called, Don't Write Me Off.
I started working freelance and interning for some publications like PhilStar Life and Esquire Philippines. I've been a part of college organizations in UP Diliman, where I honed my skills in leadership, writing, and research so that I may be able to do talks and workshops about writing in different schools and provinces in the Philippines. Last year, I became a Creative Nonfiction fellow for the 61st Silliman University National Writers Workshop, which has been a dream of mine since, well, I was in high school and deeply obsessed with 'the scene.' I got to belong with my chosen family in the fellows with whom I shared the once-in-a-lifetime experience in Dumaguete. We have since joined the Cebu Art Fair last year with our zine, Saudade: A Study on Longing, which features two of my works. As a collective, we're always collaborating on something. Watch this space!
Nowadays, I'm living somewhere in Spain, and I'm working on my first book. It's a collection. It's (too) vulnerable. I think you'll like it. I believe that I will probably be in pursuit of more knowledge and skills as a writer for the rest of my life, so despite my wanting to be a mysterious private person, I think you'll be hearing (reading?) a lot from me on various platforms. Hopefully.
While we're here, I have something new. Since we're losing Tinyletter next month, which was where I used to send out my newsletter of truly vulnerable, exclusive pieces, I have decided to "move houses" and finally join Substack. I'm going to talk about some facets of my life here in Spain, food, and the usual prose. Essentially, a lot of my stuff will be free to read there, but I would appreciate pledges if you can. I will still update my Tumblr from time to time, of course, seeing as this is my main site. No worries!
This year, I'm also going to work on creating an Instagram account for my writing. I have beautiful plans I can't wait to share with you. I'm hoping you'll come along for the ride.
Thank you, lovers, for this milestone.
Always,
Marielle

Hi, Kirri! I'm from South America and I'm trying to do a research about australian high school. I would like you to clarify some questions I have about school subjects, like: which ones are optional and which are mandatory? also, if you could send me some reliable websites than i can look up. every website i see says something different, can be very confusing so I decided to ask a australian person. Thank you!!!!
Hi, hey, i've been summoned! Okay, i'll admit to you upfront, it's been a hot minute since I was in high school so my knowledge is partly from personal experience but also what is published online. The school structures and curriculum differs from state to state, so it's no wonder you had trouble finding clear answers. I'll try to explain simply:
Australian high schools run from years 7 to 12. (We actually have 13 school years in total including Kindergarten, or preparatory, which is not numbered.) Students can finish in year 10 if they choose not to complete their senior years and test for university entry. If a student finishes in year 10, they get a Record of School Achievement; if they finish senior studies, they get a certificate of education depending on which state they're in:
NSW - Higher School Certificate (HSC)
VIC - Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)/Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL)
QLD - Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA)
SA - South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE)
WA - West Australian Certificate of Education (WACE)
TAS - Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE)
ACT - Australian Capital Territory Senior Secondary Certificate (ACT SSC)
NT - Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE)
The national curriculum has eight compulsory learning areas, which can be categorized into subjects:
Tumblr media
Then there are a wide range of electives, which vary greatly depending on region, type of school (state-funded vs private/faith-based) etc. Students in years 9 and 10 typically choose three electives. Here is an example of electives available to a school in NSW.
In addition, many schools offer the opportunity to study a vocational (often trade-based) course in preparation for studies after high school, called TVET (TAFE-delivered Vocational Education and Training). Many of these course results in credits toward school outcomes. I guess you could say that TAFE to Australia is like community college to the US.
The school year is broken up into four 'terms', with dates varying between states (see links at end for a list). A typical school day goes from 8:45am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday, with breaks for recess and lunch between period. A 'period' = one class, which typically runs for 40 minutes.
Upon completing senior studies and final exams, students are given an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank), which they can use to select and be admitted to university. In fact, senior exams have just begun so it's a good time to keep an eye on social media and see how current students are talking about the experience! 'ATAR Day' (when rankings are released) is on December 14, another time to take a look.
Australia also has specialist high schools, such as creative and performing arts schools, intensive English centres (for students with English as a second language), sports schools, and technology schools. All of these must teach the compulsory subjects, but offer the chance to specialize in these areas.
Websites where you can learn more about the Australian curriculum:
Australian Curriculum Version 9.0 Australian Schools Directory
Study Australia
ACARA (for statistics)
TVET
ATAR
Hopefully that will help you! I hope you don't mind that I posted this answer but I thought it might be useful to others as well. If you have any other questions, go ahead and ask and i'll do my best!

Les Bases [Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu] par Écorce architecture écologique
- -

Prince Harry: royals ‘agreed not to sue’ newspapers over phone hacking
Harry says he was conditioned to accept family’s view that they should not dare take on UK newspaper industry
Jim Waterson Media editor
Tue 28 Mar 2023 19.55 BST
Prince Harry has claimed members of the royal family struck a secret deal with newspapers not to sue them over phone hacking because it would “open a can of worms”.
Harry alleged his own family hid information from him about press intrusion and he had been conditioned to accept his family’s view that they should not dare to take on the British newspaper industry.
In documents filed to the high court, he said there was a private arrangement between the royal family, which he calls “the Institution”, and Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers (NGN), which publishes the Sun.
Harry claimed: “There was in place an agreement between the Institution and NGN that we would not engage, or even discuss, the possibility of bringing claims against NGN until the litigation against it relating to phone hacking was over.
“The Institution made it clear that we did not need to know anything about phone hacking and it was made clear to me that the royal family did not sit in the witness box because that could open up a can of worms.
“The Institution was without a doubt withholding information from me for a long time about NGN’s phone hacking and that has only become clear in recent years as I have pursued my own claim with different legal advice and representation.”
In addition to claims against NGN and the publisher of the Mirror, Harry is now bringing a claim against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday.
He alleges the company’s newspapers targeted him through a variety of illegal means including voicemail interception, tapping of landline phones, and inappropriately obtaining credit card records.
Harry said he decided to sue Associated Newspapers because “if the most influential newspaper company can successfully evade justice, then in my opinion the whole country is doomed”.
In the witness statement, Harry added: “I am bringing this claim because I love my country and I remain deeply concerned by the unchecked power, influence and criminality of Associated.
“The evidence I have seen shows that Associated’s journalists are criminals with journalistic powers which should concern every single one of us. The British public deserve to know the full extent of this cover up and I feel it is my duty to expose it.”
He said reports in the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday about his private life had caused him immense grief and paranoia as a young man, citing an article about a little known girlfriend from his Eton days called Laura Gerard-Leigh.
“It led to Laura’s parents being doorstepped which they were understandably not pleased about. This sort of thing caused me to try and keep matters as private as I could to avoid this happening.”
Harry is one of seven individuals bringing cases against the publisher of the Mail, claiming the group’s newspapers regularly broke the law to obtain stories.
Associated Newspapers has described the claims as “preposterous smears” and a “pre-planned and orchestrated attempt to drag the Mail titles into the phone-hacking scandal”.
They said the evidence was based on “unsubstantiated and highly defamatory claims, based on no credible evidence.”
Harry was present in court for a second day in central London to hear technical arguments about how certain information had been obtained by his legal team.
Witness statements from other claimants – who include Doreen Lawrence, Elton John, Liz Hurley and Sadie Frost – also set out allegations of illegality at Associated Newspapers and the hurt they had caused. Associated has dismissed all the claims as “preposterous smears”.
Elton John told the court he believed the Mail was “inhumane” and claimed it had dug up his personal medical records, as well as obtaining the birth certificate of his son Zachary – something he said was “abhorrent and outside even the most basic standards of human decency”.
John said: “I have devoted my life to my music but this does not mean deeply personal things which I have to deal with in private are fair game … The fact they did this to our son Zachary when he was a baby, just born, shows just how little integrity and morality exists within this newspaper group.”
Doreen Lawrence’s lawyer Imran Khan KC said his client felt betrayed by the Mail, who had previously campaigned on behalf of her murdered son Stephen. He said Doreen Lawrence had found the Mail’s duplicity to be “breathtaking and beyond comprehension, even after all the inhumanity we have witnessed since the night Stephen was killed”.
Sadie Frost said her ex-husband Jude Law believed she was leaking information to newspapers about her divorce, while she now alleges this was due to illegal interception of information. Liz Hurley said she objected to “Stasi-like surveillance” by the media.
On Tuesday the court heard arguments over whether confidential evidence provided to the Leveson inquiry by Associated Newspapers could now be used by the claimants in the case.
The Mail, which is attempting to have the claims struck out, argued the material – showing payments to private investigators – should not admissible because the data was provided to the public inquiry with a guarantee of confidentiality.
Another witness, the former private investigator Steve Whittamore, said he was paid hundreds of thousands of pounds to provide illegally obtained information to the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday: “It irked me to watch the Leveson inquiry and hear executives and senior figures from the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday deny that their reporters and editors knew what they were asking me to do was unlawful. I know they did.”
He said a number of those journalists who used his services and who knew the information he provided for their stories had been obtained unlawfully “are still in senior positions at Associated’s newspapers”.
Adrian Beltrami KC, representing Associated Newspapers, told the court that another private detective relied on by the claimants had now provided a signed witness statement “denying that he was commissioned or instructed by Associated to carry out any unlawful activity”.

Key Steps to Setting Up a Business in Saudi Arabia with SetupSaudiBusiness
Tumblr media
Establishing a business in Saudi Arabia is an exciting opportunity for investors and entrepreneurs alike, thanks to the country's growing economy and government initiatives aimed at facilitating business operations. However, the process involves multiple steps, each requiring careful planning and execution. At SetupSaudiBusiness, we specialize in guiding you through every stage of the business setup process to ensure a seamless experience.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set up a business in Saudi Arabia:
1. Select a Business Activity
The first step in starting a business in Saudi Arabia is to identify the type of business activity you want to pursue. This could range from retail, services, or manufacturing, to more niche sectors like technology, education, or healthcare. Some sectors may require additional licenses or approvals, so selecting the right activity upfront is essential for a smooth registration process.
Pro Tip: Certain activities may benefit from government incentives, particularly in sectors aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, such as tourism, renewable energy, and entertainment.
2. Choose a Business Structure
Selecting the appropriate business structure is another critical decision. The most common types of business structures in Saudi Arabia include:
· Limited Liability Company (LLC)
· Joint Stock Company (JSC)
· Sole Proprietorship
· Branch of a Foreign Company
Your choice will depend on factors like your business goals, capital requirements, and liability concerns. At SetupSaudiBusiness, we can help you determine the best structure based on your specific needs.
3. Register with the Ministry of Commerce and Investment (MOCI)
After deciding on the business activity and structure, the next step is to register your company with the Ministry of Commerce and Investment (MOCI). This process involves:
· Submitting a commercial name for approval
· Drafting Articles of Association or corporate documents
· Obtaining the Commercial Registration (CR) certificate
This step officially establishes your company in Saudi Arabia.
4. Obtain Necessary Licenses and Permits
Different business activities require specific licenses and permits. For example, a company in the healthcare sector might need approvals from the Ministry of Health, while a retail company would need a trading license. Common permits include:
· General business licenses
· Sector-specific licenses
· Zoning permits (for physical locations)
SetupSaudiBusiness ensures that all necessary documentation is in place so that you can operate legally and efficiently from day one.
5. Open a Corporate Bank Account
To manage your company’s financial transactions, you will need to open a corporate bank account with a Saudi bank. Typically, the bank will require your commercial registration, identification documents of the business owner(s), and a business plan.
Opening a corporate account also provides access to business loans, credit facilities, and foreign currency management, which can support the growth of your business.
6. Secure a Commercial Address
Every business in Saudi Arabia must have a valid commercial address to operate. You can rent or purchase office space or even opt for a virtual office, depending on your business’s needs. This address will also be required for the completion of your commercial registration and to receive official correspondence from the government.
At SetupSaudiBusiness, we assist you in finding the right location for your operations, whether it be a physical office or a virtual solution.
7. Register with the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT)
As part of the formalities, your business must register with the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) for tax purposes. Depending on your business activity, you may need to pay VAT, Zakat, or income tax.
Proper tax registration and compliance ensure your business avoids penalties and stays in good standing with Saudi authorities.
8. Hire Employees and Comply with Saudization Policies
Saudi Arabia has a workforce nationalization policy known as Saudization (Nitaqat), which requires businesses to hire a certain percentage of Saudi nationals. Depending on your business sector, the requirements may vary. You will also need to provide employee benefits and comply with local labor laws.

Conclusion

GFSI Certification: Ensuring Food Safety Across the Globe
In today's globalized food industry, ensuring the safety and quality of food products has become more crucial than ever. The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification has emerged as a pivotal standard in addressing this challenge, playing a vital role in enhancing food safety practices worldwide.
What is GFSI Certification?
GFSI, founded in 2000, is a private organization that brings together key players in the food industry to collaborate on food safety advancement. The GFSI certification is not a standard itself, but rather a benchmarking process that recognizes various food safety management schemes. These schemes, once GFSI-recognized, provide assurance that a food manufacturer has robust food safety systems in place.
The Importance of GFSI Certification
1. Harmonization of Food Safety Standards
One of the primary benefits of GFSI certification is the harmonization of food safety standards across the globe. By benchmarking different food safety schemes, GFSI creates a common understanding of what constitutes effective food safety management. This harmonization reduces complexity for food businesses operating in multiple markets and helps streamline the audit process.
2. Enhanced Consumer Protection
GFSI certification significantly contributes to consumer protection by ensuring that food products meet stringent safety standards. Certified companies are required to implement comprehensive food safety management systems, which include hazard analysis, preventive controls, and traceability measures. This systematic approach helps minimize the risk of foodborne illnesses and product recalls, ultimately safeguarding consumer health.
3. Improved Supply Chain Management
In an increasingly complex global supply chain, GFSI certification provides a common language for food safety. This facilitates better communication and understanding between suppliers and buyers across different countries and cultures. It also helps companies to better manage their supply chains by providing a reliable method to assess and select suppliers based on their food safety credentials.
4. Cost Reduction and Efficiency
While obtaining GFSI certification requires initial investment, it often leads to long-term cost savings. The "once certified, recognized everywhere" principle of GFSI reduces the need for multiple audits, saving both time and resources. Moreover, the implementation of robust food safety systems often leads to improved operational efficiency and reduced waste.
5. Market Access and Competitive Advantage
Many major retailers and food service companies now require their suppliers to be certified to a GFSI-recognized scheme. Therefore, obtaining GFSI certification can open doors to new market opportunities and enhance a company's competitive position. It serves as a demonstration of a company's commitment to food safety, potentially attracting new customers and building trust with existing ones.
6. Continuous Improvement
GFSI food safety is not a one-time achievement but an ongoing process. Certified companies are required to undergo regular audits and continually improve their food safety systems. This culture of continuous improvement helps businesses stay ahead of emerging food safety challenges and evolving regulatory requirements.
GFSI certification has become a cornerstone of food safety management in the global food industry. Its importance extends beyond mere compliance, fostering a culture of food safety that benefits consumers, businesses, and the industry as a whole. By providing a harmonized approach to food safety, enhancing consumer protection, improving supply chain management, and offering competitive advantages, GFSI certification plays a crucial role in ensuring safe food for consumers everywhere.
As the food industry continues to evolve and face new challenges, the role of GFSI certification in maintaining and improving food safety standards is likely to become even more significant. For food businesses aiming to thrive in the global marketplace, embracing GFSI certification is not just a strategic move—it's an essential step towards building a safer, more trustworthy food system for all. https://enhancequality.com/standards/gfsi-recognized-standards-for-packaging-companies-brcfssc-22000-ifs-and-sqf/
