hey there! so, i was going to write my own zach imagine today, but I kinda got lazy and I wanted to read your writing. so anyway, idk if you say it, but there's this picture of Zach and all of his old school friends after the Dallas show. so, i was wondering if you could write one where the reader is also part of the friend group and he had (still has) a crush on her and the other boys keeping teasing them about it until Zach asks her out and it's just fluffy? thanks!

“I can’t wait to see Zach today!” You smile as the rest of your friend group coos at the comment.

“We know you can’t.” You roll your eyes and scoff.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“C’mon, (Y/N). You know.” They give you a small push and start making kissing noises.

“Once again, it’s not like that. He’s our best friend!” You and your group of friends have been close knit since kindergarten. Despite being the only girl in your group, you all watched out for each other like family. And with Zach going off and doing bigger and better things, you guys didn’t get to see him as often but when you did it was like he never left in the first place.

“Yeah, it has been a while since we’ve roamed the streets with Herron.” Everyone at the table agrees.

“Yeah, maybe this time (Y/N) can make her move.”

“What?”

“I mean, Zach didn’t so now you can.”

“What? No.” Yes. You’ve always felt something for Zach that you didn’t feel with the other boys. The boys always joke you guys but Zach always pushes it aside as a joke so you did the same because you knew he probably didn’t feel the same.

“Just ask him out.”

“No! He doesn’t even like me like that. I mean I-“

“So, you’re admitting that you like him?” You hesitate then shake your head and laugh with the rest of the group.

“Shut up.” Before you can say anything else, your phone rings.

“Hello?”

“Hey, it’s me.” You realize it’s Zach and you start to feel your cheeks heating up. You clear your throat and try to act normal.

“Hey, what’s up?”

“Just seeing what you guys are up to.” You put him on speakerphone and set the phone down.

“We’re just hanging out as usual. We have nothing better to do before your concert tonight.”

“I can’t wait to see you.” Your eyes go wide and your friends start snickering in silence.

“Really?”

“Yeah, it’s crazy. I’ve been gone so long I’m actually starting to miss you.” You bite your lip as your friends continue to try and not have a laughing fit.

“Zach-“

“A-and the guys. I miss you and the guys.”

“Oh. Yeah.” Your face falls but you try and keep a smile.

“I have mic check but I’ll see you guys tonight. Bye.” You hang up the phone and sigh.

“Herron’s got it bad and so does (Y/N).”

“It’s not like that!”

After the concert, you and your friends meet Zach backstage. You all greet the boys and finally see Zach.

“Hey, man.” Your friends give him handshakes and bro hugs. You just give him a hug and smile back at him.

“The concert was so good.”

“I’m glad you guys liked it.” He smiles causing you to blush yet again.

“(Y/N) liked it especially.” You shove your friend and silently cursed.

“Really?” You look back at Zach and smile.

“Yeah, you were great.”

“Thanks. That sounds so good coming from you.” You both stand there in silence just smiling at each other until one of your friends groan.

“Holy hell, just kiss him already!” You turn around and silently curse.

“Shut up!” You turn back to Zach and he looks down with a smile.

“Zach, it’s not like that I-“ You scramble to find words to say but he cuts you off with a small laugh.

“What if I want it to be like that?” He looks up from the ground and at you.

“Huh?”

“(Y/N), I’ve liked you since the third grade.” You open your mouth in shock.

“Are you serious?” He nods.

“Me too.” He looks up in shock.

“Really?” You nod and explain more.

“And when the guys joked us about it, I only shoved it off because I thought-“

“You didn’t like me back.” You both finish the sentence and he grabs your hand.

“(Y/N)?”

“Zach?” He leans in and your lips meet.

“Well, that escalated quickly.” You friend calls out in the back causing you to pull away with a laugh.

“Date? Saturday night?”

“Don’t you have a whole tour to worry about?”

“I think I can make time for my girl.” You blush and look away.

“Saturday it is.”

“Told you, (Y/N).” You turn around to your friend crossing his arms. You give him a shove then turn back to Zach for another kiss.
