I don't see the whole "born in the wrong body" as much more than a simpler way of trying to encapsulate the feeling of body horror that can come with being gender dysphoric. It's a metaphor for trans pain, we aren't always literally saying what you're hearing.
I think it can be important to make this known because so many people are misinterpreting trans pain. Gender dysphoria is a very complex and nuanced issue, and it's a state of being that's case-by-case. The "born in the wrong body" statement is a simple way of communicating the angst of being gender dysphoric, and I really wish people focused on alleviating that angst rather than going, "well you weren't born in the wrong body, that's impossible! Stop feeling that way!"
