Okay. Still at the airport and noticed this schefflera near the bathroom. It looked a bit dull and dusty looking from afar....so I walked closer and checked it out....scale infestation. 😬 The reason it looks so dull is because it is covered in dust stuck to the honeydew or the scale excrement. 💩 Yuck! This plant needs to be cleaned up and treated or removed. Those little brown spots are the protective covering of the insects underneath sucking the juice out of the plant and then secreting honeydew which the dust sticks to. Notice the shiny honeydew on one of the pics. Great indicator there is a problem. Pay attention to your plants! I spotted this problem while quite far away from the plant. If it had been caught earlier, it may have been saved.
