If you happen to meet Briar alone in the Black Shroud, this is likely what you shall see, a wary archer far from home and hearth, not unfriendly but cautious.

15. The Orphan.

The Orphan, just a fledgling boy,

For his mother mourns, bereft,

But he will find ways to employ

The gifts she gave before she left.

The fifteenth character in my silly poem series is Briar Redfeather of @briar-ffxiv.

An OC with quite a following already, Briar combines a distinct arboreal aesthetic with a unique backstory and approach to the world. I am thoroughly invested in Briar's story and I wholeheartedly recommend this blog to any FFXIV fan.

Skillful writing, thoughtful responses to character asks and some very fluffy sheep! Certainly a blog that more people should follow.

Day #3 of FFXIV Mixed May Living Space

When at home, the most common place to find Briar is in the kitchen. Often trying something new as he enjoys figuring out recipes and using the produce of his own little homestead to create foodstuffs he can share with others.

Day #5 of FFXIV Mixed May Job/Class

First and foremost, Briar considers himself an Archer. When he reluctantly went to Gridania, he was accepted by the Archer's Guild. Despite protests, Guildmaster Luciane saw potential in Briar and was pleased that he was a shy, but dedicated student. He often spent hours in the early morning practicing.

Day #4 of FFXIV Mixed May City-State

Born in the Black Shroud, Briar is technically a citizen of Gridania. However, he has never felt at ease in the city and it has certainly not called it his home. And as a half-blood, most of the Gridania is more than happy to have no claim to him.

Day #2 of FFXIV Mixed May Family

Briar was orphaned before his fourteenth year, leaving him without family to his knowledge. However, his grandparents and mother are buried in the druidic tradition beneath the willow tree near his house. He has gone there since he was a child to talk to them and feel close to his mother.

Well, at least it was decent! Basically "keep being nice" and "you're tough, you can survive this". So in all, pretty positive.
