I'm gonna count the Reddit AMA as canon, because to me this is the core of Bill's characterization and I refer back to it all the time:

Just found your blog and I’m fascinated by Mina (for 100 different reasons) and would love to know everything about her

HIIII and THANK YOU!!!! Well, I will say I can't tell you EVERYTHING about her (mostly because I still have to. Write out her and Bill's backstorys for the fic I am currently writing and will be eventually posting, and even then it'll be ages before I reach that chapter) BUT I can tell you a little about her~!

First of all, she's Bill's older twin sibling (the sister part comes later down the line), and their names back in their home dimension were Triangle 56 and Triangle 57. Named for the order they were born in on that specific day, and how many triangles had come before them.

Because Mina was born first, she was clearly more favored by their parents. Both kids were probably favored when they were younger, but as they got older, Mina was a lot more reserved, quiet and obedient. And Bill was...well, Bill. Resistant to anything that didn't make sense, always questioning why they had to follow the rules that they did.

Basically just being a regular kid who dared to not do as he was told when he was told.

And in a society like theirs (one dedicated to staying in line, being obedient, etc) that is probably one of the most looked-down upon behaviors imaginable.

ANYWAY all that to say that if Bill is that loud, angry neurodivergent kid who fought tooth and nail against an unfair system, Mina was the quiet, unconfrontational neurodivergent kid who was terrified of breaking the rules because of the consequences that would come with it.

But with a brother like Bill, she does have her moments of sneaking off with him to get into mischief and trouble. He'd always take the blame for the idea, of course. Better their folks yell at him than her.

They were joined at the hip (sometimes literally; they sleep with their sides pressed against each other) for so much of their life, until they weren't.

The rest of their backstory still needs some smoothing out (what her relationship is with the Axolotl, their eventual falling out, where she's been during the events of the show, etc), but other than that, she's a sweetie who has been VERY lonely for a very long time.

She's also (quite literally) a trans girl, because while her gender in the second dimension was 'triangle', she realizes early on that 'triangle' doesn't quite feel right on her. Even if she's not sure what DOES feel right at the time. But eventually, she comes to realizes that what DOES feel right is the label of 'human girl!' She wants to be a human girl so bad! Her little bow gives her gender euphoria because it makes her look cute and human girls are cute!

Outside of that, she's a big fan of things like stars and ballet and other really pretty things that she often sees in people's dreams. Oh yeah, she might end up having somewhat similar powers to Bill but she's not as skilled or experienced at using them as he is.

She is probably what the kids call a 'Mary Sue' of sorts, and I love her so so much. My precious little star daughter <3

Charlie Actually Dies For Real

A Smiling Friends AU by @Scribbly07 / @ScribblyShipping

This pinned post will serve as a “hub” that’ll contain links to everything important in the blog!

Plot: This AU serves as a fun “what if” scenario, where Charlie doesn’t come back after dying. (This means that no events after the episode don’t happen, too.) During his time in Hell, he progressively becomes more demonlike, with some unfortunate reminders of his death permanently stuck with him. He runs into some familiar faces along the way, too. Hes having a pretty hard time. And, despite what he hopes, things aren’t going so great in the realm of the living either.

I’m not too sure just how I want to tell this story yet. I have a basic plot rundown from beginning to end, but I’m unsure on how to tell everything and bridge the gaps. It might just be a mix of art and rambling posts, maybe even something more fanfic like if I can muster it.

I’ve decided that people can ask questions directed at the characters as well! You wanna know what Charlie’s up to in Hell right now? Go ask him!

Where’s Zoey?

Personally, I don’t really like Zoey, and will not be including her in this AU. She’s never really brought any sort of major impact in the show, so for all intensive purposes, she never existed within this timeline.

Where’s Mr. Boss?

Similarly to Zoey, I don’t really like him. He makes me uncomfortable on a much deeper level than Zoey, though. I don’t really want to touch him at all, so he’s just sort of in the background of this.

Where's Duncan?

Some as the two above this, I don't like him. His whole bit is being fat and throwing up. Why would I even give him the time of day?

Is there Charpim?

Well… they never got the chance to really make things official, but they were always very close, together on a deeper level than friends, but never found the words to confess.

Can I draw fanart?

Is selfshipping okay?

Yeah! Anyone can make an OC for this or do something like make a demon version of your OC. However. Unless you're a friend of mine, your character will not be considered "canon" to this AU.

Can other SF Ask Blogs interact?

I've always dreamed of interacting with other ask blogs and roleplaying so YES! I will say, though, that characters like Charlie and Pim are ones I have very Strong connections to that I may be uncomfortable responding to depending on the interpretation. Don't be upset if I never respond, it's just a weird brain thing I have!

That’s what everyone else wants to know lol

Pim gushes about her all the time yet none of his friends or his kids’ friends have ever met her. It’s getting to the point where folks are wondering if she even exists, or concerned that she’s a total deadbeat as a wife and mother and Pim is in denial about it. She’s kind of like those old “my girlfriend from Canada” jokes in the sense that Pim has all sorts of stories about her that become less believable the longer she remains seemingly hidden from the world. Has she REALLY met the First Lady? She hasn’t even met any of her husband’s or children’s closest friends.

It’s probably going to get to the point where Pim is old and crying about becoming a widower/making his wife a widow and his friends still don’t know who the hell she is lol. Even though Pim and his kids would insist otherwise, she clearly hasn’t been there for very much of their lives considering that the kids were always with their dad with no mom in sight. You can take that to mean she’s tragically neglectful towards her family or that she’s just horribly introverted or something. Either way the other Smiling Friends will never know for sure.

The out-of-universe reason for Mrs. Pimling being such a mystery is that I didn’t really ship Pim with anyone but still wanted him to have some children, so I left his wife completely ambiguous in a Charlie’s Uncle/Doctor Monster-style running bit, keeping with the silly tone of Smiling Friends. Pim always had a utopic view of his future marriage and children, but since it’s clearly not as blissful as he dreamed it seems like another area where he’s constantly catching L’s. But it’s all worth it to him in the end knowing he’s still making people smile and raising critters who he hopes will do the same
