I do feel like we've got the short end of the stick with everything pre-episode 8. (Sidenote: I'm British, so like we've been sort of robbed essentially).

Obviously Max has Fire Country to do as well, so he probably didn't have enough time to do anything else. It's likely they wouldn't have him lose his leg if he didn't have another show to do. Obviously doing both at the same time was a great personal risk for him, so I hope that works out!

Idk I just feel like they could've gone a different way about it, knowing he would die. The approach to the relationships between characters. They could've done much more with the limited scenes they had. Sad that we didn't get many positive scenes with Stella and Clay, or just domestic cuteness with Brian. Maybe even seeing Grandpa Ash to show their rekindled relationship. The scenes with Clay's family in felt a bit lacking considering what we know about him already. Although saying that, I do think that the plot and pacing of episodes 8 + 9 were really good and fit well with the established personality of characters.

I also know that quite a few people watch for Max or Clay as a character is a strong incentive for them continuing to watch. So I'm intrigued if viewership will drop or (if renewed) they'll decide to do more action, focus on Stella (If Alona will still even be written into it) or Ray/Naima to make up the lack of 'home" scenes.
