What are your favourite Sabaciel headcannons? Think you would ever lose interest in Sebaciel?
Hi anon!
Here are some of ns//fw headcanons...
Let's start with cassic, I love the fact that Sebastian speaks latin to Ciel while they have sex
Sebastian whispers the word Adamo into Ciels ear when he enters him the first time and when he finishes inside or elsewhere on Ciel's body
They both love quoting. Take phylosophers for example. Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, you name it, it get's them going 'cause they love playing with words, they certainly flirt like that
Ciel's favourite parts to be touched by the demons lips are the back of his neck, just where his hair ends and the part where his tiny back turns into bum, the boy got very sensitive back, to say the least...
Sebastian greatly enjoys sneaking into his master's chambers when the boy's asleep and appreciating the sleeping earl, most of the times it doesn't end up by just watching...
Sebastian gets harder when he sees how the little bum takes his cock and how the tiny ass cheeks kisses his happy trail
After the Green witch arc, Ciel got quite curious about Sebastian's tendrills. The young earl enjoys the potentional danger Sebastian's demonic self represnets. Imagining how he can get in control of the beast crawling between his legs. As for Sebastian, he truly enjoys these games and loves to travel the dark swirls of nothing and anything all over Ciel's body,
He, of course, travels the tendrills through Ciel's insides too. During the boy's orgasm, Sebastian enters the earl's velvet heat and dominates the boy's insides, then the darkness leaves through Ciel's little mouth
Sebastian's cum is black™
Sebastian's dick adores the boy's lips... the best when the boy's asleep
Ciel always ends up with teary eyes, overwhelmed with pleasure, shaky limbs and heavy pounding chest
As much as Sebastian loves to mark his master's skin, his elegant nature can't help but be really gentle with Ciel. Inhaling the boy's scent like a hungry animal. The tips of his bare fingers circling the boys hot stomach, watching it twist and turn under his touch, the boy is under his mercy. That all is just...enjoyable for the demon so to say...
🦋 Humble Lepidoptera Sebaciel section 🦋
Sebastian uses butterflies to tease Ciel. Making the delicate creatures walk and flutter around the boy's warm underbelly
Sebastian can also control the butterflies or make ones from his dark tendrills to make the experience even more intense
When Sebastian (in a butterfly form) first met Ciel, the curious boy put him in his mouth, wondering how butterflies might taste... Sebastian never forget that moment and used it against the young one by teasing him while he was burried deep inside the boys mouth moaning things like... ,,Ah, this is much better then when I was inside your mouth for the first time." or ,,This time, I quite enjoy the wetness of your little warm mouth."
Okay let's not make it really long, as for your second question, that one is kinda hard to answer.
It happened to me about 2 years ago. This blog was quite dead during 2019-2020 and I even deleted much of the Sebaciel stuff that was here (yes i regret it and I slap myself everytime I think about it 😩) BUT IM BACC HERE and my love for Sebaciel is going pretty strong, they are perfect to me 😚🦋

🍵Japanese Reactions☕ Kuromyu 2021
Dear everyone, I received overwhelmingly many questions about Japanese audience reactions, so here you go!
Methodology:
For this post I logged out from Twitter to avoid any bias because of my own user algorithm, and just simply searched the term “kuromyu” (生執事) , and selected “latest tweets”. As you can see, all posts have the word 生執事 in bold, meaning that was my search term.  There are a LOT of reactions, I can’t possibly discuss them all. What I did was just search at any random point of time, and take every other comment. I censored the usernames of the commenter to protect some (ceremonial) level of privacy.
Tumblr media
I watched the Kuromyu costume rehearsal and cried, this is not it,,I think it might be better to go to Osaka [performance] without expecting too much I shouldn’t expect the Kuromyu of until last time
Tumblr media
Honestly no matter how often I watch [the musical] this time’s Kuromyu is fantastic... as someone who knows the energy of the original comics, I really enjoyed it...
Tumblr media
In Kuromyu Violet and Chesslock were the real thing
Like Violet’s way of walking being so slothful it was like the real thing, and the rapping of Chesslock in the cricket scene was cool
The reception of this time’s Kuromyu is entirely polarised, and indeed [this production] has a very different taste than the ones until now so I also understand the people who criticise it, but I think that’s fine.
Tumblr media
Click “keep reading” for (a LOT) more reactions. Don’t lie to yourself and not click it, I know you all want the tea. Here’s the tea (ÒvÓ)ノ☕
Tumblr media
There’s so much thought going on now I have seen the PV of Kuromyu. Eh? Because he [probably Konishi (Ciel)] has roots in Tennis [Probably prince of Tennis] once he holds the cricket it just looks like he’s swinging a tennis racket.
Bocchan is just too big, I’m not sure about that.
I only watched until half way ー
Tumblr media
Calling it the Prince of Cricket is too befitting😂 Such singing and dancing, the youthfulness is exploding. They sure have stamina. #Kuromyu
Tumblr media
Ah ーSomehow a lot of memories just popped up tears really are welling up... even though my deep-seated grudge has now passed, my obsession for Kuromyu surfaced, and it felt like it got beaten to a pulp by its big brother...
My heart is recovering through the Kuromyu DVD but the big brother is still the big brother... sob...sob (the dirty wailing of an otaku)
TLN: Big brother here means something’s superiour or better.
Tumblr media
It became this production that made me think: Never mind the actors but is it the problem of the makers? Erm. I think it’s a waste. Is it because it’s the footage of the first day performance?
I don’t have the feeling that it’s not that, but that it somehow became cheaper? Is a really strong thought I got from this performance. With this line-up [of cast/staff] it should have been able to create the high quality of Kuromyu, but the impression is that it was a mess.
Tumblr media
I finished watching kuromyu. Erm... somehow... it was a theatre production that strongly reminded me of the first Lycoris (the cheapness of the set), felt like they tried to create the feeling of🎾but failed, and tried to do something trendy (🎤) but then the production lost the sense of unity.
Well Mr. Tate’s [Tateishi] Sebas was good, and Undertaker’s acting was good (make up...)
Tumblr media
I’ve watched the stream of Kuromyu countless times and gotten used to the songs, and even though I miss the old Kuromyu, maybe it’s not so bad that somebody who can’t let go is rewatching something countless times. If next time they will do the Cult Arc or the Witch Arc I’d be pursuing it. Honestly I want them to stage Lycoris again ←
Tumblr media
Kuromyu was this place where I got stimulated by Yuta’s TOHO quality, Ms. AKANE [Madam Red] and Ms. Son [Akisono, Frances]’s Takarazuka quality. The synergy of everything, the original manga’s story, actors, music, directing all were so perfectly done in the past three productions they sure have become a tremendous bar. Once again Yuta, thank you for playing Sebas for us for three times 🥺✨
Tumblr media
Kuromyu really was too fun, I’m in trouble
Tumblr media
Honestly ------------- Kuromyu was so fun !!!!!!!!! Yasue-kun, you also go watch soon!! Ah, you going tomorrow???
Tumblr media
It might be quite unsatisfying for people who only watch Kuromyus that are like Imperial Theatre grand musicals, but I think it’s good that it’s a bit like the Kuromyus of the beginning of before when they adapted the manga arcs
Tumblr media
I watched Kuromyu and had fun 😊
I cried, I laughed, it was amazing anyway!
It was the first time watching a musical for me but I think I’ve been sucked into it...
Shall I buy the DVD, I’m indecisive 🌀🤔💭
Tumblr media
Now I’ve seen the PV of Kuromyu I don’t think it’s worth going at all... Even in the PV the vibe of 2.5D was ridiculously strong...
Tumblr media
My friend went to watch Kuromyu and gave me the review: “I’ve seen all sorts of 2.5, why did they do this for Black Butler. It’s trivial.” I’ve only seen the PV so I won’t say anything, and I really get what I’m refraining from saying. But Mr. Kuma once tweeted the descriptions of Black Butler, I guess it’s fine that the Boarding School Arc feels like this 🤔
Click here for the translation of this tweet. The description of the Weston Arc is as such:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(To the people who will be going to see it I’m sorry)
They did say that the staff along [with the cast] would entirely be renewed, but I feel like they’re actively trying to shake off the fans of Kuromyu until now   I’m a bit sad but I guess I won’t be watching [Kuromyus] anymore... I feel like      But I am buying the stream    I’ll think about it after I’ve bought it...
Tumblr media
Anyway about Kuromyu, my mom said she wanted to watch it too so I watched it again with her yesterday, and she sure had a lot to say 😶 My father pulled this weird face of “what is this even” and I had to see him off halfway 😑 I thought about buying the stream of the final performance, but I guess I don’t need a second viewing. I don’t feel like watching the archive either. I really liked the Kuromyu of until now, my shock is too big.
Tumblr media
At the beginning [of the musical] we looked back on Lycoris, Circus and Luxury Liner... kinda like some sort of recap, but I thought “huh?”... now I just want to watch that. I used to like Kuromyu, I really have trouble accepting it this time it’s painful.
Tumblr media
But honestly when talking about Kuromyu it’s the Sebas with the superb voice who sung about the dynamic with the little lord full of emotion and built the world view, and for better or for worse the world view of Kuroshitsuji is maintained through Sebaciel, the songs, the directing of Sebaciel, but what happened there. Whether you should watch it or not. The past 3 productions were masterpieces、、、
Tumblr media
But Sebas is not Mr. Furukawa, Ciel is not Reo-kun and even Mr. Izumi’s [role] of Undertaker was unfortunately changed, this is the new Kuromyu huh...
Tumblr media
I watched the stream of the first performance.
I liked the songs so I checked, and I knew it.
This time has a lot of laughing factors, and I thought it was good it had a fresh cast.
I didn’t expect the cricket scene to be taken that far. I thought it was Tenimyu.
Tumblr media
Kuromyu, this time be it the story, script, directing or casting, I thought: “it’s more enjoyable to take up this [musical] while temporarily erasing the memories of until now ~🎶”, and I watched the theatre piece without looking back to the past productions, and that was the right decision   To the people who came to love Kuromyu of until now, it’s safer to watch it while temporarily erasing the memories.
Tumblr media
Did Kuromyu turn into Tenimyu half way?! I thought,
and the Elite Musical → 2.5D Musical transformation I also felt
Konishibocchan being cutesy was cute, and the P4′s desperate faces resonated all went by in a flash
Above was the report from the theatre ☺️
Tumblr media
I went to Kuromyu
I went into it knowing it’d surely be something different from the past productions so it indeed turned out to be so
There were parts that made me go “erm the script....” and also this part that made me go “was it really necessary to make Undertaker descend into that dream in Act 1 just because you wanted to give him stage time??”
Tumblr media
I went into 2 shocks gradually
Sebas doesn’t sing He only sings properly at the very beginning of the beginning Even though he’s Sebas There’s no ending solo Even though he’s Sebas
You’re the ♪ah~a~a~ number-one main character though!! That’s why this one!!! Is the N・E・W production--!!!!
I am in shock
I   A M  I  N   S  H  O  C  K  ANGER!!!
Tumblr media
I watched the Kuromyu stream!
It was TOTALLY 2.5D~❕❕😁It was also a school setting and the Tenimyu vibes were strong (laughs)
It’s a bit of a shame that Ciel isn’t played by a child actor anymore, but because he has more stage time than Sebas has this time I caccept it.
Sebas and Ciel’s visuals are also good ~ ☺️
It’d be even cooler if they increased the fight scenes with Sebas though.
Tumblr media
@ivvy_toshiki [Tateishi Toshiki (Sebastian)’s Twitter account]
Thanks for the hard work in the performance.
Today I saw the “first viewing of Kuromyu” of my dreams 🥀😆 Regardless of what I could say Sebastian’s beauty is from beginning to end spellbinding ☺️  My eyes were very happy. moreover, the songs and the killing were also AMAZING 😍 my eyes were nailed to Sebastian. I want to watch it again 💕☺️  I wish that the performances will go without a hitch until the final performance ❕
Tumblr media
I was so happy to see the recap of the past productions
I really liked the Circus Arc (original comics), and even though it was comedy it really dived into the darkness! That was the story I also didn’t expect to see the Luxury Liner Arc So Undertaker, for real... for
Tumblr media
Up to the last time there weren’t that many songs in total, but there were songs like I shall become your pawn and sword and the contract that made me go BATHUMP--- I have to rewatch this number!!! It’s a shame that this time there were no songs like that.
#Kuromyu
Tumblr media
Calling it the Prince of Cricket is too accurate 😂 They sang and danced so much, the youthfulness was bouncing off it. What stamina they have. #Kuromyu
Tumblr media
What’s different from the last time is the strong 2.5D vibe...... Until now the ages [of the characters] were fairly faithful [to canon] and in a good way there was no 2.5D-ness and I could just enjoy it as a proper theatre piece This time both the casting including the music had a strong 2.5D vibe for better or for worse #Kuromyu
Tumblr media
Very personally! Matsushita’s Sebas was “heavy as the evil of evil and beautiful”, and Furukawa’s Sebas was  “evil, strong and unapproachable and beautiful and gorgeous”, and Tateishi’s was “light hearted and beautiful and a florid kind of evil”!! (My vocabulary is failing me) All Sebastians have a different aura about them it’s fantastic!!! #Kuromyu
Tumblr media
The new Sebas is good
Overall
It’s this arc so that it’d get a chit-chat idol? vibe was within the expectation The cricket of the second half had a bad vibe and I was sick of it It might have been different had I watched it live I don’t like the Boarding School and Green Witch arc that much to begin with I am looking forward to the appearance of the real Ciel That's it for now
Tumblr media
I don’t know why I’m mentally dead but it must be that, I watched the Kuromyu stream and I am thoroughly dead, mentally dead, but as I managed to say this I’ve reached a level that I recovered a bit??? I am too tired but I don’t feel like sleeping, but if I doze a bit then I realise my fatigue and feel like sleeping unnecessarily
Tumblr media
This time’s kuromyu... erm I guess I’ll quit 🤔
Tumblr media
I’ll be rant-puking for a bit
I’ve seen a lot of Tenimyu and A-stage [Mankai A3] but it’s not like I wanted to see that in Kuromyu... What I wanted to see was Kuromyu...
Tumblr media
I watched the video of the Kuromyu PV? but it’s impossible. Watching the PV [I thought] children should be played by children... and as I watched their interaction it’s not the character building I had in mind... and there’s no wound on the vice principal’s forehead. I planned to watch the stream of the final performance, but I’m hesitant about spending more money to watch that... If I can’t accept Ciel and Sebastian I can’t watch this, that’s just me...
Tumblr media
Now I’ve read the reviews of Kuromyu all are saying it went back to 2.5D, and I think that it’s not worth going after all. It’s probably because the Kuromyus until now far surpassed the quality of 2.5D... I guess it’s fine if one were to go for the cast, but I really loved the Kuromyu of until now.

hello! this might be a little odd to ask since I don't think you've ever talked about this publicly, but I really value your opinion and think you are super well-read so I wondered what your thoughts were on this!!! My gf recently got me into kuroshitsuji, and I was wondering if you had any thoughts on sebaciel, as a psychological concept? (I really liked your ks analysis!!! also I don't want you to think I'm asking for an actual analysis or anything I was just curious!!!)
Oh dear, I haven’t read Kuroshitsuji in years. I think I stopped some point near the end of the boarding school arc. Thank you for your kind words, by the way - true or not, I’m glad that is the impression I give off, ahaha.
Just on a surface level, I think the Kuroshitsuji animes were the ones that really leaned into the fanservice. There may have been some scenes in the manga that are evading my memory, but there’s no denying that the anime hinted at it far more heavily. As such, I feel that fans who only watched the anime - or watched the anime first - are more likely to end up shipping SebaCiel. However, I pretty much reject the first two anime and haven’t seen the Book of Circus, so my answer will have to focus on the manga.
Regardless, I know this is a touchy subject for a lot of people, fans and non-fans alike, so my response is below the cut:
My thoughts on the concept of SebaCiel, hm… I can see where people might be getting it, I think, but I don’t necessarily understand it. When I read the manga when I was a teenager, I didn’t realize that people shipped the two characters romantically/sexually. It just didn’t occur to me.
So personally, when I read Kuroshitsuji, I saw no romantic or sexual chemistry there (and this isn’t even mentioning the fact that Ciel Phantomhive as written is a literal child, aha;;). What I saw in Kuroshitsuji and what appealed to me as a reader was a fascinating power dynamic, wrapped up in a weird business arrangement, and I think there-in lies the issue.
Perhaps it’s just because I’m aroace, but I personally feel that a lot of readers fail to acknowledge that there can be an emotional/mental intimacy in a relationship without romance. Similarly, there is a failure to acknowledge that there can be a power dynamic or obsession without sexual undertones.
From my limited knowledge of the SebaCiel fandom, it seems to me that the ship is built more upon sexual content rather than romantic fluff, which plays into my point. I believe that a lot of people end up shipping SebaCiel because of the underlying power dynamic between the two throughout the entirety of the manga, which many readers automatically associate with sexual themes.
I cannot speak for the intention of the author as to whether Kuroshitsuji is meant to encourage shipping Sebastian and Ciel or not. I do believe she started as a BL author, which could mean that any homoerotic undertones (should they be present; I don’t personally remember any, it’s been a while) are intentional. It could also just mean that she’s so used to drawing them that she doesn’t know how to draw pretty scenes without them, ahaha.
However, from a storytelling perspective myself, I don’t see any grounds for a romantic or sexual relationship between the two. Ciel is wholly focused on his revenge, fully intending to die - a little too busy for romance, and he holds his responsibilities as a noble to a certain esteem, which means that were he not to die, he would probably fully intend to marry his fiancee Elizabeth, without affair.
As for the demon himself, my interpretation at the time of reading - which, again, it’s been years - was that what Sebastian got out of this relationship was Ciel’s own corruption of self. Yeah, he likes the corruption of an innocent soul or whatnot, but what he got out of their weird pact was a front-row seat to Ciel’s self-destructive journey. He is basically ensuring that his favorite cake is baking properly, and his whole interest in Ciel is because Ciel himself is the one corrupting his own soul, without Sebastian’s direct involvement or encouragement.
Since that’s Sebastian’s role in all this, I don’t see it as a strong possibility that he would, I don’t know, seducing Ciel for laughs as a viable option, and if he attempted, I imagine Ciel would firmly shut it down, and if Ciel expresses no interest, Sebastian wouldn’t waste the effort on trying.
Further, I cannot actually imagine Sebastian actually harboring any affection for Ciel. He is a demon, fundamentally different from a human. What he is there for is the promise of one of the best soul meals of his life - he cares for Ciel to the extent I might care for a Michelin star Asian-style Strawberry Shortcake: I’m going to watch the chef, sit in front of the oven and stare at it while it is cooking, make sure it’s decorated to my liking, and I am going to kill anyone who tries to prevent me from eating the whole thing after I waited so long. Heck, I’ll probably kill anyone who even smears the icing.
However, even without a sexual or romantic component, the two characters do still undeniably have both a power dynamic and a codependence. They both are incredibly prideful, and they are both bonded together despite their personal animosity for a perceived mutually beneficial outcome. Ciel holds power of Sebastian in all the public ways, as the Lord to demon’s Butler, but Ciel is also helplessly reliant on Sebastian when it comes to all the… supernatural stuff… and also not-so-supernatural stuff…
And personally, I love that. I love the stories where one character has all the cards and the other has to swallow their pride to get what they want, and I love stories about one-up-manship, and I love stories about people being forced to rely on one another. However, those dynamics do not have to be sexual, and they do not have to be romantic. Also, possessive behavior does not have to mean romantic/sexual obsession, especially when one character is technically a tool (a means to an end) and the other is literally a food source. I am pretty darn possessive of my laptop computer, and I would be pretty damn possessive over my Michelin-star strawberry shortcake.
I didn’t actually intend on this being such an effective analogy, but now I am super protective and territorial about this imaginary strawberry shortcake because by god, it has been years since I had a good one.
Still, my theory is that to a lot of people, when presented with a power dynamic in fiction, many readers immediately see a sexual appeal to it in a Dom/sub-esque fashion, and when presented with seeming emotional intimacy, they immediately see romantic potential. And though the author/artist may throw in fanservice, that’s just that - service. It doesn’t discourage the shippers, for sure, but it’s not necessarily support for it either.
Basically, due to modern culture, committed and or intimate and or passionate and or intense relationships in fiction are often perceived to be romantic and or sexual in nature when they do not have to be. Platonic relationships are underrated. Non-sexual hatred and obsession is underrated.
It could also just be that people are interpreting a business-arrangement-turned-emotionally-invested-relationship narrative as a platonic-relationship-turned-romantic one. I know a lot of people who think of platonic relationships as equivalent to mere acquaintanceship, and there-in might lie the issue. They may fail to perceive Ciel and Sebastian’s escalating emotional involvement (if there was any, I can’t remember) as a step up from a professional relationship. They may instead perceive it as a step up from a platonic one.
Also, Kuroshitsuji is one of those mangas a lot of people discover while young, so that may factor into the enthusiastic fandom and the eagerness for romance, considering most tween/young teen books angling for girls are romantic in nature and that is how many girls are used to relating to their fiction.
Sorry if this wasn’t the kind of answer you meant, and again, it has been years since I properly read the manga. I heard the two-Ciel theory’s been proven true? Fascinating.

*questions!
What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?*Claude x Alois: Alois was a sexually exploited and abused child with severe mental anguish. Claude is a manipulative demon who used Alois until he was no longer needed and then killed him prematurely in cold blood, not even to consume his soul but to utilize it for his own selfish gain for an even “better” soul. Alois thought he loved Claude only because he didn’t know what love was, and Claude took advantage of this. Although I love Claude for how he played that game, I can’t see, support, or promote the ship. This ship is outlandish to me and I ain’t for it, especially because I love Alois so much and I’m one of those fans who tried to understand where he was coming from and grew emotionally attached to him throughout the season.
Sebastian x Grell: I can possibly see it if it’s in a well written fic with lots of angst, but Grell is a waste of Sebastian’s time and my demon can do so much better. To legitimately ship them together is completely mute to me. I’d rather see Sebastian whip Ronald into shape if he had to be with a shinigami, and Grell finally getting with William. However, I love seeing these two fight and jest each other, I’m just not looking for them to fk.
Sebastian x Ciel (romantic shipping only): The relationship between these two is certainly something to behold, and a reason I kept with the series for so long. However, Ciel isn’t in love with Sebastian. Sebastian certainly isn’t in love with this kid. I support Sebaciel but do have my limits and think some fellow shippers take this one to a level I cannot think of without feeling some type of way about it. The ship in general is a guilty pleasure that I do not think is canon, however I can see the minute possibility of Sebastian sexually exploiting Ciel for reasons I doubt many supporters have considered. But the fact others sincerely romantically ship them completely flies over my head, and I don’t have enough real estate here to explain in detail of why Sebastian isn’t lascivious nor romantic BUT why he could be sexual with Ciel, why Sebastian appears to value Ciel’s innate purity (another topic on its own), and how I think Ciel views this demon. I cannot do romantic Sebaciel shipping. This anti-romance feeling gets stronger the deeper I get into the manga.
Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?*I don’t know if these are that popular amongst the shippers, but I bro ship these:
Finnian x CielGrell x RonaldWilliam x RonaldUndertaker x Vincent
Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?*Nah, only strengthened prior ones or continued to dissuade me of the ones I already disagree with
Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?The Real Ciel ❤ I shed a tear when I “heard” his voice and saw that little leg in ch 129. Instant love. I stan for the Real Ciel and am excited to learn about how the rest of the story will unfold with his return!!
Unpopular opinion about XXX character? (Undertaker)I didn’t start to love Undertaker as a character until the big reveal in the Weston College arc, which happens after Campania, my favorite arc. It was the icing on the cake for me; he keeps showing up out of nowhere and messing up everyone’s plans and I live for it. Anime-wise, he didn’t stand out for me at all until I saw the BOA movie and honestly the main reason I went to see it like 5 times was just to hear Suwabe’s performance over and over again. Seeing Undertaker there finally helped me realize why so many in the fandom see him as a kind of sex symbol, where before I just thought he was like, that broken record sound that came in to crash every kuro party.I’m also starting to wonder if Undertaker had some deeper feelings for Vincent that we will likely never learn about in canon?Popular character you hate?I think the only character I could say I highly dislike is Beast. I think she’s weak and ever since the seduction scene I’ve low-key started to hate her as a character. I think it’s because at the time I was afraid Yana was going to start sexualizing my favorite character in canon and that would both terrify and disappoint me. I have some strong opinions and headcanons about Sebastian and his sexuality that just get stronger and stronger the more I interact with him in this manga.
Most shippable character?Sebastian or Ciel, based on all the ships I either fully or semi-support, don’t mind reading, or discussing about:
Sebastian x UndertakerSebastian x CielSebastian x ClaudeSebastian x SnakeSebastian x RonaldSebastian x William
Ciel x UndertakerCiel x SebastianCiel x ElizabethCiel x Alois
Least shippable character?Agni. I don’t ship him with anyone and he’s perfect just the way he is, and gone way too soon :’(Sullivan. Just no.

Okay but the musicals aren't written by yana but the same people who gave us that awful anime?? Theres scene where Sebastian SPANKS Ciel and makes him meow in very sexual way?? That was so wrong. Grell is incompetent butt monkey despite yana saying she's a career woman who's good at her job and even RONALD, someone who admires her in manga, laughs at her. And Sebastian is not a man or male why is he into masculinity? I only like the actors and costumes, but not the script.
Follow up to this post in response to this post on Alan’s crossdressing & Laughing Stock.
Dear Anon,
Regardless of who wrote the script or produced the final product of MBD, it still doesn’t change the fact that the aspects mentioned in this post and this post are incredibly problematic.
Sebaciel fan-service is everywhere, but I did certainly hope that they would have spared the musicals where Ciel would be played by a real child. I probably had too much faith in humanity here XD
The Spanking Scene
The scene you mentioned where Sebastian spanks Ciel and makes him meow is indeed quite uncharacteristic of him. We have seen in the canon how Sebastian rather whip the boy’s hands. Hands are more sensitive than the behind, plus Ciel was wearing a Victorian bustle in the musical, so the impact of the spanking would have been muffled. Of course Sebastian is strong enough to reduce Ciel’s spine to powder - Victorian bustle or not - but that is not the point.
Tumblr media
Yes, we could argue that Sebastian was going for the humiliation-tactic instead, but that is not quite Sebastian’s style either, as his primary weapon is his words, not hands. In the scene in the Jack the Ripper Arc on which the spanking-scene was based, we see Sebastian make jabs at his master. He never did anything physical to him.

If I really wanted to, I could at least try to justify the spanking scene a little, because if the Sebaciel phenomenon didn’t exist already, then that scene may not have such a heavy pedophilic aftertaste. The problematic aspects are only as alarming as they are because this ship is well-known (and popular).
Those Creators, As Woke as a Snorlax
We know for sure that the spanking scene was designed as fan-service, as we have evidence that the creators have no scruples when it comes to the safety of children, WHATSOEVER. These are the same people who inserted the infamous corset scene™ , despite having the knowledge that a real CHILD would have to moan and play a heavily sexualised scene for a huge audience’s hedonistic pleasure.
Yes, we could still kinda…KINDA justify it a LITTLE by shoving the blame onto Yana who designed the scene in the first place, and say that the musical was just trying honour the canon… However, the story of MBD has nothing to do with the Jack the Ripper Arc to begin with, so that scene was still entirely unnecessary. Compare this to:
The Lycoris that Blazes the Earth, where the story WAS supposed to be as faithful to the manga canon as possible. The corset scene however, was deleted despite the fact that it would have had a place in the musical.
The Sebastian seducing Beast scene in Noah’s Ark Circus. Instead of simply mimicking the scene from the manga and saying  “that is just the intended choreography”, Furukawa respected Tano Asami’s autonomy and gave her full control in the scene.
The dancing scene in Tango on the Campania where Sebastian teaches Ciel how to dance. Despite that scene having the least sexual implications in this list, Furukawa still kept Reo at literal arms-length to minimise whatever implications people might still see.
So yes… because this ⇈ is possible too, MBD’s creators really have very little excuse left.
Rephrase: Those Creators, As Woke as a Hibernating Polarbear
If the shoe-horning of the corset scene in MBD isn’t enough to proof the mindset of MBD’s creators as problematic, then the following honestly should!
Tumblr media
In the special curtain call in celebration of Matsushita’s birthday, the creators arranged for a fan-service performance where they made 14 year-old Tanaka Taketo (Ciel) play the role of a seducer. Yes, we are looking at actual footage of a real child who was forced into the role of a sexual aggressor with a real adult. The boy had NO say in the matter!
Tumblr media
Matsushita seemed rather awkward at first, and seemingly uncomfortable. But then the audience cheered, and Matsushita seemed to have been caught by the flow. He raised his arm and caressed Taketo….
Tumblr media
I am so sorry for you boys… Sorry Nishii Yukito, sorry, Tanaka Taketo…
