There are heroes and then there are Heroes. The people who really inspire us to a higher calling and purpose. Those who we look to and think “Gosh! I am lifted up by you, what you stand for and how you speak truth to power.How you move in the world and make it a better place and how you bring others along with you.” The roll of a leader is to create more leaders not more followers.” Pete Buttigieg is that person for me. To have met him and speak to him about light pollution and the new blue rich/white LED headlights and the harm they are causing. And he responded “ We are starting to look at color temperature “ I was beside myself with glee. My plan is to follow up and see if the position of “ Dark Sky Guy” is available in the Department of Transportation. In all honesty, meeting him made my year. I’ve been around celebrity a good portion of my life but with him I was all tongue tied and flummoxed. If my heart rate was a seismograph San Francisco just had a big rock’n roll. I wanted Pete to be our President and would back him if he ran again. He is dauntless and compassionate and that he goes on Fox and faces the most skeptical of commentators, all the while smiling, is a sign of his courage and fortitude and genuine kindness. He teaches me to rise above detractors and embrace them as I would my supporters. This is what higher consciousness is about and he just makes it so accessible and models it impeccably. Here’s my shot of Pete Buttigieg at the Fox11 Town Hall to speak at a USC Political Assembly at Bovard Auditorium at USC. Today President Joe Biden announced that Pete Buttigieg will be nominate as Secretary of Transportation. Quoting the Advocate: “Buttigieg, a gay man, would be the first out member of the LGBTQ+ community to serve in a Senate-confirmed Cabinet post, if he is indeed confirmed.” I saw Mayor Pete for the first time with Jake Tapper’s CNN Town Hall at ACL with the two other two presidential candidates. He immediately struck me as way above par in articulating his political positions and he had convincing arguments for his positions. He blew up in 24 hours after that night. I think his knowledge and expertise has well enabled him for this cabinet position. Americans are benefit greatly from Biden’s smart insightful decision.
