“Hey Felix” you smiled “I don't, why ?” You chuckled, putting your math copybook in your backpack.

“Hum I was just wondering if-” He started.

“If you wanted to come with us at Hyunjin's”. Said Jisung, his best friend, slapping Felix on the butt.

“Yeah why not! When is it?”

“Saturday night 'til Sunday” Jisung replied, winking at you “Just the 6 of us, having fun...”

“Okay I'll come, See you later guys!”

You took your backpack and waved at them before leaving the classroom.

As soon as you left, Felix pushed Jisung.

“Dude! Are you serious?! I was going to ask your out!”

“I know but you looked so pathetic I had to do something for your own good” the boy replied, softly laughing

“You're an asshole...”

“I know baby”

Felix took his bag and left the classroom, followed by his best friend.

They were walking with Hyunjin to the convenience store to buy things for the weekend.

" So, what do we need?” Asked Hyunjin, pushing the cart

“Snacks, ramyeon, instant rice and alcohol...” Said Jisung, putting bags of potato chips in the cart.

“By the way, Y/N is coming” continued Jisung, which instantly made Felix blush

“Really”

“Yup, I invited her! Felix was too scared to do it”

“I wanted to but he came and humiliated me!” Said the youngest, hitting Jisung’s arm

“Anyways...no one cares about who invited her” cut Hyunjin rolling his eyes

“Yeah, the important info is that she’ll be here ~ I can't wait!” Continued Jisung

" Where is that damn shoe?! You screamed as you were finishing to get ready for the little party at Hyunjin’s.

After 15 minutes of intense research, you finally found it under your bed and put it on before taking your bag.

You looked at yourself in the mirror one last time and exited your house.

Hyunjin’s place wasn’t actually far from your house so you could go by foot.

A few minutes later, you arrived and rung the bell.

Jinsung opened the door.

"Hey! You're here! GUYS Y/N IS HERE!”

Chan exclaimed the moment you entered in the house.

“Hey guys!” You smiled, grabbing the red cup Jisung was handing you.

“Wow this is really good!” You stated, drinking a little bit of the blue drink.

“You like it? I made it, it’s a special mix!” He bragged, causing Felix to roll his eyes.

Suddenly, one of your favorite song started playing, you put the cup down and walked towards the living room, where Hyunjin and two other girls were dancing.

“I love that song! Who wants to dance?” You asked,

Felix and Jisung looked at each other, as if they were in a competition.

“Me!” They exclaimed at the same time.

The three of you started to dance together.

Felix was in front of you, your hand was on his shoulder while Jisung was behind your, his hand on your hip and his head on your shoulder.

Felix was pissed off. Jisung was his best friend but he kept on flirting with you while he knew he had a crush on you.

You were beautiful, Felix knew a lot of people liked you but Jisung already had a "girlfriend"...In fact, Mina wasn't really is girlfriend...they were more like friends with benefits, even though Felix was pretty sure Mina had very strong feelings for Jisung.

A few hours later, the mood was still up and you were looking for something fun to do.

Felix was just chilling with Hyunjin because Hyunjin was god-knows-where and he didn't want to go look for him.

You were really drunk, you knew it though, so you weren’t totally wasted.

You were going to the kitchen to drink some water when a hand grabbed your wrist and pulled you.

You landed on a totally wasted Jisung's lap.

“Heeeeey youuu ~” He said smiling like an idiot.

“I think you're drunk Jisung!” You laughed because you were too.

“Wooow since when do you have freckles??? Wait. imma count’em…” He slurred, approaching his finger from your face

“wait do I have freckles?” you replied, not being able to think straight

He started to count your imaginary freckles really seriously and you cracked up because he was actually really cute.

“You know you ...are... really cute. I love how you dress too…I wanted to tell you buuuut..oh butt hihi butt!” You said, feeling your head spinning

He kissed your forehead.

“You’re a bit too high”

He kissed your nose.

“Still too high...”

The moment he pecked your lips, Felix entered the kitchen with Mina and Hyunjin.

Felix was mad. He grabbed your hand and led your upstairs.

“Waaait …Lee Felix what are you doing??? Okay slow down I’m gonna be sick”

“Shhh!” he simply replied

He pushed you in one of the bedrooms and closed the door.

“You're so annoying! Why are you like that? Don't you see that he just doesn't care about you like I do?? Gosh I hate this...” he complained

You lied on the bed, ready to fall asleep

“Huh?”

“Ugh…nothing…just forget it.”

He sat on the bed next to you.

“I know you're drunk and probably not even listening to me but...” He started

You took the end of his shirt and started to play with it which made him softly chuckle.

“-but I just wanna say that I really like you, even if you like Jisung more or don't like me at all, I just wanted you to know that...”

You stayed silent and kept playing with his clothes like a child.

“Yeah...as expected you're not even listening...”

He was about to stand up when you said seriously:

“I like you Felix…”

He literally froze in place and turn around.

“Huh?? what did you just say??”

You were talking really slowly

“I said: I like you Felix at least I think I do”

“Are you serious though???”

“you're nice and funny...Jisung is nice too...and cute…I think he kissed me earlier…”

“Yes... he did.”

“Oh…but why though? Because I like you not him.”

“Because you're totally adorable and pretty...and since he knows I've had a crush on you since middle school, he wanted to piss me off...and he succeed.”

“You had a crush on me all this time? That's cute.”

you stopped to think about what you wanted to say.

“I guess I kind of had a crush on you too at some point...like, last year when we were next to each other in English class? Every time we had to work together, I would feel my heart beat faster.”

Felix was shaking, a drunk Y/N was "confessing" to him in Jisung's parent’s bedroom at 1:26 am.

You were talking as if Felix wasn’t even here

“Or you know when we did a giant "spin the bottle" game in p.e class in 8th grade and you had to kiss this girl, I don’t even remember her name…? I didn't leave because I went to the bathroom. I was just jealous... And when you performed the school drama with Chaeyoung, I wished so bad I was her…you know I like you a lot but I will never admit it…because at school all these guys hit on me every day but in fact I've never had a boyfriend in my life...and I secretly wish you would be my first...you know…”

Felix was probably smiling like an idiot.

You two kept silent for a long moment and when Felix talked again, you didn’t answer.

“Y/N? Oh she’s sleeping...I should leave then.”

He stood up but you grabbed his hand.

“Can you…stay? It's cold…” you whispered

“Sure.”

He took off his jacket and laid down next to you.

You snuggled up against him and put your head in the crook of his neck.

-You smell...so good…

Felix was so happy that he felt like his heart would explode. It was probably the best day of his life.

— Of all the awful things about working at The Gap - the long hours, dealing with (annoying) people, having to fold hundreds of neon shirts countless times throughout the day, doing inventory - the thing you hated the most was closing up the store.

You hated the creepy, empty environment, having to check every room to see if there was anyone there (yup, like a robber would yell “hey, over here!”), and having to turn off all the lights before locking everything up.

(Even though you were over eighteen, you still flipped the switch and ran upstairs every time you grabbed a cup of water in the middle of the night at home.)

(You did the exact same thing at The Gap. Turned off switches and just ran.)

(Good thing there was no one to watch you.)

(Except, y’know, the imaginary robber.)

And today, it would be your lucky day to close up the shop.

You were dreading it.

And you were also regretting agreeing to see Friday The 13th with your brother that past weekend, cause now your mind was playing tricks on you.

First, you could’ve sworn that a blazer with very dramatic shoulder pads on the fitting room was actually a person, and almost had a heart attack.

Then, a hanger fell out of nowhere from a pile as you were locking up the break room and you were pretty certain that if someone, anyone, was hiding out trying to rob The Gap they’d be deaf by now, because you let out the most embarrassing, ear piercing scream you could muster.

And now you were hearing footsteps.

Taking a deep breath and praying to God it was all in our head, you hid behind a rack of ugly neon shirts, holding an iron that you found at the back to your chest.

Someone was approaching.

Someone had actually entered the store, and you hang onto the iron until you heard that said someone was close and just…

“Hello?”

Threw it at them.

“Oh my God, you could’ve killed me!” The intruder yelled, and “Oh my God, what the fuck are you doing here?!”, you yelled back, coming out of your hiding spot.

The intruder was wearing a ridiculous sailor outfit.

The intruder was Steve Harrington.

You let out a breath of relief. You knew Steve. You went to high school together. He was a major dick but had fantastic hair.

“I heard someone screaming and I came running to check out what happened.” He still seemed startled by almost getting hit on the face with an ironing device.

“Oh. Sorry.” You picked up the iron from where it landed, a feet away from him “I hope this isn’t broken or my manager is gonna murder me.”

“You could’ve killed me, Y/N.”

“Sorry, wasn’t expecting a knight in shining armor.” You replied sarcastically and Steve rolled his eyes.

Typical you, he thought. Queen of Sarcasm.

“Anyway, is everything okay?”

“Uh, sure, it was just an… well, I think you deserve the truth.” You knew that if you two were still in high school you’d get mocked endlessly once that got out but, at the moment, you couldn’t care less “I got spooked by a hanger that fell. It was very creepy and I watched a horror movie on pure peer pressure so I might be traumatized for life. Sorry.”

“You’re closing this entire thing alone?” Steve looked concerned and you guessed the rumors were true.

King Steve had changed from High School to now.

“Yes, but I am almost done. I think. I kinda got distracted after the hanger thing and I started hearing footsteps.”

“Do you need help?”

“Yes!” You replied, maybe a little too eagerly.

(Not because he was King Steve With The Good Hair and all of that.)

(You hated closing so much that if Freddy Krueger had offered you help, you might’ve taken him for it.)

(Okay, maybe not.)

Steve gave you a sideways smile - one of those that, maybe once upon a time, would’ve made your heart do little pirouettes, taking the iron from your hands “I hate closing alone too. And Ahoy is probably as big as your fitting room.”

“You on solo duty tonight too?”

“Yes, Robin uhm, she had to leave early” He seemed embarrassed “She had ahm, lady problems”

You scoffed “Steve, y’know that’s a lie right?”

He actually looked appalled and you wanted to laugh.

“The girl who was supposed to close up with me beat me up to it and used the exact same excuse to our manager. I’d be mad if I hadn’t done the same thing last time.”

(You really hated locking up the store.)

You’d feel bad for Steve if you didn’t have an amazing memory and remembered when, a long time ago, when you two were juniors, had Science together and had to do a presentation in front of the class.

He bailed on your group by saying he had basketball practice every single time you guys tried to schedule a meeting.

(Your group ended up doing the entire thing without him.)

(Still put his name on the final paper because he was King Steve and all the boys were terrified.)

(On the day of the presentation, he said three lines as charmingly as possible, made the teacher blush and got an A overall.)

“Can you help me fold these ugly shirts? Then I’ll just lock the register and on our merry way we go.”

“Sure thing.”

Should you say something?, you wondered. Were you two even friends? You were friendly enough, you supposed, he may have been king of Hawkings High, but you weren’t a complete loser.

(Or at least you hoped you weren’t.)

(Fuck, were you?)

(Hell, it didn’t even matter now.)

And what could you even say?

Nice hair? Nice uniform? Fun summer huh?

So you decided to let the comfortable silence reign.

Meanwhile.

The silence was getting uncomfortable in Steve’s head.

Should he say something? Robin talked about you often enough. Said you gave her all of your employees discount and were saving up money to go to some fancy Ivy League. He didn’t doubt it - he knew you were smart. You two had lots of classes together growing up. Should he ask something? About college? Well, then he’d have to talk about his disastrous acceptance experience and that wouldn’t be so nice and yup, the silence was dragging and God he hated it, he had to say something to you, had to and…

“So, ahm… You come here often?”

You stopped folding one of those ugly neon shirts halfway through.

“Well, I work here. So I think I’d have to say ‘yes’.”

He wanted to hit himself in the face. He’d been out of practice for so long he had to let out the most obtuse pick up line in the planet to one of the few girls who’d never let him live it down.

(And whom, he was just starting to realize, he didn’t want to leave with the Steve Harrington is a complete Idiot impression.)

Fantastic.

“I…” he started, and, eager to break the silence and noticing how embarrassed he was, you interrupted cheerfully “Best and worst thing about working at the mall, go!”

“Erm, best: I can get all the free ice cream that I want. Worst: that’s really starting to show up on my adult size small sailor uniform.”

“For me the best is… definitely the employees discount.” You paused “Although I wouldn’t want to use it on this ugly thing.”

(The ugly neon shirt was indeed very ugly.)

“And the worst, wait, wait, let me guess.” Steve pretended to think for a second “closing up the store?”

“I just think the mall gets so creepy when it’s empty.” You shuddered “I’d rather deal with a thousand stay at home moms yelling at me cause their shirt shrunk than closing this goddamn place one more time.”

“Wishful thinking, y’know. Keep thinking that everyone else except you will get the locking duty.” He replied, with a solemn tone on his voice.

That was a side you didn’t know: Steve Harrington, advice master.

“Think that works?” You eyed him skeptically.

“You’ll never know if you don’t really try.” He shrugged, and you two made small talk for a while longer.

After making sure everything was at it’s expected place (except the iron, cause Steve was pretty much sure it was broken and asked if he could give it to a “friend of his who likes building stuff and could use this”, which you agreed to, as it was always better to get rid of any crime evidence), you helped Steve close up Scoops Ahoy (and took the opportunity to try every single ice cream flavor without someone behind you breathing down your neck).

As you said your goodbyes at the parking lot - Steve walking you to his car like the gentleman he was -, he made you promise that, if all the wishful thinking failed and you had to lock the store by yourself again, you’d hop by Scoops Ahoy to let him now.

(And to get some free ice cream.)

You promised, and you went for a mocking salute as he went for a hug and it was awkward and nice and little did you know that would be the last time you’d be closing up The Gap.

Cause on the week after, something uber strange would happen, half of the mall would get destroyed and you’d lose your job.

That was the thought running through your mind as you went to the videostore to grab some movies, as you had lot of time to kill and wasn’t exactly ready yet to go job hunting on retail again.

You were surprisingly greeted by Steve.

No stupid sailor hat now, just his regular old clothes and hair in all of it’s full, tall, thick glory.

“Hey! At least no more closing up the shop at eleven pm!”

“At least that! That wishful thinking thing really does work, huh?”

Steve smiled. Behind you, Robin was mouthing “ask her out! Ask her out!”

Noticing something going on behind your back, you turned to face her, a huge grin on her face as she spoke “So, hey Y/N! Do you come here often?”

You laughed, Steve groaning and with a shrug you replied “Not really, but I might start showing up more.”

“I leave at seven!” Steve quipped, and you nodded, grabbing your movies (the horror one for your brother obviously, you learned your lesson).

“I might show up again at seven then.”

The renters upstairs have been my friends for a long time and they needed an apartment so we rented to them for $535 a month. I received a call on Saturday from a claims specialist. They told me that because I am not on the insurance, they may not cover the repairs. They are looking into whether or not she in fact did try to add me. If they can't find that she did try to add me, they said they will not cover it. Shouldn't they pay for it no matter what. My hubby had two claims from a sleep study clinic that were marked as Out of network by my insurance. As such, the insurance company cut me a check for the portion of the bill that they are required to pay (instead of paying the clinic directly). “A girl I used to know told me a story that her ex husband used to wake up in the middle of the night because someone was tickling his feet. She told him her dad used to tickle her and her sisters feet to wake them up for school in the morning. So when weird things started happening around the house they would just say “knock it off dad” and it would stop. Well one day something happened in the kitchen (I don’t remember what) and she said “knock it off dad” and as she was walking out the door something growled in her ear “I’m not your dad”. They moved out a few weeks later.”

The man with the mustache

“When my son was about 3 he had a tent canopy attached to his bed frame. It covered about 3/4 of the length of his bed. He would always scoot towards the head of the bed and insisted covering up head to toe with his blanket, no matter how warm it was. I couldn’t turn off the lights until he was finished. I figured it was normal kid stuff. One night, just out of curiosity, I asked why he covered up so thoroughly. His response, “Because the man with the mustache won’t stop touching me. He’s always trying to tickle me. If I’m covered and way up here, he can’t reach me”. No one else had access to our house so needless to say, that scared the crap out of me. Till this day he still covers with his blanket, no matter how warm it is, although not as thoroughly as he used to. He doesn’t remember the man but still will not go to bed uncovered. He’s a teen now.”

“Ex-girlfriend moved into an apartment across the street from me, and told me her little brother had a new “imaginary friend” named Alex. Well I had been living in that neighborhood for about 5 years and 3 years prior to her moving in my neighbor Alex hung himself in that house.”

“When I was a teenager in Colorado Springs we all used to crawl though this small tunnel that was directly under the interstate to get back and fourth from our neighborhood to the shitty trailer park with out obviously having to jump fences and run across the highway.

One drunken night alone I was on my way home about 2-3 am I came out of the tunnel only to find myself face to face with this huge rottweiler staring at me. I was in shock for a second, my stomach dropped. Instinctively I started yelling at the damn dog to go home. He just stood there glaring at me and every step I slowly took trying to get away he would bark and growl showing his teeth. So I started stomping towards him in a dominant way yelling at him to go on.

He turned and took steps back but still proceeded in torturing me barking and growling. I stupidity drunkenly started to power walk away. I then heard his feet running towards me as I had my back turned away from him. I turned back around only to see him lunging at me. I fell, when I turned and looked up the damn dog was completely out of sight as if I imagined the entire thing. To this day I don’t know if the dog was somebody’s pet or what. I didn’t hear him running away after I fell so I’ll never know I guess. Maybe he was a dark spirit.”

The thing

“When I was about 8 years old I was up in Maine at my uncle’s house with my cousin and little brother, all in the same age range. The part of Maine, Stratton, is pretty secluded about 30 minutes from Canada.

We were sleeping on sleeping bags in his living room, well all of the sudden through the window of my uncle’s door, probably about 9 feet tall, but had human like anatomy, this thing was standing hunched over looking into the house.

We all screamed and it did a non-human maneuver with it’s neck and ran behind the house. The footsteps of this thing practically shook the house. My mom and uncle come running into the living room. It’s been practically 20 years and we all still talk about it like it was yesterday.”

“My friends father was a missionary in Africa. He was 16 and learning how to shave his face. 3 weeks went by and he woke up one morning with his throat extremely swollen. Flew him to the nearest hospital where the trauma surgeon took a scalpel…nicked my friends throat… and out spewed 100’s of tiny spiders….”

“Was working midnights at a gas station. A couple came in trying to get behind the register. They went outside and left. I went in the bathroom and called the police. Who came as they were coming back in. They had bags, knives, a gun, rope, and various other weapons in the trunk. I don’t think they planned on me living. I was hiding in the bathroom when they were trying to come back in.”

“My pappy(grandfather) found a life size doll hanging by a rope around its neck, in a tree/wooded area on the way home one day. He said it looked like somebody hung it up there and was using it for shooting practice or something.

My mom was still a child so the jokester he is, brought it home for her and my Aunt. Well they actually liked the thing and cleaned it up and played with it. My grandmother says till this day the scariest things started to happen around their house.

ONE example: It was nighttime and her and my pappy were in bed sleeping. Well she said she woke up to the blanket making her feel strangled. And it was almost like someone crawled into their bed and laid in between them. She sat up, startled and that’s when their bed started to shake and dressers shaking also. But nothing on the dressers moved or fell. It got to the point she was so freaked out and fed up with all the spooky things going on in their house, she made my pappy get rid of it.

So he was good friends with the owner of a bar who was more than happy to take it off his hands. As he thought it would be a good conversational piece. Exactly one week later the man who the doll was given to died. Mind you he had perfect health.”

Final wishes

“On and episode of Beyond Belief like 7 years ago, I saw a true story about a step daughter who died She hated her step mother. And in death, they were both put in the same mausoleum. Every morning, the stone carcophagus’ were cracked and there was writing on the walls in blood begging for her to be away from the step mother even though the mausoleum was sealed every night… Still gives me chills to think about it.”

“This happened to me… I saw the ghost of a little boy run in front of my car and I almost crashed. That’s not the scary part tho. When I told my mom about it and where it happened, she told me of a dream she had when she was pregnant with me where she hit a little boy with her car on the same road at the same spot and when she got out to check on the boy, she said it was me.”

“My husband and I had just moved into a new house in a new state with our then 3 year old. Naturally I needed to go food shopping for pretty much everything. It was dark by the time I arrived home and I could see, upstairs, in what is now our bedroom, (no curtains/blinds yet), what I was sure was my husband standing in the window. The light was on so it was pretty easy to see that he was standing there. I clearly needed help unloading so I went straight inside and upstairs only to find no one was up there. Came back down to find him on the other side of the house completely immersed in a video game, clearly had been there the whole time but I asked anyways and yup, hasn’t been upstairs since I left. Gave me the chills at the time, but more so after meeting our new neighbor who informed us the previous owner committed suicide inside our house. It was her (our neighbor’s) own late husband that discovered the body. Lots more stories, creepy but harmless, we still live in the house and have learned to coexist.”

Facebooking from beyond

“My friend’s friend died and a few days later the deceased was commenting on people’s fb post. People were spooked, angry, and confused. What it came down to was that it might have been something with his phone. He might have commented, loss service, passed away, phone was moved to a location with service, and then it posted. Still shocking.”

Grandma

“One night I hear my 6 yr old daughter talking to someone in her room. She was by herself. I asked her who she was talking to and she said “grandma ermmie”. Grandma Erma (only 2 people called her ermmie) died when she was 1. She never met her in person.”

Santa

“One Christmas, me and my son were at my parents house celebrating. It was getting late, i told my son, who was about five at the time, let’s get home and get you to bed before Santa goes to our house and has to leave because you’re not asleep. We get home, I’m getting our bags out of the car and my son says, mama!! Shhhh…Santa is in our house! My blood froze, our front curtains were open to show off our tree, so i asked what did you see? He said, Santa peeking at us in the window. I’m crapping my pants, i took him to my neighbors, and told them to call the cops if I’m not back in five minutes. The doors and windows were all locked and no sign of anybody in the house. I was scared all night.”

The dream

“One night I had a dream/nightmare? I was in a war. I went around the corner cause I was running from something. Came around the corner to see a gun pointed at my chest. It shot. With my left hand (this is important) I touched the wound and pulled my fingers away. There was blood on my 3 middle fingers to about the first knuckle line. I woke up in a dead sweat, calmed myself down it was only a dream, and went back to sleep. When I woke up however. I noticed there was something on my hand. My left hand. There was dried blood on my 3 middle fingers only down to the first knuckle. Of course I freaked out and immediately went to the full body mirror in the house. There wasn’t any other place that had dried blood.”

Trapped

“When I stayed at my grandparents house I was laying in bed and something came running down the hall. Everyone was asleep and the dogs were in the garage but whatever it was jumped on my bed, and since I had my head covered I never saw it, but it trapped me under my covers and I screamed and cried until I fell asleep.

I still have nightmares about it and that was close to 10+years ago.”
