2 confessions, a supportive network and many surgeries

Episode 2 opens with the group of friends uses Lee Ikjun’s card (that he left with Gyeoul) and takes advantage as much as possible. Ikjun sees the transactions via his phone and panics in shock, rushes into work. He still thinks its only Gyeoul spending using his CC but includes the rest of his friends. Faking a phonecall too inside the elevator. Never leave your card with others — even if it’s your friends, hehe.

Jeongwon love confession & deals with a difficult young patient

The friends having a night of chitchat while Jeongwon was having a difficulty inserting himself into the conversation because he wants to tell his friends some news, but the friends kept talking about Songhwa’s famous VIP patient. Then after Songhwa talks, that’s the only time the friends noticed that Jeongwon isn’t talking. Honestly, let the man have his moment! Even if you’re friends, he clearly was annoyed. He confessed that he is seeing Gyeoul but Ikjun was not taking it seriously. Finally, the group was for a moment left speechless with mouths open. Junwan asked if Gyeoul was the reason why he didnt leave for priesthood and answered that it was one of his biggest reasons. I guess his friends should be thankful for her then and i’m glad Songhwa was the first to say that she supports him. Ikjun followed suit. Seokyung raised his hand and said that he knew because his mother told him last week. HAHA! Jeongwon was surprised that he was discreet. He told him that his mother likely told his mother. Songhwa being a good supportive friend told Jeongwon that she promises to keep it as a secret. She’s a good person.

The dynamic on how they reacted to Jeongwon’s confession was interesting.

Junwan was curious, Songhwa was supportive, Ikjun made light jokes and Seokhyeong made a confession about his discreetness. Goes to show that they all have different personalities but it is what makes the 5 friends dynamic when they are together.

Dr. Ahn, has to deal with a child (Seongwon) who will not let him treat the surgery staples on his back. He advises the mother to calm him down and come back. When the kid comes back, it’s the same problem all over and the mother loses her patience. I dont even know how Jeongwon deals with children like these, even me as a viewer i already got annoyed.

1st surgery

Its nice that we get to see a continuation Seokhyeong and Minha continue to work from the previous complicated pregnant woman for a emergency surgery.

The patient Kim Sujeong, Seokhyeong and Minha are anxious about the patient Kim Sujeong with her upcoming emergency surgery. They warn the patient that she may need to have the surgery if the cervix dilates. Seokhyeong mentions to Minha to keep monitoring the patient.

There’s a sudden emergency — Kim Sujeong’s baby is now external from the mother, meaning both feet and cord are out. That’s terrible! She rings Seokhyeong and reports to him. He instructs her to get ready and call pediatricts. More terrible news, the baby does not survive. Im totally crushed for the mother. This is so sad. Seokhyeong tells parents that they tried CPR on the baby for 30 minutes and they did the best they could. He then gave the best advice for the patient and it’s to recover. Yang Seokhyeong is at a loss for words and does not know how to comfort the mother that has lost her baby.

Yang Seokhyeong is also in a terrible state because he couldn’t save the baby, he commented to Ikjun on how rare the result of the complication was but admired the patient for their strength. Although he feels for the patient, he was at loss for his words & is struggling on how to comfort the mother.

Later, Kim Sujeong the patient drops off flowers and a appreciation card for Seokhyeong — She doesn’t want him to be sorry and appreciates the heartbeat she felt from her baby. They were the last moments the parents experienced while the baby was alive. I feel like crying at that moment!

Sometimes you just have to feel bad for the parent having complicated pregnancy. For me its one of the most emotional and heartbreaking things to deal with. But i love the relationship Seokhyeong has with his patients and vice versa. We didnt get to see alot of him as a doctor during S1 but now we get to see that he is a good doctor who supports his patients and does his best.

2nd surgery

Junwan delivers bad news to Minchan who needs a heart transplant and VAD. He tells the mother that VAD will hold out until they find a transplant and work out costs.

Junwan performs a successful surgery.

3rd surgery +VIP surgery & a TV appearance invitation

Songhwa takes on a client with a deep tumor that needs surgery.

VIP client: Yoo Gyeongjin — a famous violinist

Songhwa is busy! As mentioned during the dinner table with friends, she wants to keep on doing VIP surgeries because it gives her more opportunities to further her career and to take care of more surgeries.

Songhwa is assigned to patient Yoo Gyeongjin that needs surgery, and she breaks down to the young woman what she needs due to the tumor at the front of her brain.

The tumor is buried deep, although Songhwa ensures Yoo Gyeongjin that she is in good hands.

The mother raises how she knows the hospital director, kept complaining about how much she donated to the hospital and that she’d like to speak to Professor Songhwa not knowing that she is speaking directly to her.  She mistaken her for a resident because she looks so young. She immediately defends her team and clearly states that residents are neurosurgeons too.

Songhwa performs the surgery with her team and with difficulty but ended up being successful. As expected by Professor Songhwa. The patient and co were grateful for the result of the surgery.

A German tv wants to interview Professor Songhwa for her recent surgery because of her famous VIP client, she declined because it’s not only her doing but it’s a team effort.

I love how we get to see Songhwa’s personality more on S2. As a supportive friend and team leader.

Songhwa took her time to enjoy coffee and a well deserved one too!

1st irresponsible patient

Lee Ikjun deals with a patient abusing his new liver, Ikjun notices his numbers are up and the patient has been lying infront of his own doctor.

He’s had a liver transplant and Ikjun wonders why his friends are taking him out drinking if they knew that he had a transplant. The wife is so annoyed and told Ikun that he drank 5 days straight within last week alone. The couple started arguing infront of Ikjun and he was left disappointed.

He reminds the patient that many people die from liver damage and do not get the opportunity he has. He insists he will not treat him again and that makes the patient think his harming ways.

Seokhyeong deals with his ex-wife

Yang Seok-hyeong tells his ex-wife that they should put their relationship behind them

We return to the moment Yang Seok-hyeong’s ex-wife asks if they can have more dinners together. He tells her that he feels bad when he sees her, and it makes him feel uncomfortable. He believes they should put their relationship behind them and move on. She accepts what he is saying, and there’s a small sadness emanating between them.

The Six Kingdoms of The Treaty of Reviel.

The Boyz Modern Royalty Au.

A/N: Hi! This is my first addition to my modern royalty au for The Boyz. I thought it would be fun to take all this aspects of most royalty au’s and place in the modern time frame. I love world building so I’ve started with establishing the different kingdoms and some of the history behind these kingdoms. I’ll be adding more to it soon but for now enjoy! also excuse the blurry photo

The First Kingdom, Venthia

A massive kingdom with a very long and rich history. The eldest Kingdom within the treaty. The people here are very proud of their long history and hold to the traditions that built this great land to what it is today.

The Royal Family:

The Late King Lee Geonsoo and his wife, Queen Park Joosil.  The eldest son and soon to be king, Crown Prince Lee Sangyeon. (story) The youngest daughter, Princess Lee Soorin

Kingdom Capital: Hirayne

Royal Home(s): The West Levans Castle, Home to the Royal Family of Vasiltia

Royal Colors: Red, White, Gold

Government: Absolute Monarchy

The Second Kingdom, Criston

The youngest kingdom set along the Lusivan Coast that was originally split from the lands of Venthia. The Original Reviel Treaty was between these two kingdoms, which established Criston’s Lands and ceased fighting between the two kingdoms hundreds of years ago.

The Royal Family:

The King Bae JeongTae and his wife, Queen Moon Hyein. The eldest son, The Late Prince Bae TaekJo and his wife, Princess Kim Yesol. Their son, Crown Prince Jacob Bae. The Third Kingdom, Adraekar

A kingdom most known for their strong and solid military. When it comes to protecting the kingdoms within the treaty is left to Adreakareian Forces and they excel at it. All males in the royal family must go through training as it is seen as a right of passage.

The Royal Family:

The King Lee JeongJin and his wife, Queen Sohn Jiseong. Their eldest son, Crown Prince Lee Hyunjae.  Their youngest son, Prince Sohn Youngjae, fondly known as Eric. The King’s sister, Princess Lee Choongmin (unwed) Her child, Prince Lee Juyeon.

Kingdom Capital: East Winston

Royal Home(s):  The Lambridge Palace, Home to the Royal Family of Adraekar, The Cantlyn Mannor, Home to the Princess of Adraekar and Family.

Royal colors: Red, Navy Blue, Silver

The Fourth Kingdom, Praedor

A smaller kingdom but what it lacks in size it makes up in wealth and technological advancements. The Royal family is very loved by the people and they love to get a look at the princes. Especially the troublesome twin princes.

The Queen Regnant Kim Yeongja and her husband, Prince Consort Choi JiSeok. Their eldest son, Crown Prince Kim Younghoon. Their youngest twin sons, Prince Choi Chanee and Prince Ji Changmin.

Royal Colors: Green, Burgundy, Silver

The Fifth Kingdom, Enazar

The kingdom that sits at the base of a mountain while the royal castle sits above it. The Kingdom has experienced much darkness since the lost of the Late King Kim Kyusoo. But Enrazian prophecy sees light returning to the kingdom but not without turmoil.

The Royal Family:

The Queen Regent Kang Seungyeon and her second husband, Prince Consort Kim Donghwan. The eldest, son of the Late King Kim Kyusoo, Crown Prince Kim Sunwoo. The youngest, daughter of Prince Consort Kim Donghwan, Princess Kim Sunhwa.

Kingdom Capital: Yuterra

Royal Home(s): The Royal Castle Eryas, Home to the Royal Family of Enazar.

Royal Colors: Black, Yellow, Gold

Government: Absolute Monarchy

The Sixth Kingdom, Kridora

The secluded kingdom, set on an archipelago in the Luvisan Sea, east of Criston, was the last to be written into the treaty. Venthia provoked war and to cease the fighting, they were added to it. Conditions were that Venthia would retreat but Kridora would have to open its borders to the other five kingdoms. There is much to learn about this secretive kingdom.

The King Ju Yoonseok and his wife, Queen Li Xiu. Their only son, Crown Prince Ju Hakyeon.

Die Pandemie hat unser Gefühl dafür, was ́normal ́ ist ins Chaos gestürzt. Ausdrücke wie virtuelles Treffen, physische Distanzierung, Abriegelung, Infektion, Corona-Impfung und Quarantäne sind Teil unseres Alltags- vokabulars geworden. Neben dem Umgang mit den Umständen dieser 'neuen Normalität' wurden wir noch nie zuvor so genau beobachtet, exzessive Überwachungsmaschinen verfolgen unsere Bewegungen. Die Pandemie hat unser Denken und Verhalten verändert, aber egal wie sehr uns das Coronavirus unter Druck setzt, kreative Köpfe sehen die Krise als Chance für einen Reset. Vielleicht könnte das Schreiben eines Briefes an uns selbst eine der Methoden sein.

Raus aus dem White Cube

Immer wieder wird kritisiert, dass zeitgenössische Kunst kompliziert, esoterisch und für die Öffentlichkeit nicht zugänglich ist. Um die Kunst zu sehen, muss man sich in den weißen und sauberen Raum einer Galerie begeben, der normalerweise nur wenigen ausgewählten Künstlern gewidmet ist. Seit Beginn der Pandemie zeigen die traditionellen Ausstellungen mit weißen Wänden mehr denn je ihre Grenzen auf. Während wir nicht vorhersagen können, wie lange die Krise andauern wird, sollten wir diese Zeit als Katalysator nutzen, um die Funktionen der Kunst und ihre Präsentation neu zu überdenken.

Verwandlung der Plakatwand in ein Straßenmuseum

Marketing versucht, unsere intellektuellen Prozesse, Überzeugungen, Wünsche und Absichten zu formen. Digitale und analoge Taktiken tun dies so gründlich, dass Werbung in alle Aspekte unseres Lebens einsi- ckert. Aber diese Werbewelle ist kein neues Phänomen. Seit den frühen 1900er-Jahren wurden Plakatwände zu einer weitverbreiteten Werbemethode und haben in der Folge die Straßen gefüllt und die Straßen auf der ganzen Welt gesäumt.

Was würde passieren, wenn Künstler diese Plakatwände übernehmen würden?

Durch die Präsentation von Kunstwerken auf Plakatwänden könnten sie eine weitaus größere Aufmerksam- keit erlangen und ein breiteres Publikum erreichen, einschließlich derjenigen, die normalerweise keine Aus- stellungen besuchen oder mit Kunstwerken interagieren würden. Die Plakatwand, die ein Spielball des kommerziellen Sektors ist, kann einen neuen Horizont eröffnen, der als öffentliches Gut dient. Die Methode der Kehrseite kann ein Tor zu einer hoch kommunikativen Praxis für die breite Öffentlichkeit bieten, ohne in den Kunstraum gezwungen zu werden.

DISKURS Berlin präsentiert die Billboard-Ausstellung LETTER mit den koreanischen Künstlern Yeondoo Jung, Kira Kim, Young-jun Tak und Seongwon Won vom 29.3. ~ 7.5.2021 an der Plakatwand des histori- schen Ortes Elsenbrücke.

Yeondoo Jung ist Absolvent des Goldsmiths College in London und wird eine Fotoarbeit BEWITCHED #2 aus seiner Bewitched-Serie zeigen, die von der amerikanischen TV-Sitcom Bewitched inspiriert ist. Jung por- trätiert in BEWITCHED #2 Träume, Vorstellungskraft, Kämpfe und den Wunsch, dem realen Leben zu ent- kommen, in seiner Arbeit.

Die Fotografie mit dem Titel IN THE BLINK OF PREJUDICE von Young-jun Tak untersucht und hinterfragt (Miss-)Glauben und (Miss-)Vorstellungen, die durch unsere Alltagspolitik, soziale Normen und Genderfragen strukturiert sind. Seine Arbeiten wurden auf der 11. Berlin Biennale 2020 und der 15. Istanbul Biennale 2017 gezeigt.

Won Seoung Won, die 2005 ihren M.F.A. in Medienkunst an der Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln erhielt, ist dafür bekannt, ihre Erzählungen in fotografische Landschaften zu verwandeln. Auf den ersten Blick kön- nte Won Seoung Won ́s THE SEA OF JOURNALISTS in der realen Welt existieren. Doch auf den zweiten Blick spiegeln und entfalten sich in einer unendlichen Anzahl von unterschiedlichen Fotografien, die Won aufgenommen hat, imaginäre Räume, Symbole und Träume.

Another day, another target, and this time it's @disastersteps and their marvelous Anita Lee. Paired with my villainously competent, but emotionally disastrous Seongwon. (Now with accompanying art.) Somewhere in the Sidestepverse:

Anita stops halfway through their explanation, sparing a glance at Seongwon sprawled across the mats, arms folded over her chest. “Are you even listening?”

“I am.” She answers simply. “I'm just not following all of it. You know engineering isn't my area of expertise.”

“Why do you ask if you won't understand it?” They scoff, shifting the mechanism to their right hand. Feeling across the floor around them, fingers ghosting over tools strewn about, Anita can't find what they're looking for.

Seongwon tilts her head to look at them. “Isn't it obvious?”

Anita bites back the urge to say no, it's not. It never is with her. Instead, they say, “Have you seen the precision phillip's head?”

“Here,” she says.

“Thank y-” They turn their head to find Seongwon inches from their face. Then her lips are on theirs, soft and tentative. They've never known her to be so unsure in her actions.

Anita blinks and the Seongwon’s gone, lying back on the mats before Anita, her hand extended out to them. The screwdriver in hand. They could swear she's blushing.

“Thanks.” They feel their own cheeks flush, unsure if they're thanking her for the screwdriver or sharing her thoughts.

Drug delivery system: Injections or light irradiation?

A new concept of on-demand drug delivery system has emerged in which the drugs are automatically released from in vivo medical devices simply by shining light on the skin.

A research team led by Professor Sei Kwang Hahn of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Professor Kilwon Cho of the Department of Chemical Engineering at POSTECH have together developed an on-demand drug delivery system (DDS) using an organic photovoltaic cell coated with upconversion nanoparticles. This newly developed DDS allows nanoparticles to convert skin-penetrating near-infrared (NIR) light into visible light so that drug release can be controlled in medical devices installed in the body. These research findings were published in Nano Energy on March 1, 2021.

For patients who need periodic drug injections as in the case of diabetes, DDSs that automatically administer drugs in lieu of repetitive shots are being researched and developed. However, its size and shape have been restricted due to limitations in power supply for operating such a device.

The research team found the answer in solar power. Upconversion nanoparticles were used for the photovoltaic device to induce photovoltaic power generation with NIR light that can penetrate the skin. An organic photovoltaic cell coated with a core-shell structured upconversion nanoparticles was designed to operate a drug delivery system made of a mechanical and electronic system by generating an electric current upon irradiation of NIR light. When electricity is applied in this manner, the thin gold film sealing the drug reservoir melts and the drug is released.

"The combination of a flexible photovoltaic cell and a drug delivery system enables on-demand drug release using light," explained Professor Sei Kwang Hahn. "The drug delivery system is activated using near-infrared light that is harmless to the human body and is highly skin-penetrating."

He added, "Since this enables nimble control of drug release of medical devices inserted into the body by using near-infrared light, it is highly anticipated to contribute to the development of phototherapy technology using implantable medical devices."
