According to sources in and out of the U.S. government familiar with Fenzel’s reports and advocacy, nearly every claim presented by the USSC as fact seems to have been lifted directly, sometimes verbatim, from the websites of highly partisan pro-Palestinian organizations, including the United Nations’ Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OCHA) and the far-left Israeli NGO B’Tselem, which accuses Israel of apartheid and receives vast support from European governments and from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations.
In the past 12 months, 13 Israelis were murdered by Palestinians in Jerusalem and 17 in the West Bank—not counting those slaughtered on Oct. 7, 2023—while doing nothing more provocative than driving home or stopping for gas. The number of Palestinian civilians who have been killed by Israelis under such conditions over the same time period is zero.
But the story the administration has been telling anyone who will listen is very different. By scrubbing any mention of the daily violence directed by Palestinian terror operatives against Jewish civilians living in the West Bank from his reports, Fenzel has eliminated the clear retaliatory motive for the vast majority of attacks by Israelis against West Bank Palestinians. Thinly laundered reports from expressly anti-Israel organizations, designed to support an illusion of innocent Palestinians being violently attacked by bloodthirsty Israelis, paint a picture of an Israeli equivalent to the Palestinian atrocities of Oct. 7, lending itself an easy “both-sides” posture meant to ease the way to creating a new Palestinian state in both the West Bank and Gaza. With an executive order now in place, the Biden administration has all the tools it needs to crack down on any form of Jewish life in Judea and Samaria, and on anyone, in Israel or stateside, who supports it.

yeah yeah vote for blue no matter who and all that. i'm on board. but we CANNOT stop there. we can't keep electing the lesser evil when every term the "lesser" evil gets more evil. idk what the fuck to do about it but i know it needs to stop
#yeah whatever fine ill vote for biden if thats who ends up against trump#but it would be nice if there was ever an option i could actually feel good about voting for#it seems like we keep drifting further from 'settle for biden' into 'vote for biden hes the last hope for democracy'

I’m sorry but if there is one thing the Tumblr left needs crucially, it’s the ability to celebrate.
I remember when marriage equality was called and there were waves of rainbows and love wins posts. When we successfully defeated Donald Trump, there was lukewarm relief, a reminder that you were only allowed one or maybe two days to celebrate and then it was back to work. That is if you were even a good person for voting Biden. We never did settle if he was better than Trump. (We did.). We didn’t celebrate student loan debt relief or any of the accomplishments of the Biden administration, or any of the times Trump was blocked, or other countries succeeding in keeping fascists out of office. Who cares if we had successes? It’s not good enough. Back to work!
And this anti-celebratory attitude stretches back to the past. On the 100th anniversary of female suffrage in America, we were reminded that not all women had the vote and so we weren’t allowed to celebrate. The only post I saw about Juneteenth was reminding us that there were enslaved people who were killed instead of freed and therefore celebrating the end of chattel slavery was wrong, and besides, we have prison labor so nothing really changed or got better and there’s nothing to celebrate anyway. Trans Day of Visibility comes with Trans Day of Remembrance so that people don’t fill the tags with hate crimes and death. So on and so forth. Nothing gets better. Nothing changes. Back to work!
So of course when we have a major setback, we fall apart and have to start frantic damage control. Frantic discourse ensues over how much people are allowed to unplug before it becomes bad and selfish. Yes, maybe you can have this one day off Mr. Cratchit but you better be here and miserable early the next morning. Like abusive bosses always insisting you squeeze out more, more, more, and any achievement is just proof you were lazy the other times and impetus for more work.
If we are never allowed to acknowledge any of our victories, how are we supposed to survive our defeats?
#politics#us politics#I’ve kind of had this sitting in my head for a while#like if we were allowed to be happy maybe we would have fought harder to keep it

hoooo. okay. i feel better knowing she's crossed the threshold there w the delegates
#i feel like.#while in a perfect world a primary redux of some kind would've been nice. there just is not time#and the idea of introducing a potentially divisive contest at this particular juncture makes me want to dissolve in fear & dread#so to see this much of a unified front is a relief#and again like. i do feel like people will be more enthusiastic about harris than biden - & broadly we're seeing that already#which is heartening in itself#it feels good to have things a little more settled. all the what ifs and conjectures were driving me bonkers in the yonkers#ALSO. relatedly. i don't get the people insinuating her nomination would be some kind of coronation#dems already had voted for biden with harris on the ticket knowing full well if biden kicked it or quit midterm she'd be president#and to be blunt bidens age being what it is that scenario was never looked at as Completely Unrealistic or Impossibly Unlikely#so in that sense anybody who voted for biden has already voted for her#kind of stupid to pitch a fit like that's not the case

Truly there are no communists in foxholes.
#i didnt even mention all the polling data saying that 70% of democrat voters didnt want biden to run this cycle#but the party forced him through as a candidate functionally unopposed in the primaries despite the fact that people were running#if they care about your fucking vote then why is it that they ignore your voice?#i said it before but why do i have to SETTLE for biden over trump? why cant biden get me excited to vote for him?#he can make promises without keeping them. thats all he has to do.#and he isnt#because he has nothing to promise#he doesnt even want to pretend to promise things like a public option#he hates these things and he hates you#whatever. im done.

Really sucks that we have to vote a corpse into office but I would rather have a corpse than a fascist who will do every evil under the sun and unwind global politics as we know it.
#i would love it if we could get someone out there who ISNT biden#but unless he drops out and props up someone else RIGHT NOW i highly doubt we are gonna get anyone else#dont vote? well thats one more vote on trumps side that counts. vote 3rd party? may as well throw ur vote straight into the garbage#bc we just do not have a system in place for any other party. we need ranked choice voting so fucking bad#just. wheel the corpse back into office. give us a little bit longer to keep laying groundwork.#put more left leaning ppl into power. secure the next seats availible for people who are more and more left#the ONE thing republicans have over us is that they continuously settle for a few inches. then they keep the few inches and take more when#they can. whereas SO many people on the left have this attitude of “well hes not the ideal/perfect leftist so FUCK THIS GUY”#which on some levels are very very understandable. but. you also gotta realize that our opponents are playing a very different game#they have GOALS and will patiently claw back any ground they can. they are good at mobilizing.#and that is Not Good.

I am so sick of strategic voting shite. Have a consistent ideology and follow it! Stop being bullied into voting for people who don’t represent your values.
#you’re never gonna be able to push Keir starmer or fucking Biden left#be the fucking change you want to see instead of settling

listen, i hate how biden has responded to the crisis in gaza as much as the next person, but for i cant bear the idea of withholding my vote in the upcoming election… trump just said in the debate that we should “let israel finish the job”
how HORRIFIC. how DISGUSTING. i get that voting for biden feels like we are settling, but the alternative is just so much worse

vote third party or not at all I'm so serious. you owe it to yourself and to everyone to not settle for republican or republican blue edition
#watched fantanos reaction to macklemores Palestine track and he responds to macs “im not gonna vote for biden” line with a long ass#lesser of two evils tangent#im just so sick of that narrative#it is not radical to settle#we are dealing with a growing facist police state#there is no reason to place any faith in the powers that be#not that there ever was ofc#but this is the most transparent election in my lifetime#that clearly displays how pointless the whole process even is#i felt sick enough voting for biden in 2020

Trump is your worst boss ever.

Democrats deliver!
You would never want Trump/MAGA anywhere near labor talks.
Trump would never help labor. Never has. He stiffs all his workers and refuses to pay overtime.

Some Senate Democrats have been willing to vote for Donald Trump’s less outlandish Cabinet nominees, but Pam Bondi’s nomination for U.S. attorney general was a qualitatively different kind of case. The Florida Republican is a scandal-plagued election denier and former lobbyist for foreign governments, who, even during her confirmation hearing, refused to acknowledge the legitimacy of Joe Biden’s 2020 victory.
Members of the Senate’s GOP majority were eager to confirm Bondi anyway, but there was no way that Democrats were going to go along with such a scheme. When the dust settled, the final tally was 54-46, with every member of the Democratic minority opposed to her nomination — with one exception.
Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania voted with Republicans.
