Every year for the month of October I make a movie calander- one horror movie a day, every day, for the entire month. My problem now, is that after three years of doing this- I'm starting to..... well, run out isn't the right way to put it... but it's starting to feel like I've seen most of the big hitters.

So the question I'm throwing out there is:

Fans of horror, what movies would you reccomend for this year's October watch?

I'm looking for anything and everything. I will watch silent black and white films. I read subtitles and I'm not opposed to hunting down a niche foreign horror/thriller. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE SPOILERS I would like to go into the movies blind (trigger warnings are very welcome, though)

i know this will only get worse as we get closer to the 2024 election cycle, but

i need people to stop acting like americans brought trump upon themselves. like we ended up with him because we refused to do our "civic duty." people did come out and vote in droves. they voted despite voter disenfranchisement, despite gerrymandering, despite long hours in line.

trump lost the popular vote. please get this through your fucking head. he lost. the popular. vote.

we were saddled with trump because of how our system is setup. not because we didn't vote. quit using this as a "gotcha" to try and shame people into voting, because as i said before: people fucking voted.

Hello everyone,

I was able to stave off using this for a couple of months, but I'm at the point again, I have no choice. I am still unemployed (9 months now) with no way of income except this GFM and selling my pop culture collection on Ebay and, unfortunately, I am now running out of things to sell there.

I was able to pay my rent and bills this past week, but that leaves me with nothing for the rest of the month. I cannot afford food, nor any of the medications I need for my congenital intestinal disorder and other health issues I have.

If you can help me, I would greatly appreciate anything you can do to aid me. I have no other recourse at the moment. I am sorry again for asking. Thank you for everything; you've helped me survive this past year and I would not be here without you.

I’ve never been a real star wars fan but the phantom menace came out when I was 6 and my older brother was 8 so we were absolutely among the target audience and we had toy light sabers & we spent a lot of time playing star wars but my brothers were anakin and obi wan etc. and my best friend was padmé which meant i had to come up with a star wars oc and since my brother was anakin i decided okay. i would be anakin’s sister.

i made up a backstory that i was his twin sister who also lived on tatooine and i also had latent force potential but qui gon and obi wan didn’t even try to meet me even when anakin mentioned me and they left me behind.

this was an utter betrayal to me obviously, like my brother got rescued and i got abandoned and i could have been him and i should have been him. i should’ve been at his side. i should have gotten training and all else. i should have been a jedi too.

but they didn’t even care to meet me. so i had this intense grudge against the jedi and i ended up developing my skills myself and then i grew up and got myself off tattooine and set out on a mission as a rogue force user to kill obi wan.

and 6 year old me really embodied that role. she felt that. so when I was like 25 & rewatched the original star wars trilogy for the first time since childhood, when obi wan came on I was like ugh. I hate that guy. and my friend was like “WHY?”

and I thought about it and realized it wasn’t actually his character. I was remembering my childhood self insert oc beef.

Like, sorry you wouldn’t get it but obi wan and I have history.

i feel like no one really wants to hear that sleep/exercise/nutrition/hydration are major factors in treating mental health issues bc we’ve all talked to that person who thinks your depression would be cured by one good session of goat yoga or whatever but unfortunately they do help and i’m chronically annoyed about it

i spent $32 on this fucking bowl at the moma and at first i felt bad buying it bc it was so expensive but ive had a terrible day today and every time i look at my lil bowl im like :o) you know what. i can get through anything with this bowl by my side

You know what really fucking Annoys Me about internet censorship is stuff like swear words being heavily censored because that's entirely an American cultural hangup being forced on the rest of us. I don't know a single country where swearing is as taboo as it is in America. In fact most languages have swear words that would have the same effect on an American as giving a Victorian chimney sweep a pepsi max cherry.
