US immigration advocates file major lawsuit challenging weaponization of the nation’s immigration court system

La prospective «à la française» ? C’est à la fois une anticipation «au plus proche des réalités» et l’idée que le futur n’est pas prédéterminé, mais reste à construire. Et que «les évolutions en cours laissent place à une pluralité d’avenir possibles». Et que, donc, l’espèce humaine dispose d’une part de liberté, pour un futur «souhaitable». Voilà en quelques mots ce qui ressort de ce livre, fruit d’un colloque de la Société française de prospective (SFdP) en 2017 à Reims. 
Ce livre fait d’abord le constat que l’humanité doit aujourd’hui négocier un difficile «virage du temps». Et que les deux ou trois décennies à venir seront décisives. Notre espèce va devoir faire face à des «ruptures radicales». À des «épreuves redoutables». «Elle va être très secouée». Et devoir se transformer «profondément». Ce sera - prévoit le livre - un véritable basculement, «irréversible», dans «un autre monde». Basculement qui, d’ailleurs, «s’accélère», mais dont les prémices étaient perceptibles depuis déjà plusieurs siècles, même si la source principale de ce basculement se situe dans les ruptures survenues autour de la seconde guerre mondiale. L’humanité - explique le livre - s’approche d’une période qui peut conduire soit à une forme de renaissance, soit à une régression, voire à un effondrement. À une «implosion chaotique». Le livre n’exclut pas, en effet, la possibilité d’une «combinaison de catastrophes, financières, écologiques, sociales, politiques, qui finissent par déboucher sur l’emballement des pulsions mortifères et, in fine, sur des logiques de guerre». < La ligne de pensée libérale nous a mis sur des bases non soutenables du point de vue écologique, économique ou social, voire philosophique >, estime le livre. < Nos sociétés pourraient mourir d’une incapacité endogène à penser le futur de façon partagée. > Pour échapper à de tels scénarios catastrophes, l’humanité doit réagir au plus vite - et «il est encore temps». Le livre recommande, en particulier, d’envisager «sérieusement une forme de décroissance». Il faudrait, poursuit-il, «remettre en cause les formes de production et de consommation excessivement destructrices des ressources naturelles, de l’environnement et de la biodiversité». Et «inventer un modèle prenant en compte les ressources qui ne s’expriment pas par des flux monétaires». Le livre préconise, d’une façon générale, la fondation d’une vision du monde «alternative à celle de l’utilitarisme et de la rationalité instrumentale». Ce sont donc des «façons inédites d’habiter la planète» qu’il faudrait imaginer, ajoute le livre, qui propose de «recréer notre imaginaire et les fondamentaux sur lesquels nos esprits se sont construits». L’être humain devra «apprendre à vivre en harmonie avec la nature et avec l’Autre». Le livre insiste aussi tout particulièrement sur la nécessité - pour «faciliter» toutes ces «inévitables» transformations à venir - de réinventer l’éducation et de remettre en cause, par ailleurs, le système existant de recherche scientifique et d’innovation technique «inféodé aux forces dominantes». Bref, en seulement quelques décennies, l’humanité va devoir «se métamorphoser». Et d’aller vers un monde dont deux des valeurs principales devront être l’empathie («plutôt que la concurrence») et l’altruisme.

LES AUTEURS : ils sont une quinzaine, notamment sociologues, économistes ou philosophes de formation, la plupart membres de la Société française de prospective. LA CITATION : Les religions traditionnelles seront inéluctablement dépassées par des formes de spiritualité adaptées à l’anthropocène (NDLR : c’est-à-dire la période actuelle où, selon des scientifiques, l'activité humaine est devenue la contrainte géologique dominante). Des valeurs cardinales de protection et de célébration de la nature et du vivant vont nécessairement apparaître.
