there were a lot of things hyunjae could have done except stay outside of campus grounds, just staring at the scene before him with someone he barely even knew—or, to be honest, the older was a complete stranger to him until today. hyunjae doesn’t like backing down and leaving when he knew he was right, though, so there he remained, under the heat watching a puppy intently.

recalling what happened before the pair started hiding in the bush, hyunjae could only snort. he noticed a puppy with a collar around its neck, seemingly lost. two individuals were approaching the puppy, either of them could possibly be the owners, but hyunjae was leaning towards the girl with a paw-printed sweater. his current companion—chan, he remembered the name—said it was the boy with a shirt that came straight out of hot topic, a large bone smack in the middle of it.

of course hyunjae had to point out the older’s mistake, and of course he had to make a bet with chan, because there was no way he was wrong! nevermind that pets aren’t allowed in campus, that wasn’t what was important here!

noticing the puppy turning its head towards the girl, hyunjae smirked. “aha! it’s definitely her, see?” he was growing even more confident, seeing the puppy slowly walk over towards the girl’s general direction. “hope you’re ready to pay up.”

     dinner with an old friend ( @sgnchan ) is not a new affair. it’s a bit strange considering that he doesn’t keep in contact with many of his old partying friends but the biggest difference is that when he was still partying, he and chan had hung out without the club a few times as well. 

     so it’s not too weird. 

     okay, it’s a bit weird. but it’s not terrible. and he doesn’t mind too much, considering he knows that chan won’t make him drink if he refuses to do so, so everything is good. probably. 

     either way, they’re at dinner and hyuk’s been poring over the menu for a few minutes, trying to decide between a cola and a cider. it’s a hard decision, because he knows he usually would probably go for a beer or something when they were at chicken—there was a reason why chimaek was so popular. and he knows they sometimes used to do somaek and get drunk at the chicken place. but now he was 8 months sober and wasn’t planning on drinking anytime soon. 

     “hyung, have you decided on what you’re getting?” he asks, seeing the waiter approaching and he scrunches up his nose, trying to decide quickly as they order their usually two chickens with fries. “and a cider for me,” he adds before he can change his mind again, glancing over at the older and waiting for him to order his drink.

     there’s just something about how many times he’s been inside the lake, without wanting to be, that makes him want to exact revenge somehow. 

     honestly he knows that if he really wanted to actually exact revenge, he should go after the original culprit, the person who had made him fall into the water the first time—which would be sejun. but he knows he’s not really a match for any of his close hyungs in strength. 

     he should probably start working out. or something. 

     but, anyways, back to the original point of revenge—chan is just an easy target right now. he’s not surprised that people had brought alcohol, considering they are all legal adults and there’s practically nothing when it comes to having adult supervision around. it’s great, actually, and the fact that he’s found the older near the lake already makes the thought of revenge come again. 

      maybe he just wants to push someone into the lake. maybe it was meant to be. maybe its maybelline. 

     anyways. 

     innocently, subin leads the older male closer to the edge of the dock, trying to be as subtle as possible. considering chan is slightly inebriated, it’s a lot easier than usual to act like he’s just walking along with no real destination in mind even if he’s fully planning to push the other into the lake eventually. 

     “hyung,” he starts, frowning at the older after a long moment of silently just staring at him. “have you sobered up at all since the trip started yesterday? i swear you were tipsy the last time i saw you too!”
