Episodes in greater detail
Episode 1 - The Judge and the AfterWorld Caitrin wakes up on a White Mare, flying above a desolate unknown world.
(The White Mare is taken from the Irish form of the Afterword, called Tir na Nog, where the souls are escorted to by a White Mare)
Once the Mare lands, it leaves her and she is forced to look around. She comes across a pure black pond and a sees a lone black swan.
(The image of a small girl seeing this swan in my head, was what inspired the idea.)
The swan has a skeletal neck, and swims as Caitrin sits by the lakes' edge. Suddenly, she hears a deep voice and sees a masked man wearing a black cloak. She's scared at first, as his mask creeps her out but once his mask changes to a happier one, she isn't as scared.
(He is able to change the expressions on his mask to match his mood.)
He asks her to help judge human souls. In exchange, she would be able to return to her body. She agrees, seeing as she doesn't have much choice. Her memories of her past life were all blurry and he says that that is normal for a soul. She then questions about the swan, and he tells her that the area they were currently in was the haven for animal souls. He says that they are safe even from predator animals as they have no use for food in the world.
He then takes her to his home, which is inside a cave and she settles herself by a fire, however, she doesn't feel cold, or anything. The fire's blaze becomes a blue colour from it's normal red. At this, The Judge picks her up and takes her outside in a forested area to a woman wearing a mask. She asks where she is and The Judge tells her that she is dead, that he is to judge her. Before judging her, he lets Caitrin spend time with the woman and observes them from afar. Thinking that Caitrin may bring out the woman's true nature. Caitrin and the woman observe the black lake. The two spot the soul of a Cassowary bird and observe it, the bird spots them and chases after them. Caitrin trips and the bird was about to peck at her when the woman shields Caitrin. The Judge sees this and finally decides to chase the bird away with his angry expression mask. Athough animals have no use for food, chasing things seem to be a fun past time for them. As The Judge states.
He finally decides to delve into the woman's past. By surrounding the woman with his cloak. His masked face goes against hers as the eyes of his mask glow red. He hears arguements as soon as he's in her mind. She was in an arguement with her boyfriend, and a rather vicious one at that. She was in an abusive relationship, but she had no one else to turn to so she forced herself to stay. As a memory of her parent's graves indicate. He finds out the woman's name is Bridget.
One day, Bridget finally gets the courage to leave him, she trips when her boyfriend attacks her at the top of the stairs. Once the Judge is finished with seeing her past,  the mask around the woman's head snaps in two and they can finally see her face. The Judges' mask turns into a different mask. One not quite as creepy as his usual one. He opens his cloak and reveils a doorway. It looked peaceful and serene, with plenty of water. There were plenty of souls already smiling and happy, which brought a smile to the woman's face.
Bridget hugs Caitrin goodbye and thanks the Judge before walking through. Once he closes his cloak, The Judge looks down at Caitrin who looked a little sad to see the woman leave, but her expression then turned happy. She grabbed onto The Judges cloak and the two went back to the cave once again.
Episode 2 - The Judge and the Shadowmen The episode starts with Caitrin in the forest  area, wondering around, wary of any animals that may chase her. If she would be chased, she wondered if it would hurt if she got pecked on or bitten. As she was strolling through the forest, she found a few rabbit spirits hopping around. When they saw her, they went towards her, not scared at all. She smiled and ran around, playing with them. As she plays with them, she starts thinking about The Judge and wondering if she should give him a catchy nickname. She starts coming up with several names when she spots a middle-aged man wearing a mask. He's the next soul the Judge has to inspect. She walks up to him and shows him around. While looking, she sees a dark shadow on a tree and goes towards it, only to see it's a human-like creature. The masked man carries her away from the creature and the two are luckily saved by the Judge. He says that rarely, a soul is able to escape from the Abyss and they appear as those shadows in this realm. He stretches his arms out to either side and starts chanting a spell. Caitrin could not discern the language. His cloak opens, revealing a dark void.  As he was chanting, a blue circle had went around the ShadowMan and pulled him into the void, never to be seen again. After The Shadowman had been recaptured, The Judge turned towards the man who was standing by Caitrin. The Judge decides to judge the man and goes into his mind. The man lived a poor life, but had a heart of gold. He gives all his money away, even when he doesn't have much. After being attacked by a group of teenagers the flashback ends. The door to the Oasis opens for the man and once again, this left Caitrin sad, yet happy. As she and The Judge make their way back to the cave, Caitrin finally finds the perfect name for The Judge. His new name would be Pitch, as The Judge's cloak was pitch black.
Epsiode 3 - The Judge and his first Surprise An old masked man wakes up in the AfterWorld. He wanders around, completely confused as to what he was doing there. He grows afraid when he sees a lion, but the animal merely yawns and goes back to sleep. He sneaks past anyway and bumps into Caitrin when he got to a good distance from the lion. The girl takes him to the Judge, or Pitch as Caitrin calls him now. Pitch senses something off about the man but ignores it as he delves into the man's life. Things seem fine at first, he was nice to everyone and had a loving family, however, Pitch is shocked to see what he does behind the scenes. He takes a woman back to his house while his family are out. He asks to treat her to dinner but she declines, which infuriates the man. He takes a kitchen knife and stabs the woman to death (it's not graphic, but implied). His family comes back home and he has dinner ready. Unknowing what had just hapened hours before. This is only the first murder out of many as he quickly comes to love the thrill of murder. He lived a long life, and died content in his sleep. Pitch takes quick steps back, competely shocked and immediately opened the door to the Abyss. Instead of a void or a door to the Oasis, a world full of nothing and darkness is revealed. The murderer is sucked in, trying to grab onto anything that would carry his weight, but the pull he felt from the Abyss was too much for him and he gets sucked completely in. Caitrin stared in horror at the fate the man was sealed in. She was about to question Pitch but he quickly turned around, heading to his cave, not answering any of her confused questions.
Episode 4 - The Judge and his Dark Secret Caitrin notices that Pitch has been acting strange ever since his last judgement. He's more quiet than usual. She goes into Pitch's study, and is surprised to see another Judge, a female one. The woman Judge introduces herself as Blanche and says that she was the Judge who judged Pitch's souls when he first arrived. Blanche takes a liking to the girl but begrudgingly has to go back to her own home, to wait for her next soul to Judge. After she leaves, a young boy comes into the cave, asking where he is. Pitch is unsure of how to deal with children, so let's Caitrin deal with the boy for a while until he can think. He was still shaken up from his previous Judgement. He feels more sleepy and so he let's himself take a nap. He has flashbacks in his dream of his past and wakes to the lack of a mask on his face. He hurriedly looks up at the boy from earlier, who was standing to Pitch's side, holding his mask. The boy must have been curious about Pitch's real face, and stares at Pitch's face in horror. Caitrin hears the boy scream and comes into the room only to not see him. She asks where the boy is as Pitch puts his mask back on. He tells her that if anyone saw his face, no matter who they were, they would be sucked into the abyss. Caitrin runs out of the room, crying. He leaves her be, and he goes back to sleep.
Episode 5 - The Judge and his Past Pitch just finished his latest judge of a young girl and feels tired right after.  After each Judgement, he gains new emotions and human-like qualities, and tiredness is not something he missed. He tells Caitrin to do what she wants and goes to sleep. He dreams about his past, how boring and uninteresting it was. He remembers waking up, going to work in an office, and then goes straight home. Repeat that over and over again and that was his life. He was never close to his mother or father and didn't have any siblings. One day, as he lies in his bathroom, razor in hand, he gets a phone call from his mother. He answers and is surprised to hear her crying, he begins to tear up when he hears her apologise for not being there, but he had lost too much blood to do anything. His skin goes pale and his eyes drop closed for the last time. He wakes up in the AfterWorld, confused. A female judge delves into his past and decides to give him a second chance as a Judge, he accepts off course and he wakes up to Caitrin shaking him awake. She was a little worried as he was mumbling sadly in his sleep. He reassures her he was fine, and she leaves him alone. He starts to regret his life, but knew it was too late to change anything.
Episode 6 - The Judge and a Second Chance Pitch was called to a meeting for the Judges, and has to take Caitrin along with him. She looks around at all the other judges and is surprised to see other human souls in her same predicament. During the meeting, some of the Elder Judges were complaining about the lack of Judges, and that new ones are needed. Back at Pitch's home, a new soul was waiting for them. A young man. Pitch looks into his mind right away. The man lived a life of crime. He did bad things but wasn't considered a bad person to many. He finds himself in the Afterworld after hearing  a gunshot. Pitch realises that the man died before he could fulfill his dreams and asks him if he would like to become a Judge. The man agrees and remembers his name was Ryan. Pitch chants a sacred spell, in the same language as the chant when he sealed away the Shadowman. While he was saying the chant, the flame inside his home glows from red to a purple. Some of the flame goes around Ryan. He feels warm but not hot as he expected from the fire. When the flames die away, Ryan was dressed in the same clothing as Pitch, but his cloak was a navy colour. Mask and all. Pitch walks closer to the new judge, and give Ryan a pat on the shoulder. Pitch asks Caitrin to give Ryan a nickname. Caitrin comes up with the name Azul, another word for blue.
Epsiode 7 - The Judge and his Misjudgement Caitrin is bored one day and to keep her entertained, Pitch gives her a violin to play. She somehow knows how to play it. Meanwhile, Pitch is visited by Blanche, the female Judge that made Pitch into a Judge. She warns him that Caitrin's time with him will end soon and that leaves him quite sad. Pitch and Caitrin left the cave to look around for the new soul to Judge. A teen girl was being attacked by some Shadowmen and Pitch saves her. She feels grateful to him and does everything she can to help him, even pushing away Caitrin and being mean to her, which Pitch was not a fan of. He finally sees into the girl's mind and is not surprised to see that she was a bully in her past life. She had a bad home life, and took her pain out on another girl. She died while running away from home and fell into a river on a bad stormy night. After seeing her past, Pitch feels that she didn't quite deserve to go to the Abyss, so he let her pass on to the Oasis. Pitch asks Caitrin to pay him a song on the violin later back in the cave. She agrees and plays a melody she didn't know she could play. That made him fall asleep, and Caitrin gets a blanket to cover him with, not wanting him to get cold.
Episode 8 - The Judge and a Final Farewell Ryan (or Azul, as Caitrin calls him) pays Caitrin and Pitch a visit. As they were talking, the flame in Pitch's cave glows blue, indicating the arrival of a new soul. Azul leaves to go to his own home, saying goodbye to the two of them. The next soul is an elderly lady named Deirdra. Caitrin shows the lady her violin skills and the old woman seems reminiscent when she hears the sound it makes. Pitch goes into the woman's mind and is surprised when he sees the lady with a young girl that looks alot like Caitrin. The two seemed close, then he sees the woman in a hospital bed. He lets the woman go to the Oasis and a bright light engulfs Caitrin. The two hug before Caitrin finally disappears and this leaves Pitch in tears. Blanche congratulates Pitch as he can become an official Judge. She holds Pitch, as he leans against her. She tells him that he and Caitrin will see eachother again, and this makes Pitch feel better. Caitrin wakes up in a hospital bed. Her parents were by her bed side. Caitrin doesn't remember Pitch, or anything she saw in the Afterworld.
