Tulsi Vivah: A Sacred Union Celebrating Divine Love
Tulsi Vivah Katha:
The story of Tulsi’s marriage is steeped in mythology and spirituality. According to Hindu mythology, Tulsi and Vishnu are married on Ekadashi (11th day) of the month of Kartik. The story revolves around the band’s devotion to being cursed and then turned into basil plants. Lord Vishnu in the form of Shaligram then got married, and this divine union is commemorated through the Tulsi Vivah ritual.

There are 2 famous rape incidences in the scriptures.  One is of Vrunda by Vishnu and the other is Ahalya by Indra.
In both, one of the participant becomes a stone.
In the 1st instance, Vishnu, the perpetrator, becomes a stone. In the 2nd, the victim, Ahalya becomes the stone.
Indra rapes Ahalya to satisfy his own carnal desires. Vishnu commits the rape to weaken a danava king who was strong because of his wife.  It could be that her relatives were supporting his rule, making him invincible against his enemies.  Maybe the rape of Vrunda (also called Tulsi) broke the marriage alliances and weakened the king enough for Devas to attack and defeat the danavas.
Vrunda cursed Vishnu for her fall from grace and widowhood that followed.  In the society of that era, widowhood was considered to be the biggest curse for a woman.  It deprived her of all joys in life and reduced her status to a lowly dependent.  Because Vishnu had acted in a cold, stone hearted way to assure the victory of Devas, Vrunda cursed Vishnu to become a stone.  Vishnu being Vishnu, he took the curse calmly and understanding the reason for her anger, married her so that she would not fall from grace and would not have to live out her life as a widow.  Infact, Vishnu declared that Tulsi is his favorite person and no offering to him will be considered complete without an obligatory Tulsi leaf added to it.
Unlike Indra, who abandoned Ahalya after the rape, Vishnu did not abandon Tulsi.  His marriage to Vrunda is celebrated on Prabodhini Ekadashi at the end of Autumn season.
In memory of that incidence, when in ancient times a woman wronged was given full reparation, we still worship Shaligram and Tulsi together.
Maybe that is the main lesson of this lila.

The Divine Marriage of Tulsi and Shaligram: The Eternal Bond of Love and Worship - Once upon a time, there was a girl named 'Vrinda', who later became known as 'Tulsi'. According to ancient stories, Lord Vishnu was destined to marry Vrinda in the form of Shaligram. This belief led to the tradition of Tulsi being married to Shaligram on the Ekadashi day of the Kartik month.
The tale goes like this: Vrinda was married to a powerful demon named Jalandhar, who derived his strength from Lord Shiva's blessings. Jalandhar's power was so great that he had defeated all the other demons and even challenged the authority of the gods. He established his own kingdom ruled by demons.
Vrinda's unwavering devotion to Lord Vishnu made Jalandhar invincible. No one could defeat him because of her dedication. The gods were troubled by Jalandhar's tyranny and sought Lord Vishnu's help. They asked him to find a way to defeat Jalandhar.
It was difficult to break Vrinda's commitment to her husband. So, Lord Vishnu came up with a plan. He took the form of Jalandhar and approached Vrinda. Seeing her husband's form, Vrinda didn't realize that it was Lord Vishnu in disguise. This broke her purity as Jalandhar's wife, weakening his power.
With his powers weakened, Jalandhar was eventually defeated by Lord Shiva. When Vrinda discovered the truth and the illusion created by Lord Vishnu, she became very angry. She cursed Lord Vishnu to turn into a stone called Shaligram.
Witnessing this, the gods and goddesses were filled with fear. Goddess Lakshmi intervened and requested forgiveness from Vrinda. Moved by her plea, Vrinda released Lord Vishnu from the curse and transformed into Sati.
Lord Vishnu named Vrinda as Tulsi and she emerged as the sacred Tulsi plant. Lord Vishnu placed the Shaligram stone next to Tulsi, signifying their eternal bond. He declared that no worship of Lord Vishnu would be complete without Tulsi leaves. Since then, the marriage of Tulsi and Shaligram is celebrated as a divine union during the month of Kartik.
This story highlights the power of devotion, forgiveness, and the significance of Tulsi in Hindu customs and rituals.

Badrinath or Badrinarayana Temple is a Hindu temple committed to Vishnu. It is located withinside the metropolis of Badrinath yatra 2023 in Uttarakhand, India. The temple is likewise one of the 108 Divya Desams committed to Vishnu - holy shrines for Vaishnavas - who's worshipped as Badrinath. It is open for 6 months each yr (among the stop of April and the start of November), due to the fact of intense weather situations withinside the Himalayan location. The temple is positioned in Garhwal hill tracks in Chamoli district alongside the banks of Alaknanda River. It is one of the maximum visited pilgrimage facilities of India, having recorded 2.eight million (28 lakh) visits in only 2 months in 2022.[1]
The photo of the presiding deity worshipped withinside the temple is a 1 ft (0.30 m), the black granite deity of Vishnu withinside the shape of Badrinarayan. The deity is taken into consideration through many Hindus to be certainly considered one among eight svayam vyakta kshetras, or self-manifested deities of Vishnu.[2]
Mata Murti Ka Mela, which commemorates the descent of river Ganges on mom earth, is the maximum outstanding competition celebrated withinside the Badrinath Temple. Although Badrinath is positioned in North India, the pinnacle priest, or Rawal, is historically a Nambudiri Brahmin selected from the South Indian kingdom of Kerala. The temple became protected withinside the Uttar Pradesh kingdom authorities Act No. 30/1948 as Act no. 16,1939, which later got here to be referred to as Shri Badarinath and Shri Kedarnath Mandir Act. The committee nominated through the kingdom authorities administers each the temples and has seventeen individuals on its board.
Devotees on the Badrinath Temple in October 2022
The temple is noted in historical spiritual texts like Vishnu Purana and Skanda Purana. It is glorified withinside the Naalayira Divya Prabandham, an early medieval Tamil canon of the Alvar saints from the 6th–ninth centuries CE.
The temple is positioned in Garhwal hill tracts alongside the banks of the Alaknanda River[3] in Chamoli district in Uttarakhand. The hill tracts are positioned 3,133 m (10,279 ft) above the imply sea level.[4][5] The Nar Parbat mountain is positioned contrary to the temple, whilst the Narayana Parbat is positioned at the back of the Neelkanth peak.[6]
Adi Shankara mounted Badrinath as a pilgrimage web website online withinside the 9th century.The temple has 3 structures: the Garbhagriha (sanctum), the Darshan Mandapa (worship corridor), and Sabha Mandapa (conference corridor).[4][6][7] The conical-fashioned roof of the sanctum, the garbhagriha, is about 15 m (49 ft) tall with a small cupola on top, blanketed with a gold gilt roof.[6][8] The facade is constructed of stone and has arched windows. A vast stairway leads as much as the principle entrance, a tall, arched gateway. Just interior is a mandap, a large, pillared corridor that results in the sanctum, or important shrine place. The partitions and pillars of the corridor are blanketed with difficult carvings.[2]
The important shrine homes the 1 ft (0.30 m) Shaligram (black stone) deity of Badrinarayana, that's housed in a gold cover below a Badri Tree. The deity of Badrinarayana indicates Him keeping a Shankha (conch) and a Chakra (wheel) in of His palms in a lifted posture and the alternative palms resting on His lap in a Yogamudra (Padmasana) posture.[4][7] The sanctum additionally homes snap shots of the god of wealth—Kubera, sage Narada, Uddhava, Nara and Narayana. There are fifteen extra snap shots which might be additionally worshipped across the temple. These consist of that of Lakshmi (the consort of Vishnu), Garuda (the vahana of Narayan), and Navadurga, the manifestation of Durga in 9 distinctive forms. The temple additionally has shrines of Lakshmi Narasimhar and for saints Adi Shankara (CE 788-820), Nar and Narayan, Ghantakarna, Vedanta Desika and Ramanujacharya. All the deities of the temple are fabricated from black stone.[2][4][6]
The Tapt Kund, a set of warm sulphur springs simply under the temple, are taken into consideration to be medicinal; many pilgrims keep in mind it a demand to wash withinside the springs earlier than touring the temple. The springs have a yr-spherical temperature of 55 °C (131 °F), whilst outdoor temperature is usually under 17 °C (63 °F) all yr spherical.[4] The water ponds withinside the temple are referred to as Narad Kund and Surya Kund.
There isn't anyt any historic report approximately the temple, however there may be a point out of the presiding deity Badrinath in Vedic scriptures (c. 1750–500 BCE).[6] According to a few debts, the shrine became worshipped in a few shape withinside the Vedic period. The temple became a Buddhist shrine until the eighth century and Adi Shankara revived the shrine and transformed it to a Hindu temple.[7][10] The structure of the temple comparable to that of a Buddhist vihara (temple) and the brightly painted facade that's odd of Buddhist temples results in the argument.[2] Other debts relate that it became initially mounted as a pilgrimage web website online through Adi Shankara withinside the 9th century. It is thought that Shankara resided withinside the area for 6 years from CE 814 to 820. He resided six months in Badrinath and the relaxation of the yr in Kedarnath. Hindu fans assert that he observed the deity of Badrinath withinside the Alaknanda River and enshrined it in a cave close to the Tapt Kund warm springs.[8][11] A conventional tale asserts that Shankara expelled all of the Buddhists withinside the location with the assist of the Parmar ruler king Kanak Pal. The hereditary successors of the king ruled the temple and endowed villages to satisfy its expenses. The earnings from a fixed of villages at the direction to the temple became used to feed and accommodate pilgrims. The Parmar rulers held the title "Bolanda Badrinath", which means speakme Badrinath. They had different titles, consisting of Shri 108 Basdrishcharyaparayan Garharaj Mahimahendra, Dharmabibhab, and Dharamarakshak Sigamani.[12]
The throne of Badrinath became named after the presiding deity; the king loved ritual obeisance through the devotees earlier than intending to the shrine. The exercise became endured till the past due nineteenth century.[12] During the sixteenth century, the King of Garhwal moved the murti to the existing temple.[8] When the kingdom of Garhwal became divided, the Badrinath temple got here below British rule however the king of Garhwal endured because the chairman of the control committee. The choice of priest is executed after session among Garhwal and Travancore royal families.[12]
The temple has gone through numerous important renovations because of its age and harm through an avalanche. In the seventeenth century, the temple became elevated through the Kings of Garhwal. After large harm throughout the great 1803 Garhwal earthquake, it became in large part rebuilt through the King of Jaipur.[2] It became nonetheless below protection as past due because the 1870s[3] however those had been finished by the point of the First World War.[13] At that time, the metropolis became nonetheless small, which include most effective the 20-bizarre huts housing the temple's staff, however the range of pilgrims became typically among seven and ten thousand.[13] The Kumbha Mela competition held each twelve years raised the range of site visitors to 50,000.[13] The temple additionally loved sales from the rents owed to it through diverse villages bequeathed through diverse rajas.[3]
During 2006, the kingdom authorities introduced the place round Badrinath as a no production region to lessen unlawful encroachment.

The Significance of Tulsi Vivah
Tulsi Vivah commemorates the ceremonial marriage of Tulsi (Holy Basil) with Lord Shaligram, or Amla branch, who represents Lord Vishnu. In Hinduism, the Tulsi Vivah marks the end of the monsoon and the start of the wedding season.
A marriage like no other.
You've probably witnessed a wide range of marriages in your lifetime. But marrying a plant and the Hindu god's second-most powerful deity? That's something to think about. Tulsi is thought to be an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Vishnu's wife. The Tulsi wedding marks the end of the monsoon season and the start of the Hindu wedding season.
Legendary Tales
But how did this one-of-a-kind ritual come to be?
Brinda was the name of a woman. She was a devout follower of Lord Vishnu. She was a very religious woman who was devoted to her husband, the demon king, Jalandhara, who was said to be Lord Shiva's demon son. He was said to be so powerful and evil that he went on a rampage to destroy all the gods and become the King of Asuras. As long as Jalandhar's wife, Brinda, remained faithful to him, there was no way to kill him.
So, in order to destroy Jalandhara, Lord Vishnu assumed the form of Jalandhara and travelled to meet Brinda at the request of the other gods. Brinda was unable to recognise the disguise and spent the night with Lord Vishnu in the disguise of her husband.
Jalandhara was killed after losing the battle with the gods because his wife could no longer protect him. Brinda became extremely upset and enraged upon learning what the Lord had done to her.
Lord Vishnu desired restitution for what he had done to Brinda. This is why he changed her soul into a Tulsi plant. Lord Vishnu also stated that he would marry Brinda in her next birth to atone for his wrongdoing.
Are you also celebrating Tulsi Vivah?, the current situation has separated us from our loved ones. Nonetheless, don't pass up the chance to help your loved ones celebrate their special day.

Pitru Paksha 2021
Every year, the presence of our forefathers on earth takes between 15 and 16 days. It's the time when ancestors rise to the earth to bless their children and descendants. During this time, food and food are available to dogs, cows and crests. The food given to these animals and birds is believed to reach and help our deceased ancestors.
Significance
The importance of Pitru Paksha 2021 as followers was described. We owe a karmic debt to our ancestry, as with the Hindu Puranas. By pursuing all the 'Pind Daan' rules and rituals during Shradh, we are trying to reimburse it. Our 3 preceding generations reside in the world between heaven and earth after being freed from the worlds of life and death. Our ancestors cannot find relief from their physical needs such as hunger, pain, thirst and heat here.
Only the Pooja, carried out on earth by subsequent generations, can relieve and guarantee their entry into the heavens. 'Pind Daan' fulfills our forefathers' unfulfilled wishes. The Raj Tama emerging from her body tracks animals like vultures like vultures, dogs and birds. That's why we offer them food. Thus, the dishes and the food are supposed to be fed to the forebears.
Mythology
Karan's soul was brought to heaven after he died according to Hindu legends. Gold and jewellery were offered there. He didn't receive any food, however. He was hungry and asked Indra why it was offered jewelry and not food to which Indra always gave his ancestors jewelry and flowers but never had any food. Karna replied that he didn't know who his ancestors were because he couldn't feed them. When Lord Indra heard this, he was blessed with 15 days in order to correct his errors. Thus during that period Karan performed Shradh and in the memory of his ancestors donated water and food.
Traditions
Shradh is performed during the rites of Pitru Paksha. The ritual process can vary between people, but it usually takes three steps:
The first step is to give Pind Daan to the ancestors. Pind is just rice balls, usually made with ghee, sweetheart, rice, goats' milk, sugar and sometimes barley.
The second step is known as Tarpan, in which ancestors are offered water mixed with flour, barley, grass and black sesame.
The third and final step in the ceremony is to give the priests of Brahmin food. Devotees should read the scriptural tales.
In addition to the above mentioned procedures the person should avoid certain things while following the rites of Pitru Paksha. For instance, non-vegetarian food should not be eaten during Pitru Paksha, hair should not be cut, tamasic food like garlic, onion, etc. should not be eaten. In this phase, it should also be avoided to start a favorable job like any new project and/or undertaking or purchase a new home or vehicle.
Top places:
According to the Hindu mythology, the Pitru Paksha ritual in 2021 is known in India for keeping the departed souls in peace and being happy.
Bihar Kedarnath, Uttarakhand Badrinath, Uttarakhand Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu Nasik, Maharashtra Kapal mochan Seshambadi, Jaime Nagar, Haryana, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh Prayaga, Uttar Pradezh Gaya, Bibhar Pradesh Gaya.
Mela
In Gaya, the Holy City of Bihar, Pitru Paksha Mela is held as a yearly event attended by people from all over the country for Shradh. This ritual is important as our ancestors are worshiped during this time.
The Pinda Daan ceremony, which is believed to provide our ancestors with salvation and is also a compulsory rite in the Hindu culture, is also called the Shradh ceremony. In general, Pitru Paksha Mela is an annual event that not only appreciates and appreciates the people of Bihar, but also. Gaya is one of the world's most popular sacred places and therefore celebrating Pitru Paksha 2021 Mela is even more holy if done here.
Major attractions
Holy dip
It is incredible to witness people's love for the people who are no longer alive. They carry on with great devotion and love all the rituals of Pitru Paksha including a dip in the pure waters of the Ganga River.
Food offerings
For their ancestors, people offer food. In general, buttermilk, kheer, lentils, gourde yellow, spring bean vegetables and rice are included here. This food is cooked on cups made from dried leaves or banana leaves in copper/silver boxes. It is told that if a crow flies inside and eats the food, the offering is accepted because the bird is considered to be an ancestor's messenger or Yama. Furthermore, priests, a dog and a cow from Brahmin are fed.
Temple worship
The holy city also has numerous ancient temples, which people from all over India worship. In particular, people worship gods during the Pitru Paksha Mela in requesting Sadgati from their ancestors. This is done also to make your stay easy and peaceful in the other world. This is one of the rites of Pitru Paksha, which is carried out with a devoted heart.
Shradh ritual
This ritual includes Pind Daan, where the ancestors are offered pinds. The rituals guide you from your hand when standing on the river. Then, in the form of a stone in the Shaligram Lord Vishnu is worshiped and the God of Death Lord Yama.

Famous Devi Mandir in Nagpur
India is known for its culture, traditions, and festivals. Navratri is one such festival where people gather and worship the goddess Durga and its avatars. They all chant and dance to show their devotion and prayers to the goddess. Garba and dandiya are the dance form which is being played at this festival. Navrati signifies the victory of positivity over negativity. It's a Sanskrit word which means “Nine Nights”. This Festival is being celebrated for nine days and followed by Dussehra or Vijayadashami. The three forms of the Divine Mother are being prayed. They are Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati.
The first three days of Durga signifies the destruction of all immorality and grants blessings. On the first three days, Goddess Shailpurti, Goddess Brahmacharini, and Goddess Chandraganta are worshipped.
The next three days of Lakshmi symbolize spiritual wealth. For the next three days, Goddess Kushmanda, Goddess Skandamata, and goddess Katyayani are worshipped.
The last three days are dedicated to Saraswati signifying wisdom and peace. Last three days, Goddess Kalaratri, Goddess Mahagauri, and Goddess Siddhidharti are worshipped.
Devotees seek the blessings of all three aspects of divine femininity for their happiness, prosperity, and healthy life.
In Nagpur, there are 5 famous temples of Devi Mata. They are:
 1. SHRI MAHALAXMI JAGDAMBA SANSTHAN, KORADI
Koradi was previously known as Jakhapur, and its ruler, Raja Jholan, had seven children: Janoba, Nanoba, Banoba, Bairoba, Khairoba, Agnoba, and Dattasur. The monarch was dissatisfied because he lacked a daughter. He satisfied the gods by doing Yagya, Havan, Puja, and Tapashchrya, and he asked them to bless him as a daughter. A divinely beautiful girl was born.
The monarch sensed Adi Shakti manifesting in the form of his daughter after viewing her for the first time. The heavenly Shakti, who was born as his daughter, had varied encounters with the monarch of Jholan. She had provided him with proper direction, allowing him to make more informed decisions. She'd demonstrated a lot of foresight.
When she was accompanying the monarch in a fight, she had exhibited remarkable justice to both the king and his opponents. The king experienced the almighty Shakti's power once more. As the goddess Shakti, Jakhumai decided to stop at the area where the sun would set on his way back from the conflict. Jakhapur is the name given to such a location (now Koradi). Nobody installed the murti (idol), hence it's thought to be a 'Swayambhu' – materialized one.
A Kund and a Goumukh may be found in the area. A natural stream of refreshing water runs through the property. Rangoli stones can still be found in this location.
Tumblr media
                           2. AGYARAM DEVI MANDIR, GANESHPETH
Agyaram Devi's whole court in Ganeshpeth, known as Nagardevi, will now be lighted with silver in a new form. The lions of Agyaram Devi, who is ensconced in the private temple of silver, are also being carved into the 'Singh Jharokha,' which will add to the grandeur of the court. Devotees would be able to see Mother Goddess Agyaram in eight more incarnations in addition to her.
Singh Jharokha is being built using silver donated by devotees under the supervision of Rajesh Rokade and Sarang Rokade of Rokade Jewellers, according to Shri Agyaram Devi Mandir Trust President and MLA Girish Vyas. In the temple itself, Kolhapur artists Rajaram Bapuso Patil, Pramod Lohar, and Anil Sutar are constructing Singh Jharokha. Singh Jharokha will resemble a bridge. In Nij Mandir, two Gajraj will be put on either side of the silver leaf. Nija Mandir contains 8 pillars, 1 large and 4 little silver domes, 2 large and 4 medium urns, and 19 small urns.
Tumblr media
   3. MAA UMIYA DHAM, NEAR OUTER RING ROAD
The Sati was created by the Shiv element during the creation of the universe. Sati was born in Daksh Prajapati's residence. Lord Shiva was her husband. Daksha planned a large Yagna but did not invite Shiva out of malice. Sati went to her father's Yagna despite not being invited. Sati and Lord Shiva were humiliated once more, and she couldn't take it any longer, so she leaped into the Yagna pyre and embraced fire. Lord Shiva became enraged and began the Tandav, carrying Sati's body on his shoulders. The entire planet shook and trembled in fear. Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshan Chakra to cut Sati's body into 51 pieces to preserve the world, and a Shaktipeeth was formed wherever these pieces fell.
Sati had hoped to marry Lord Shiva in the next birth before falling into the Yagna pyre. Lord Shiva became a hermit after Sati's death. The planet was being terrorized by the Tarkasur demon. He received the boon from Brahmaji that he could only be killed by Shiva's son. Lord Shiva is getting ready to remarry, thanks to the gods. Sati gave birth to her second child at Maina and Himalayas' home and became known as Parvati-Uma. She married Shiva after a long period of intense meditation. Kartik, their son, annihilated Tarkasur.
Umiya Dham is a picnic spot where families, friends can come and spend time together. These days, this place has become famous for weddings too.

   4.    GRUHLAXMI AMBABAI TEMPLE, SEMINARY HILLS
The temple of the mind is peace, and the temple of the heart is love. This is a famous Gede Prama quotation. There is a feeling that wherever one worships in the world, he or she will find tranquility. This is a fact that no one can deny. Gruhlaxami Ambabai Temple in Nagpur is one such serene location. Nagpur, popularly known as the "Orange City," is famed for its sacred and spiritual sites. Where one can spend quality time with family and friends while simultaneously seeking spiritual fulfillment. Ambabai temple is one of Nagpur's most well-known temples.
This temple has a long and illustrious history. The origin of this idol was discovered around the year 1756. It was discovered in Warora during some farming activities. Shaligram is used to create Gruhlaxami Ambabai's main idol. In the year 2015, on Chaitra Suddha Ashtami, Friday, in Nagpur, a duplicate of an idol was placed. The idol is Kul devra of the Khot Family. The Khot Family's 13th generation continues to adorn the deity in the same way that their forefathers did, with all of the same rites.
Gods such as Mahabali Hanuman, Shri Gruheshwara (Shiva), Shri Prachand Kaali, Shri Kaal Bhairava, Shri Mangal Chandi Devi, and Shri Shani Deva have their abodes at this temple.
This temple is located in the Seminary Hills area. At this location, one can enjoy
the beauty of nature while simultaneously seeking the goddess's graces.
Tumblr media
       5.    BHAWANI MATA MANDIR, PARDI
Shri Bhavani Mata Mandir is located 10 kilometers east of Nagpur, in Pardi village on the Punapur road. This ancient and largest temple is historically significant, and it is stated that Mataji's idol is swayambhu (self-evolved) and performs marvels for followers.

Tulsi vivah at home. Marriage sacred basil with ammonite fossil represents the union of Tulsi with Vishnu. Today i am using a combination of one of the first pichois we made along with our latest creation for this celebration.
Lesson of Tulsi Vivah
There are 2 famous rape incidences in Hindu scriptures.
