#she can swim but it's the mental block from being stuck on a flimsy sailboat for Hours in a storm#like no that isn't Really how her family died but being out there with them??#almost getting washed off the boat from the waves and storm??#it super fucked her up mentally#i haven't talked about it a lot because it's definitely one of the darker moments tbh#(just wait until i do a breakdown of her forty eight hours in the labyrinth)#anyway i think athene is sympathetic and i think she has her moments where she does the right thing and is “good”#and she can be cute and sweet and fun and easy to empathize with#she was put in a lot of impossible situations where her choice to survive meant she had do really really fucked up things#but she is not a good person and she has a very frayed sense of morality#this was supposed to be a funny haha post jfdklhgasdf
