Sometimes my housemates like to catch sneaky photos of me doing diabetes things. I think it just must be so weird to them to see me go through all this diabetes stuff. They knew me for a year with out diabetes but then suddenly they were there with me when I was diagnosed and in the past year and a half they have been with me every step of the way while I have been learning about how diabetes impacts my body and life. But since they don’t have diabetes they just live with a diabetic it’s a very different perspective. It’s not something they are constantly aware of like I am but it is something that makes an appearance in daily activities when we hang out and impacts their lives in a big way. They’ve had to bring me to doctors appointments, blood work and help me through some of my roughest highs and lows.
