Bugsnax on brain so i have 2 games stuck in my brain rn so heres some guys you may remember

Sheprey concepts! They’re a ghost!

They were a friend of Bronica’s, but they passed naturally (drowning) so the Bugsnax weren’t the one to get ‘em. Leaving their ghost to be free! They’re around to try and warn others about the dangers - however you cannot automatically just see them. It takes a lot of time and encounters to see them. And they cannot speak to you verbally. (They can, only if they’re at the full last stage of being visible - but it’s still hard to make some words out.)

They’re bound to Snacktooth island and hope that they can be freed one day. (To either continue to protect others or to finally rest peacefully. If any more people come to Snacktooth - they’ll probably stay around to warn them as well if they don’t follow Triffy around.)

Since they knew Bronica they’re very close to Triffy and are quite protective of her! She’s the first one they want to appear to and communicate with as they used to know her when alive. 

(They were way younger than Bronica when they both went on the expedition together, but they still got to meet baby Triffy before they went. They’ve been haunting Snacktooth for quite a while.) (They were in their mid-thirties or so when they died.)

Like Bronica, they’re also an archeologist! They were really enthusiastic about their work. Someone might’ve even called them too sickly optimistic. That is, once you get to know them. They’re a bit of a goody-two shoes and are shy meeting new people, but they’re very out-going with the people they love and trust. They prefer following orders and having a set plan rather than taking too many risks.

Bronica was like their teacher and mentor! She would teach them a lot of things, and eventually they became very close friends. Of course they would say yes when offered to go to Snacktooth! Fatal mistake.

They have two forms they can alternate between, but it doesn’t affect how visible they may be to the others. They can choose to dissapear to someone - but if someone only sees them as a vague ghostly sillouette that drips water, that’s how they’ll see them even if they choose to be a fully visible and life-like (but floating) to someone who can already see them fully. It’s difficult to explain, but if you had my thought process you’d probably understand it better,,,

Basically, it depends on each living individual how they are seen to them. They could be shouting at someone behind their back and they wouldn’t even be seen or felt if that Grumpus has had 0 encounters with them before. One thing that can do that affects everyone is vanishing to them fully.

One sign of them being near is them dripping water! If one spot for long enough a puddle of water will form - one that’s visible to the living. This helps with speeding up the process of them being able to be seen by a certain Grumpus.

Long story short, they start with vague encounters, this slowly progresses ‘till they’re fully visible and represent themselves how they looked hen they were alive to a T. If they never want to appear, that’s an option too - but usually they try their best to be visible right away so that they can warn others of the dangers of Bugsnax.

That’s it with the lore for now, enjoy this and the shitpost I have for now ‘till I get better drawings and a proper ref for them. SOME Design aspects may change, remember that! But this is the overall idea they have. I will probably keep most of it like it is, though

Made some stickers of my Grumpus OCs!! They're mostly traced over except for each character's distinct feature just so I could keep them as accurate to the game's style as possible!

Sheprey has stickers of themselvess when alive and when as a ghost!

I even made my own brush for this in SAI lol, not too hard since half of the brush textures/shapes there are "hair" brushes
