The Bard and the Hero

🎀Dahlia wasn’t sure how she had ended up in this colourful and darkened world, but she would do her best to adapt. The first thing she had noticed was that her clothes had changed. She was wearing a blouse with loose poofy sleeves, a dark blue corset was fastened around her waist; she had a frilly black till train that flowed from her waist and white loose pants that tucked into dark blue boots that had ribbons wrapping up to her knees. Her usual turquoise hair had been changed to a deep midnight blue that was put up in a bun and tied with a long white ribbon.

While wandering this world, she had come across many strange and unique creatures. They had all been relatively friendly, and had even met an interesting and dramatic lord. He had been kind enough to take her in and train her, however things had begun to change and the monsters of the Dark World had begun to get a bit more aggressive... something was happening, something was changing. Rouxls, her Guardian and mentor told her that she would need to be careful as The King’s mind had been infected by a Knight... but that two Heroes of Light would come and save them all.

It had been a year since Rouxls had told her about the Heroes of Light, she had been hiding out in the Forest when she heard something. It didn’t sound like the usual Rudinns on patrol... it sounded like... a person. Carefully taking her lute off her back, even though she didn’t like carrying it; it was necessary for her so she could use her attacks in this world. She peeked out behind one of the trees when she spotted the other, her eyes widening in surprise- He was-! Human? Did that make him...? She glanced around to make sure none of the King’s servants were around and made her way over slowly.

12. is your muse compassionate?

    Certainly. Lots of people may mistaken them as cold and uncaring because of their withdrawn nature and difficulty emoting, but their withdrawn nature has always been because of anxiety, introversion, and everything else but coldness or aloofness.

     Kris has a big heart, but they’re a bit too afraid to let people know that they wear it on their sleeve more than they let on.

“I-I know it’s maybe a little much but, ah, I really... you looked really good in that armor in the Dark World so I figured...” he began, soft paws fidgeting with his own scarf as he tried to hide himself behind it.

In a neatly wrapped box sat a shawl meant to replicate the draping fabric Kris had worn in the Dark World, along with a dark blue robe with black hearts all around it. It was definitely hand-made... or rather paw-made, given the nearby mostly used scraps of fabric that littered the guest room. 

Now the prince was nervous. What if they didn’t like it? He should have asked first but Ralsei wanted to surprise his friend with a gift!

It was no secret that Kris found a lot of people very, very attractive, especially when it came to alts (therapists hate them!), and they do so love to tease. So when presented with the opportunity, they could hardly pass it up.

Wordlessly, the tug the other closer, a coy little smile on their lips as they inch ever closer to their mouth. At the last second, though, they switch direction and lay a surprisingly sweet kiss to their jawline.

And then they’re pulling away, grinning wickedly despite the light flush to their own cheeks.

Blink, blink. An awkward quiet falls between them at the question, the look of surprise being the only answer to it for a while… before, eventually, being overtaken by a very determined (and somewhat peeved) expression.

“OF COURSE WE WOULD!” The very loudly and proudly proclaimed answer is accompanied by a stomp of a hoof for emphasis; jeeze, must’ve really struck a cord to get her to act all riled up over it. Friendship does that for her.

“What kind of question even is that?You could go live on the moon for all I care, I’d still find a way to send you gifts and text you to go to sleep at reasonable times! And I’d still expect you to text me memes at 2am and hide under my bed to scare me during Halloween!”

🎀The two of them were resting after a long day of fighting as well as evading the King’s troops. Both were bloodied, injured and exhausted, but Dahlia was quite sure she could handle staying up to keep watch since she had managed to mend some of her wounds with her spells. But both of them were still in a rather rough state. 

She couldn’t help but remember the colour of his eyes when he had let her patch up his face, they were so vibrant and bright. They could feel a bit of heat rising in their cheeks before they shook their head. She looked at the other in surprise when he put a hand on her shoulder. He owed her? He didn’t owe her anything at least in her opinion. She was doing what she simply thought had been best.

                              “You owe me...? Owe me for what?”
