On July 14, India faced Zimbabwe in the sixth T20I at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. After winning the toss, Zimbabwe chose to bowl first.Yashasvi Jaiswal fell after two balls, but he continued the game where he left off with two maximums. Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma scored 13 and 14, respectively, after that. India was back in the match as Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag put together a 65-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
Parag chipped in with 22 off 24 and Samson struck 58 off 45. Shivam Dube made an instant impact with 26 off of 12 before being run out. In his brief appearance, Rinku Singh scored an undefeated 11 off of 9, helping India score a respectable 167 while taking six wickets in the process. While Sikandar Raza, Richard Ngarava, and Brandon Mavuta each claimed one wicket, Blessing Muzarbani claimed two.

"Love To Look At Things In Positive Manner": Sanju Samson Ahead Of ICC T20 WC 2024 Opener
Ahead of their opener against Ireland in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson said that he positively looks at things while reflecting on failures and successes in his career.
Samson, who made his international debut in 2014 in a T20I match, has had ups and downs, having played just 25 T20Is and 16 ODIs for India over the last decade.
His T20 stats have been disappointing as he has scored just 374 runs at an average of 18.70 with one half-century. a strike rate of 133.09 and the best score of 77.
Samson has made his way into the T20 WC squad after a career-best Indian Premier League (IPL) which helped take Rajasthan Royals (RR) to the playoffs. He scored 531 runs at an average of 48.27 and a strike rate of 153.46, with five half-centuries. His best score was 86*.
The Kerala-born cricketer asserted that at the time when a cricketer is young and successful, he tries to skip a few lessons.
"I love to look at things in a more positive manner. If it's a failure or setback, you learn through it. When you are young and successful, you skip a few lessons. I am blessed with my talent, which comes naturally to me as a batter" Samson said in a video posted by BCCI.
The 29-year-old further stated that right from the moment he arrived in the United States, he had taken out all the things regarding Indian Premier which is in his mind.
"Right from the moment I landed here, IPL has been away from my mind. I tell myself that I am somewhere where people dream of going. Then I was like, what else do I need to do? Mentally I did not have to motivate myself. Things happen automatically. When you meet Rohit and Virat, you get inspired and there is no looking back. How can Sanju help India win more games, what it is like to be a WC player for India? I am very grateful for the support wherever I go," the wicketkeeper added.
In the end, Samson said that he loves to change and adapt according to the conditions.
"The biggest lesson as a cricketer and human is that the change is constant. You cannot say that this is the only way to play. I love to change and adapt as per conditions. You can't be the same Sanju Samson," the right-hand batter concluded.
India will start their T20 World Cup campaign on June 5 against Ireland at the newly constructed Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
The blockbuster clash between India and Pakistan will take place on June 9. India will later play tournament co-hosts USA (June 12) and Canada (June 15) to wrap up their Group A matches.
In the tournament, India will be aiming to end their ICC trophy drought, having last won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. Since then, India has reached the 50-over World Cup final in 2023, semifinal in 2015 and 2019, the title clash of the ICC World Test Championship in 2021 and 2023, T20 WC final in 2014, semifinals in 2016 and 2022 but failed to secure a big ICC trophy.
India squad: Rohit Sharma (C), Hardik Pandya (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sanju Samson (WK), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. SirajReserves: Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.

IPL 2024: Faf Du Plessis Blamed Top-order Batting Collapse After Loss Against CSK
Tumblr media
Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Faf du Plessis blamed top-order batting fault after a tough defeat in their opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against the seasoned Chennai Super Kings. The match, held on Friday saw RCB faltering after a promising start, eventually succumbing to a 6-wicket loss against Ruturaj Gaikwad's determined CSK side. The toss favoured RCB, who opted to bat first, hoping to set a formidable target. However, their aspirations were dampened early on as Mustafizur Rahman's double strike in the fifth over of the powerplay shattered their top order. Despite the setback, RCB managed to stitch together a modest total of 173 runs, largely due to a resilient 95-run partnership between Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik. Faf du Plessis, the captain of RCB, lamented the loss of wickets in the crucial initial overs, acknowledging that it put them on the backfoot for the rest of the game. He highlighted the importance of consolidating the innings after the early blows, emphasizing that RCB fell short by about 15 to 20 runs on the challenging Chennai pitch. “When you play here, you feel like you have to almost get ahead of the game a little bit in the first six hours overs because Chennai is a very good team there in the middle. They have done it for so many years where they squeeze you with spinners. So unfortunately, we lost a little bit too many wickets in the first seven overs, which meant that the guys needed to bat a little bit and stable the innings again. I felt like we were 15 or 20 runs short on the pitch,” Faf du Plessis said after the match. Even with Cameron Green and Virat Kohli contributing decently, their dismissals inside the 12th over intensified RCB's struggle. However, Rawat and Karthik's commendable partnership injected hope into the team, albeit momentarily. Faf conceded that despite their efforts, the total was never going to be enough against a formidable opponent like CSK. “Yeah, Look, we're always a little bit behind, as I said, in terms of trying to get ahead of the game. you know, they were batting at a pace where they're always still in front of the game. Even though it was we were pulling it back, Uh, we were trying to somehow find some opportunities to get wickets, and obviously with Dube he was not really comfortable with the short ball. So just trying to expose to try and get some wickets through the middle overs. But at the end we were short of runs,” Faf added. In the second innings, RCB attempted to mount a comeback by resorting to a barrage of short-pitched deliveries against CSK's middle-order batsman, Shivam Dube. However, the strategy failed to yield desired results, as CSK's batters skillfully maneuvered their way towards the target, maintaining a comfortable pace throughout. Faf ruefully reflected on the unsuccessful execution of their plans, acknowledging that their tactics did not quite pan out as anticipated on the dry Chennai track. Despite their best efforts, RCB found themselves outplayed by CSK's clinical performance. “If you look at the stats, it’s still in favor of batting first. It looked on the drier side. Some of the spinners got purchase as the ball held a bit. Against Dube, we went to our seamers but it didn’t worked out,” Faf said after the game. With the defeat behind them, RCB now sets their sights on their next challenge as they prepare to face Punjab Kings at their home ground, the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, on Monday, March 25. MI vs CSK Prediction- Who Will Win Today’s IPL Match Between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, IPL 2022, Match 33
Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians will face Ravindra Jadeja’s Chennai Super Kings tonight. The two most prestigious and widely followed franchises in the IPL are undoubtedly MI and CSK. While MI have won five titles, CSK have lifted the trophy on four occasions. Until last season, this was the match to watch out for. The 32nd match of the league will be played on 21st April at 7:30 PM IST, in DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai.
Pitch Report
This venue has proved to be the toughest amongst all for batting. The bowlers have found a way to trouble the batters. But the pitches do help the batters when the dew sets in. Both teams don’t have the strength in the bowling department like they used to until last season. So, either team would struggle defending a total. Therefore, the team batting second would be the favourite to win.
Playing 11 of MI vs CSK
MI     11 squad –  Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk),     Dewald Brevis, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Kieron Pollard, Tim David,     Jaydev Unadkat, Murugan Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Tymal Mills
CSK     11 squad - Robin Uthappa,     Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja     (c), MS Dhoni (wk), Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorius/Adam Milne, Maheesh     Theekshana, Mukesh Choudhary
Match Prediction
The past glory is nowhere to be found for either team this year. CSK have won only one out of their six games. They are lying at the penultimate position on the points table. MI have even worse stats as they are without a win in six games and are languishing at the bottom. MI continues to chop and change in search of their maiden victory this season. They brought in the spinner Fabien Allen for the last game. A loss in that match means we could see more amendments in the playing XI.
Conclusion
As per the form of the two teams, this is the best chance for either team to earn points as other teams seem to have an upper hand over them this year. Due to a hammering that Chris Jordan received in the last game against Gujarat Titans, he could find his way out of the XI. CSK might look at options like Adam Milne or Dwaine Pretorius.
Winning prediction goes to Mumbai Indians.

New Post has been published on https://jordarnews.in/kxip-vs-rcb-live-score-ipl-2020-chahal-strikes-as-kings-xi-punjab-lose-agarwal-after-a-good-start-cricket-news/
KXIP vs RCB Live Score, IPL 2020: Chahal strikes as Kings XI Punjab lose Agarwal after a good start | Cricket News
KXIP vs RCB: Live Blog | Live Scorecard 7 overs: OUT! Yuzvendra Chahal cleans up Mayank Agarwal for 26. KXIP 57/1 BOWLED! Agarwal missed the ball completely and it castled into his stumps. Bowling change worked for RCB as Chahal provided a big breakthrough. * Introduction of spin: Yuzvendra Chahal comes into the attack 6 overs: KXIP 50/0 Mayank Agarwal (25*) hit another four, this time through covers off Navdeep Saini as he brought up fifty-run opening stand with KL Rahul (23*) for Punjab. Good, solid start for them. 5 overs: KXIP 41/0 8 runs from the second over of Dale Steyn. But the good news for Punjab is that the openers are scoring boundaries in every over. In this one, Mayank Agarwal (20*) pulled one to the mid-wicket boundary. STATS ALERT: KL Rahul today became the fastest to score 2000 runs in IPL, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record.
2000 IPL runs for @klrahul11 👏👏#Dream11IPL https://t.co/9lvByyYlqX
— IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) 1600956274000
4 overs: KXIP 33/0 Decent start from Navdeep Saini, gave away 7 runs in it. But it included a stunning shot from KL Rahul through deep extra cover for a four. * Bowling change: Navdeep Saini comes into the attack 3 overs: KXIP 26/0 Another boundaries-laced over for Punjab as Mayank Agarwal (13*) opened his boundary count with two fours in three balls off Umesh Yadav — an inside out over extra cover and a clipped through mid-wicket. Good start for Punjab openers. 2 overs: KXIP 17/0 Good recovery from Dale Steyn as he ended the over with two dot balls after conceding back-to-back fours to KL Rahul. 1.4 overs: FOURS! 4, 4 – KL Rahul (13*) smacks back-to-back boundaries off Dale Steyn. KXIP 17/0 * Dale Steyn to share the new ball with Umesh Yadav 1 over: KXIP 8/0 Till the fifth ball, Umesh Yadav was bowling a tidy line and gave away just 4 runs. But he strayed down the line to KL Rahul (5) with the final delivery and the Punjab skipper flicked it fine for a boundary. HERE WE GO… KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal to start the KXIP innings. Umesh Yadav with the ball for RCB. Playing XIs: Royal Challengers Bangalore: Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli (c), AB de Villiers, Shivam Dube, Josh Philippe (w), Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, Umesh Yadav, Dale Steyn, Yuzvendra Chahal Kings XI Punjab: KL Rahul (w/c), Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, Nicholas Pooran, Glenn Maxwell, Sarfaraz Khan, James Neesham, Mohammed Shami, Murugan Ashwin, Sheldon Cottrell, Ravi Bishnoi RCB’s Dale Steyn:“The body is feeling good. It’s a plus that you don’t have to get on the plane the next day. Nice to get the first one (game) out of the way. Haven’t played competitive cricket for a while now. Nobody has. Looking to get better as the tournament progresses. I think the nice thing about playing how long as I have is that I know how I can operate. I can work on slower balls and yorkers. Anytime you’re playing on a new surface, there will be something different. The batters will want to take some time to get set. I must say that the first game I saw the guys bowl (in Dubai), I was pretty excited.” What captains had said after the toss: KL Rahul:“There were a lot of positives and it was the first game. Mayank’s batting and our team’s fight was heartening. Jordan and Gowtham aren’t playing, Murugan Ashwin and Neesham come in. Chris Gayle will come in at the right time, don’t worry about it. It was tough sitting at home and so we are grateful to get this opportunity to play. The guys are enjoying themselves despite the rustiness in the first game.” Virat Kohli:“It’s a fresh wicket. There’s a bit of dew in the second half and when the ball gets wet it’s hard to execute. That’s been a big factor. We have done really well defending a total less than 170 and seeing the bowlers execute their plans so well. We are unchanged for today’s game.” TOSS | Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli wins toss, opts to bowl against Kings XI Punjab
#RCB have won the toss and will bowl first in Match 6 of #Dream11IPL.#KXIPvRCB https://t.co/pjq7tuZpDA
— IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) 1600954669000
Pitch Report: Kevin Pietersen reckoned that it would be prudent to chase in Dubai tonight, given the much longer boundaries than Sharjah, given the tackiness/dryness of the pitch first up, and which will possibly flatten out later in the night with all the moisture and dew for the team batting second. * Toss at 7 pm IST and the match will start at 7:30 pm IST. Hello and welcome to the live coverage of Match No. 6 of the Indian Premier League 2020 between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Dubai. We start the day with shocking news of the sudden death of former Australia batsman and cricket commentator Dean Jones, who had been covering the Indian Premier League from Mumbai. India Predicted XI for 1st T20I against Sri Lanka - Tough calls stare at Virat Kohli in Guwahati - cricket
Tumblr media
India will take on Sri Lanka in their first match of the New Year at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday. This three T20I series – the Virat Kohli led side will travel to Indore and Pune after the first T20I - will also mark the beginning of both India and Sri Lanka’s preparations for the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.India are coming into this contest on the back of T20I series victories against Bangladesh and West Indies respectively and they will be hopeful of a similar level of performances against Sri Lanka. The ‘Men in Blue’ hold an impressive record against Sri Lanka and they will look to preserve that stat in the upcoming series. 4 players - Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Shami who were part of India’s XI in the last T20I against West Indies, are not in the T20I side against Sri Lanka. Here is India’s Predicted XI for the first T20I against Sri LankaShikhar DhawanThe left-hander returns to the Indian side after an injury lay-off which kept him away from T20I and ODIs against West Indies. Dhawan recently hasn’t been among runs and in 2019 managed to score just 272 runs in 12 innings at an average of 22.66 with a strike rate of 110.56. With Rohit Sharma rested for this three-match T20I series the onus will be on him to give India a solid start. Also Read: Virat Kohli 1 run away from massive T20I record in 1st T20I against Sri LankaKL RahulThe West Indies limited overs series was sort of redemption for KL Rahul. In Dhawan’s absence, Rahul not only built solid partnerships with Rohit at the top but also notched up scores of 62, 11, 91 in three T20Is with a strike rate of over 130. Knowing that he will have to fight for the 2nd opener’s slot with Dhawan when Rohit returns, Rahul will look to carry on the good work in the T20Is against Sri Lanka.Virat KohliVirat Kohli was in outstanding form in the T20Is against West Indies. He had scores of 94* - his best in the shortest format of the game – 19 and 70* in his last 3 T20Is. Kohli will also have an eye on becoming the highest run-scorer in T20Is when India face Sri Lanka in the first T20I. Shreyas IyerIt appears that the arrival of Shreyas Iyer has once and for all settled the No.4 debate. The Mumbai captain did not have the best of times in the recently concluded series against West Indies but before that he was only second to Rohit and Kohli as far as run-scoring is concerned for India in limited overs cricket. Iyer will aim to start off 2020 on the right note against Sri Lanka on Sunday. Also Read: No posters, banners allowed during India vs Sri Lanka 1st T20I in GuwahatiRishabh PantRishabh Pant somehow or the other manages to grab the eyeballs. The talented wicket-keeper batsman had scores of 33*, 18 and 0 in the three T20Is against West Indies but turned it around in the ODIs with scores of 71, 39 and 0. But talking point throughout the series was not his batting. It was his dodgy work behind the stumps that kept the critics buzzing. With Sanju Samson also in the side and the T20 World Cup knocking on the doors, Pant will not like to let go of this opportunity of scoring and keeping well. Shivam DubeIn his short international career of 6 T20Is and a solitary ODI, Dube has got the opportunity to bat on 5 occasions. But only two times he had more than 5 overs at his disposal and he made sure to show the world a glimpse of his six-hitting abilities in one of those by tonking the ball over the ropes 4 times in his 30-ball 54-run inning in the 2nd T20I against West Indies. In that innings, Dube was promoted to bat at No.3. It will be interesting to see if Virat Kohli once again takes that chance in the first T20I against Sri Lanka.Ravindra JadejaIn Hardik Pandya’s absence, Jadeja has emerged as the go-to all-rounder for Kohli. His improvements with the bat and ability to keep a tab on run-scoring with the ball make him a certainty in the playing XI. Add his agility and fielding in the mix, he is a sort of cricketer that every captain would want in his side.Washington SundarIn the 2nd T20I against West Indies when all other Indian bowlers struggled to contain the big-hitting Lendl Simmons and Nicholas Pooran, Sundar went for only 26 runs in his 4 overs. His ability to bowl economically in the powerplay is an added advantage. Being a finger spinner he also has edge over Chahal and Kuldeep especially in conditions where dew is likely to play a key role.WATCH: Bumrah announces return with a bang, smashes stumps with a screamerYuzvendra ChahalYuzvendra ChahalThe choice between Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav will always be a difficult one for India. But considering the impressive numbers of Chahal in the last 12 months, leaving him out is never going to be an option for India particularly in the first match of the series.Jasprit BumrahA fit-again Jasprit Bumrah is set to return to action in the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. India’s premier fast bowler had been out of action ever since the West Indies tour in August-September last year because of an injury. He showed a glimpse of lethal bowling in India’s first practice session of 2020 on Friday by knocking the stumps down with a deadly Yorker.Navdeep SainiNavdeep Saini is fit and ready. With there being no timeline attached to Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar’s return, Saini has an ideal opportunity to stake his claim in the side in the three T20Is against Sri Lanka.India vs Sri Lanka series full squadsIndia T20I squad for Sri Lanka series : Virat Kohli (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant (wk), Shivam Dube, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini and Washington Sundar.Sri Lanka T20I squad for India series: Lasith Malinga (captain), Danushka Gunathilaka, Avishka Fernando, Angelo Mathews, Dasun Shanaka, Kusal Perera, Niroshan Dickwella, Dhananjaya de Silva, Isuru Udana, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Oshada Fernando, Wanindu Hasaranga, Lahiru Kumara, Kusal Mendis, Lakshan Sandakan and Kasun Rajitha. CAPTAINS’ TAKE:
Virat Kohli (INDIA) I reckon (we would have bowled). Looks like a nice track, it’s pretty hard, nice grass cover, the weather might have a say in the second innings, but toss isn’t in our control. Just put a clinical performance, carry forward the momentum and grab the chances that comes. Don’t worry about too many changes, just go out there and do the job. No changes once again, the boys did a good job with both bat and ball, no need to make any changes at all. Kane Williamson (NEW ZEALAND) We will bowl first. A new surface, hopefully, we will get something from it. Need to follow our plans, we are playing a strong side, a new ground, a new surface, do the job with the ball. One change, Scott Kuggeleijn is in, for Blair Tickner. Both offer pretty much the same, both bowl heavy balls, perhaps, Scott is a bit better batsman.
A toss win for Kane Williamson and we will bowl at Seddon Park in T20I 3. #NZvIND https://t.co/1UzfnUWD1Z
