<blockquote> <p><strong>short plot can be found <a href="http://hawkinsofficial.tumblr.com/shortplot">here!</a></strong></p> </blockquote> <p><strong>the cold war</strong> had brought lots of suspicion and untrustworthiness to america. the united states wanted to try and get two steps ahead of russia so the cia had started doing a secret operation which is now known as project <em><strong>mkultra</strong></em>. what took place during the time of mkulra was something gruesome and despicable. they would perform tests on humans; depriving them of food and sleep all while giving them psychedelic drugs along with abuse them both mentally and physically. the goal in this was to try and see if they could give the subjects mind controlling abilities but, of course, they failed.</p> <p>or, at least, that’s what the rest of the world thinks…</p> <p><strong>hawkins, indiana</strong> was a quiet, small town and there wasn’t much trouble except for the usual incident every now and then. little did the population of hawkins know; there was a secret laboratory hidden in the woods. this laboratory was one of the many that would conduct experiments associated with mkultra. one woman in specific, terry ives, was a pregnant college student around the time when she was put up for experimenting. while she was being tested on she was given a series of drugs and deprived of her senses and due to this she had a miscarriage in her third trimester. well, that’s what her and her sister were told at least. the head scientist at the time, dr. brenner, had kidnapped her child so he could perform tests on it as well. terry was planning to name her “jane ives” but, after she was taken from the womb she was branded as “011” (the laboratory’s eleventh experiment) and the tests began.</p> <p><strong>011</strong> was put through psychokinetic training. she was able to do wondrous things with her mind such as control things with her mind (telekinesis), and when put in a sensory deprivation tank was able to eavesdrop on people by just seeing a picture of them. in november of 1983, when 011 was 12, she’d gone into the deprivation tank and found some sort of creature. the next day she was told to make contact with this creature and when she did a “gate” had opened up.</p> <p><strong>the creature</strong>, later labelled “the demogorgon” from the famous game dungeons and dragons played in stranger things, was then released into the world from a place known as the upside down(the “gate” that had been opened up). the upside down was basically the creature’s home and it’s still very difficult to describe. everything in this universe is upside down, hence the name. everything in this dimension is dark and cold; devoid of human life. there are root like tendrils and membranes that cover up about everything and any regular human that goes in should wear a mask, preventing spores from entering their bodies. the creature feeds off of humans and other unknown substances as information on it is and was very limited.</p> <p>unlike in the popular show “stranger things”, hawkins laboratory was unable to find a way to prevent the upside down “gate” from opening up any further.</p> <p><strong>once the cold war ended</strong> (1991) the lab had killed what experiments were still alive and focused on trying shut the gate, succeeding only a little. after that the lab had nothing to put their focus on so they decided to put their focus on something else. in 1994 their focus on was on an entertainment industry, except the entertainment would go much deeper than the people they’ve signed with them.for future wars they started experimenting on people that worked for them, including big stars. demogorgons would take a few other people away. no one grew suspicious of the lab either and if anything was said there was no proof to back them up or there was a representative to write a quick news article shutting it down and since more recent times when social media became a thing there was a socal media representative.</p> <blockquote> <p><strong>now you’re signed to hawkins entertainment and have no idea about previous things that have happened in the past. there have been rumors of things such as mkultra being started back up by them but they’re just conspiracy theories as of now. but, lucky for you, you’re about to find out if it’s true or not.</strong></p> </blockquote>
