Aren’t these blue delphiniums absolutely breathtaking? Delphiniums are some of my favorite flowers but they are close to impossible to grow here in Austin. Larkspur is an alternative but, of course, it is much less showy. I have never seen delphiniums grown so beautifully anywhere else than in England where this photo was taken. Gardeners there often go through the labor intensive process of staking each flower stalk individually because the blooms break easily in strong winds and heavy rains. Are any of you my dear followers growing delphiniums? What is your experience with them? One more day to go and then it is the weekend, again. I hope you are having a wonderful one. I definitely plan to be out in the garden. There is lots to do in the moment. One job I urgently need to tackle is pruning our two big white flowering crepe myrtles.
