I can't speak or read Thai but I used to wonder about Thai loopless font designers always making ร and ธ look almost identical because wouldn't that hinder legibility but I remembered that Latin type designers are just cool with lowercase L and uppercase i looking exactly the same, and also that I specifically can't talk because I write like this (ID in alt)

#i forget that writing e like a reverse 3 is weird till i write something in not block capitals and other people are like what letter is this #side note but the way ข becomes a square root symbol is why learning handwriting + stroke order is so important with non latin scripts #the typographic variants only make sense of you know the handwriting it was based on. waiting for n'ko to take off so we can get weird fonts #linguistics hobbyist
