Kara Ref: DD3 Width is approx 8.3mm Thickness from inner side of Chakri to the edge of Chakri is approx. 12.3mm Weight Approx 110-155g (Variable due to size) Handmade design - therefore each kara is a Unique design Please note these Pure Sarbloh Kara are very hard to find and is a customised design exclusive to OnlineKaraStore  These karas are from the Holy City of Amritsar (Golden Temple/Darbar Sahib).  KARA Size is the internal diameter of Karas measured in CMs.  There may be little bit rust present which is seen commonly in all SARBLOH KARAS due to purity of the metal/wrought iron. Cuts, dings and scruff Mark's may present as these kara are hand made and transported in Jumble in Jute bags. However, our kara will be near to perfection as we get these manufactured on demand and use bubble wraps to transport these.  Please read below more Information about Sikh Kara:  A kara (Punjabi: ਕੜਾ (Gurmukhi), کڑا (Shahmukhi) कड़ा (Devanagari)), is a steel or iron (sarb loh) bracelet, worn by all initiated Sikhs. It is one of the five kakars or 5Ks — external articles of faith — that identify a Sikh as dedicated to their religious order. The kara was instituted by the tenth Sikh guru Gobind Singh at the Baisakhi Amrit Sanskar in 1699. Guru Gobind Singh Ji explained:  He does not recognise anyone else except me, not even the bestowal of charities, performance of merciful acts, austerities and restraint on pilgrim-stations; the perfect light of the Lord illuminates his heart, then consider him as the immaculate Khalsa.  The kara is to constantly remind the Sikh disciple to do God's work, a constant reminder of the Sikh's mission on this earth and that he or she must carry out righteous and true deeds and actions, keeping with the advice given by the Guru. The Kara is a symbol of unbreakable attachment and commitment to God. It is in the shape of a circle which has no beginning and no end, like the eternal nature of God. It is also a symbol of the Sikh brotherhood. As the Sikhs' holy text the Guru Granth Sahib says "In the tenth month, you were made into a human being, O my merchant friend, and you were given your allotted time to perform good deeds." Similarly, Bhagat Kabir reminds the Sikh to always keep one's consciousness with God: "With your hands and feet, do all your work, but let your consciousness remain with the Immaculate Lord." The basic kara is a simple unadorned steel bracelet, but other forms exist. It was historically used like a knuckle-dusterfor hand-to-hand combat. Battlefield variations include kara with spikes or sharp edges. Sikh soldiers of the British Indian army would settle disputes by competing in a form of boxing known as loh-musti (lit. iron fist) with a kara on one hand.  PLEASE NOTE: Please measure/check size of your kara/bracelet first while ordering to avoid any hassle or posting it back to us and paying extra for p&p for exchange and swap of karas with other desired sizes.  There will be charge of £5 p&p towards exchange/swap of Kara for any size issues for UK buyers and £12 p&p for international buyers that needs to be paid by PayPal in advance or interested buyer can send us pa repaid self addressed envelope for any exchange/swap along with the original item in its original packaging and buyer should also return us the gift item/bags sent along with the item for appreciation of purchase. We may post back gift items/bags along with the swapped item.  P.S. Colour of item may slightly vary due to camera flash and light conditions. Some Karas may have negligible small black grinding mark on the kara joint. This is always seen on all karas as most of the Kara making/shaping work is done by hands. However, this do not affect the quality/look of Kara. #Kara #KaraforLife #SikhKara #SarblohKara #Sarbloh #5Ks #SinghKara #SikhBracelet #KhalsaKada #Kada #SinghisKing Brilliant finish and very decorative. Stunning Diamonte Silver Plated Indian OMPoppy Hindu British India Brooch Pin Stunning Diamonte Silver Plated Hindu Poppy Brooch Cake Pin
The Forgotten Heroes
Hindus are commonly distinguished as weak so therefore poor soldiers, yet they had been involved in fighting wars for others more than themselves. Among the first foreign forces were Hindus to fight for British on the Western front. In the war, India had hugely supported the British in most areas, these including: Politically, economically and also in military. At a time when majority of Indians were suffering from poverty and malnourishment, they gifted 100 million pounds for them to participate and strengthen the British in war. The support was in exchange also for the British’s understanding in giving India independence, which the British were in no hurry to fulfil. In total, approximately 1,338, 620 Hindus participated in the war. This number easily totals the number of army force from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa by 178,000. Hindu soldiers were involved in lands as diverse as, Palestine, France, Syria and Mesopotamia. Some historians say that it was the Hindu army which changed the course of the war by turning German soldiers at Marne. Hundreds of Thousands of Hindu soldiers lost their lives and no hero’s welcome awaited the survivors.
In the first World War, the Indian corps won 13,000 medals and 12 Victoria crosses and this is something that deserves broad recognition around the globe.
It was Indian jawans (junior soldiers) who stopped the German advance at Ypres in the autumn of 1914, soon after the war broke out, while the British were still recruiting and training their own forces. Hundreds were killed in a gallant but futile engagement at Neuve Chappelle. More than 1,000 of them died at Gallipoli, thanks to Churchill's folly. Nearly 700,000 Indian sepoys (infantry privates) fought in Mesopotamia against the Ottoman Empire, Germany's ally, many of them Indian Muslims taking up arms against their co-religionists in defence of the British Empire.
The most painful experiences were those of soldiers fighting in the trenches of Europe. Letters sent by Indian soldiers in France and Belgium to their family members in their villages back home speak an evocative language of cultural dislocation and tragedy. "The shells are pouring like rain in the monsoon," declared one. "The corpses cover the country, like sheaves of harvested corn," wrote another.
These men were undoubtedly heroes - pitchforked into battle in unfamiliar lands, in harsh and cold climatic conditions they were neither used to nor prepared for, fighting an enemy of whom they had no knowledge, risking their lives every day for little more than pride. Yet they were destined to remain largely unknown once the war was over: neglected by the British, for whom they fought, and ignored by their own country, from which they came.
We made this Poppy OM Brooch to commemorate the sacrifice of all Hindu Soldiers who participated and sacrificed their lives in both World War I and II.

The Forgotten Heroes
Allah Poppy Brooch to commemorate the sacrifices of all Muslim soldiers who participated, got injured and sacrificed their lives in both World War I and II.
More than 400,000 Muslims fought in the trenches of WWI and still, their sacrifices and deaths are hardly recognised across the globe. With other comrades from the Middle East and India, this part of the world provided more soldiers for the war than most of the other regions who fought against German forces combined. Many of the Muslim soldiers were on the frontline fighting directly against Germans on the Western Front playing a critical role in strengthening the British in the war.
The name that stands out from all the other Muslim soldiers is of Khudadad Khan. He was part of the 129th Duke of Connaught’s Own Baluchi’s regiment and this heroic figure was born in the Jhelum District which is now in the Potohar area of Pakistan. Khudadad was one of the first Muslims to be awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest rank and status a soldier could earn. Khan’s regiment came directly into action in 1914 at the very beginning of the war in Belgium. The Baluchi regiment - which Khudadad Khan was in - supported the struggling British forces. The German’s heavily outnumbered the two Balochi squads and they invaded them although they fought bravely. Khan ran a machine gun unit whilst the other was destroyed by a bomb attack from the Germans. Khan’s bravery and determination delayed the German breakthrough. Outnumbered, Khan’s machine gunners were all overrun and all killed. Khan suffered several injuries and he was left for dead. Badly injured Khan was able to crawl back to his fellow soldiers under the shade of the dark night. Unfortunately, he died that very night.
We made this Poppy Allah Brooch to commemorate the sacrifice of all Muslim soldiers who Participated, injured and sacrificed their lives in both World Wars.
The idea of making this brooch came from the fact that I asked out of curiosity to my muslim friend (Pakistan origin) that if he knows how many muslim people participated and sacrificed their lives in world wars. He’s very devoted muslim and his answer surprised me when he said may be 1000 or 4000. Then, we did research and was even shocked more to find that figures were far more than our estimation. Then, we thought there should be something that every muslim should wear to pay their tributes to these unknown heroes of the World Wars. This is our small effort to remember all these brave soldiers.
We look forward for your suggestions and advice.

It is, however, easy to make a positive case for this sophisticated piece of jewelry. It is, after all, more versatile than any other jewelry item. Brooches can be used the standard way: as an accessory to fashion. But that is by no means their only use. They can also be used on clothing accessories as well as in the hair. Purchase one or more brooches, if they are not readily on hand. Use the brooch on clothing. Attach a brooch to the high neckline of a blouse, dress or jacket. Use one or more brooches (in a cluster) on the lapel of a suit jacket or place one or more on the shoulder of a jacket or dress. Pin several small brooches over the buttons of a blouse or dress to liven up the clothing or show off a collection. Try using smaller pins as a substitute for cuff links on a blouse by just pinning the brooch over the cuff's button. Hook a brooch through a “magna pin.” This converts the brooch to a magnetic closure, thereby doing away with the need to stick the pin part of the brooch into fabrics that could otherwise be damaged by the process. This makes it simple to use the brooch on heavy fabrics like boiled wool, suede or leather. Utilize the brooch to help securely attach an accessory to clothing such as a scarf, a shawl or a shrug. Attach a brooch to a hat to feminize it or give it a touch of pizzazz. Pin one or more brooches onto a handbag or clutch to convert a daytime look to evening chic. Use a magna pin for heavier fabrics, suedes and leathers. Convert a brooch to a pendant by attaching it directly to a thick necklace chain, omega or collar. Hook a pin over a string of beads or double them up, pulling them together around the neck. Close with a brooch to create a unique choker. Use a pin converter to turn a brooch into a standard necklace pendant. Turn a brooch into a piece of hair jewelry. Attach a pin to a headband. Using wire or thread, attach a brooch to a hair comb or barrette. Run the pin of a brooch through the elastic of a ponytail holder for a top knot accent piece. Attach a brooch directly to the hair (or a wig). Good use on Indian Sarees, suits, dresses and dupattas etc. Used to tie and decorate wedding/parties chair clothes on the back of chairs. Excellent to decorate Christmas presents and gifts. It can either be used on the top of invitation cards/letters for wedding parties, birthday perties, evening parties or casual invitations. This will certainily give a posh look to your invitations. It can be used for the decoration of Wedding, Birthday and Anniversary Cakes. If you know any other use of brooches please let us know and we will share these ideas with our previliged customers. Stunning Diamonte Gold Plated AllahPoppy Muslim Islam British India Brooch Pin Stunning Diamonte Gold Plated Islamic Muslim Allah Poppy Brooch Cake Pin

Email us at A or text/call 07883024604 for further information. Please do let us know about any special requests about wrapping these brooches while ordering. Use of Brooches: Brooches, once a mainstay of every woman’s wardrobe, now come and go for many in the same manner as other jewelry trends.
