RvB Fusion AU? Caboose and Grif becoming like a fun lazy guy, Tucker and Kai becoming THE sex-crave fusion, Sarge and Carolina becoming the most competitive fighter ever, etc.

Oh man... there have been a lot of fun RVB Fusion AU scenarios people have come up with through the years... I think Kai and Tucker fused would weirdly sort of balance both their two extreme flirty attitudes, and they are somehow SUPREMELY charismatic in an effortless way (like, they aren't even TRYING to flirt with anybody, and don't even notice all the heart-eyes. they're also really funny and giggly and affectionate, but in a relaxed way). Caboose and Grif fusion is super chill, but also? They have all of Caboose's weird, reality-bending concepts, and Grif's gift with words, so they're just there being all philosophical, possibly unlocking the secrets of the universe. Carolina and Sarge is BEYOND competitive (and has the same attitude of Aqua from Brave and the Bold; very valiant and enjoys the thrill of battle! unless you tick them off, then it is just. a massacre).

Church and Caboose fusion is a fun one, because Church has to like... come to terms with "loving himself", not in a false-bravado/ego-trip way, but actually having good self-esteem? They also freely share how much they love everybody else, but still has Church's potty-mouth. Everybody thought they should worry about a Tex and Carolina fusion, but again, they are just sort of balanced out somehow? Simmons and Church fusions is sooooooooo smug. Any fusion with Doc means they also have O'Malley in there... Kai and Doc genuinely have a lot of fun fused, and the result is a such a subtle smart-mouth sense of humor, enhanced by O'Malley being their "anger translator". Donut and Simmons fused is sort of a mess... all of Simmons' anxiety makes Donut ACUTELY aware of his own insecurities, and they just keep over-apologizing for everything. Wash always thinks he won't "mix well" with somebody when fused, and it is true that a fusion with him will like- just start crying at some point, because it is like having an internal conversation where one gives the other a chance to open up. Yeah, even Sarge. In fact, Sarge and Wash seems to have all the serious/professionalism of both, but will just give out very deeply emotional compliments to the others, said with a calm matter-of-fact tone. Kai and Carolina is TERROR, just full-on rebel, with the muscle to back it up. Tucker and Donut is the most prettiest and flamboyant fusion.

caboose carries simmons bridal style briefly in one of my fics. wasn’t a simmboose (or whatever the ship name is) fic but i’d like to add it to this vibes moodboard.

S- SimmBoose thoughts...  (Another big thanks to @fanvsfic for picking up Rare Pair Week)

-Sarge is on the mechanical war path and refuses to have anyone work with him, so Simmons is left to work by himself. Except Caboose is there too, because he wanted to show the Red Sargent his work too.

So now the Blue rookie is working on stuff next to Simmons, because no one at Blue base can sleep through the noise like Grif can. And Simmons just, accepts this because, really, could his day get any worse than working with the enemy?

And nothing bad happens. They only talk to swap tools or for different parts, and they both have semi-productive days. So over the next few days, the same thing happens, and Simmons stops being so on edge about being around a Blue. 

And Simmons can’t help it when he just starts ranting one day after dealing with Grif in the morning. He doesn’t expect any response, but when Caboose offers sympathy Simmons is kinda taken aback. Caboose mentions how annoying Tucker is, and while the situation he talks about is a little nonsensical, Simmons is grateful for not just being blown off or ignored.  

The two end up continuing work together, at first just sharing their gripes about team mates or VS life, until suddenly they’re talking about each others projects and offering suggestions and feedback. And they make a bunch of random crap that actually works (Like a heat sensing coffee machine or a cow brush except its a buffer Lopez or Sheila can use to get those hard to reach places.)

And then comes the physical aspect. They receive a compliment for their work, and in the joy of celebration Caboose wraps Simmons into a hug and Simmons freezes. He doesn’t remember the last time he’s gotten physical affection (more than playful shoulder bumps with Grif or Donut) so he just splutters and pushes away. But Caboose keeps hugging him anytime things go right, and without exactly realising it, Simmons keeps trying harder and harder to get those moments. 

Except team shenanigans happen and they miss out on work time together, and it dawns on Simmons that he misses that affection. So when he can, he works hard on something to impress someone/anyone. And he starts to burn himself out because nothing is working. And finally Caboose is allowed to come around again and-

Caboose: “Aww, you’ve been making stuff without me?”  Simmons: “Y-yeah. What do you think?” Caboose: “Hmm... it’s a thing?”

And Simmons kicks himself because he did terrible and not even Caboose is interested and he’ll never get a hug again because hes so stupi-

And then he’s being hugged.

“Let’s make stuff together again, that will cheer you up!”

And they spend the rest of the day pressed against each others sides while working, and for now its enough for Simmons.

Caboose is excited about the cybernetic limbs while simmons is just like “holy shit buff????” also lets all just pray that the cybernetics survive this fusion lmao.

Also a bizarre love square with Simmons, Donut and Tucker vying for Caboose’s attention. (oh and non-binary Donut and Tucker because I can)

I have. Never thought of simmboose before? But now? I am starting to really like this and I’m getting the same tickle in the back of my brain that says, “oh hey look my next rare pair to cry over” and honestly? Thank you. Those kind of ships keep me alive because I can make so many new aus for them. Fuck while writing this I got that same tickle for Doboose. Thank you.

YAY! I’m so happy?! That I’ve planted that little idea of SimmBoose in you head?! Like rare pairs are my jam and open up so many new ideas. Cry away my friend with the knowledge I cry too.
