First Week Back At School!

The little ones went back to school on Monday and honestly its been such a busy week I haven’t had time to sit down and do this post before now. But now the week is over and the kids are in bed I have some time.

I always get out of sync during the holidays and when school starts back again its like a shock to the system. I was expecting a real struggle on Monday morning but I was pleasantly surprised when three of my four school age kids were cooperative. Even Milena didn’t need as much persuading to get out of bed as usual. And amazingly we were all ready to leave at ten past 8! This meant we could have a relaxing, brisk walk up to school. And when we got there the three eldest called out a goodbye as they shot off to join their friends. Harley did have a bit of a sulk at the door of his nursery classroom and said he wanted to stay with me. But he did eventually go off to play and when I picked him up his teachers said he was fine once I was gone.

Milena has started year 5, which means she has just two years of primary school left before she’s off to high school. Evelyn and JJ are in year 4 and Harley is nursery. He goes 5 mornings a week now, which is good for him because he likes playing and learning. When he turns four he can either start full time school, which is reception in the UK, in January, which is the springterm. But we don’t know if we’ll do that or wait until the summer term.

After the first week back at school we’re all exhausted and enjoying a relaxing weekend before school starts again on monday.

Angelia waited till she got the others to bed before stepping in Logan’s room. “Hey Logi bear all ready for bed” Logan nodded his head and climbed in the bed waiting to be tucked in. Angelia took a deep breath and sat on the bed making sure Logan had his stuffed animals near. “Mommy I ask Santa for gift today” Logan gave her a wide grin. “Oh can mommy know what you asked or is it a secret?” Logan reached under his pillow and pulled a picture out.

There staring at Angelia was Benjamin holding a younger Logan. Her heart dropped as she looked at her son. “Sweetie Mom..Mommy has to talk to you about daddy” Logan didn’t like the sound of that and frowned. Angelia scooped Logan in her lap “Baby..Daddy um he’s going to be away from you for a long time” Logan looked at his mother confused “Long time?” Angelia closed her eyes “Yeah we..won’t be seeing daddy again he..he went bye bye” Angelia’s voice choked up at the end. Logan shook his head “No mommy daddy come back” Angelia chuckled “I wish he would but I’m so sorry buddy daddy can’t come back to us so we have to say goodbye okay” it was silent for a few as Logan started to tear up “Daddy’s gone mommy?” Angelia nodded kissing his head “yeah he’s gone..”

So What is IMG?

IMG is a sims 3 model rp hosted and based in Discord. It features a tiered system for your model to work their way through as they reach new heights in the industry and their careers. Your characters will do this by featuring in fashion ads, editorials and spreads for brands, photographers and magazines (all of which you will create).

What Kind of Sims Can Join?

IMG is open to sims of any size, color, sex, gender or height. The only stipulations are that they must be created using The Sims 3 and they must be in a realistic style, meaning no supernatural or berry sims.

If you are interested, please keep reading. We understand that this is a long post, but please read it carefully.

Submission qualification guide: This is a Sims 3 RP! We are aiming for realism, so we will not accept berry or supernatural sims. Please give your model’s full name, their age, eye color, the hair color your model currently has in their submission photos, their height, their shoe size, their body measurements in chest, waist and hips, and the IMG office they are representing (If you do not understand how to come up with body measurements please see this post and if you still have questions feel free to contact us). The main IMG office is located in New York City but there are also offices located in the cities of Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Paris and Milan. Once you submit wait for your confirmation from an administrator (you will receive a discord link the day prior to launch.) Once you are registered (in the Discord) take a look around and get acquainted with the rules and details of the server, talk to each other and feel free to ask us questions.

Submission Photos: Submission photos should be taken in a well-lit area with a white, light grey or light beige background. Clothing, should be plain and close fitting but not skin-tight with shirt colors for women being either white, grey, black or beige. Men will submit a shirtless photo. Bottoms can be khakis or jeans. Models can either be barefoot or women can wear simple heels and men can wear simple loafers or dress shoes in one of the above listed colors.

Headshot photos: They should be taken from the shoulders or collarbone up with your model in a casual, neutral expression and minimal hair in the face. That means no hair covering the eyes or other features. However, hair framing the face is fine (see examples here).

Bodyshot photos: They should be of the full body of your model. Please do not cut off any part of the head or feet. The pose should be as straight on as possible, not a side view shot. A ¾’s view works but the point is to see the model’s whole body, not just the side of it.

Model Type: What type of model are you submitting? Are you a part-time model that does modelling as a side job? Are you looking to be a super-model? A you a more small time editorial model wanting to work your way up? Do you want to stay a small time model?

Where to Submit: Please submit your headshots, bodyshots and application (outlined below) through this blog’s submission box or as an IM to any of the administrators (blogs linked above). Once your submission is posted, feel free to reblog it.

Adopting Noelle

Shortly after getting married we decided to try for a baby. After a year nothing had happened so we went to see the doctor, who confirmed my endometriosis was making it difficult to conceive. So two months later I underwent surgery to remove the tissue. After the surgery we continued to try to conceive, with little luck. Then after six months of trying I discovered I was pregnant. We were both overjoyed, we couldn’t wait to be parents. Our joy didn’t last long, just six weeks into the pregnancy, I suffered a miscarriage. We were both devastated, we both wanted this baby so much.

Over the next year we continued to try to conceive, with little success.  We were told that due me having endometriosis, I was much more likely to miscarry.

We underwent a round of IVF. To our delight we learned it had worked and I was pregnant once more. We didn’t dare get excited though , we were both so nervous. I managed to make it to eight weeks this time, and I felt a little glimmer of hope. I had a scan and the sonographer had some news for us; there were two heartbeats. We were going to have twins. We couldn’t believe it, it was amazing but we still refused to let ourselves get excited. Then, just two weeks later I started bleeding heavily. The doctor confirmed that I had miscarried both babies. I was distraught, we both were. I just felt so confused. How could some people get pregnant so easily and we had to try so hard and got nothing. It just didn’t seem fair.

After the second miscarriage we decided to stop trying to get pregnant and took a break from all of that. We took a holiday and refreshed ourselves. It helped so much just taking that break. After a while we started talking about our options. We considered surrogacy and IVF, both of which are expensive. Then we thought about adoption and about how there were many babies out there needing homes. So we decided to contact an adoption agency and start the process to adopt.

It was a long process. We had to go to preparation classes, which discuss many things including how the adoption will affect you. We had several visits to check we were suitable and of course police checks. We also had to undergo a full medical examination as well. After three months of silence we were finally told we were eligible to adopt. We didn’t know if we wanted to adopt a newborn, a toddler or an older child. But we did know, we know the child for us the moment we met them. It wasn’t too long before our social worker was in contact. She explained that there was a young mother, Melissa, who was seven months pregnant and had decided to give her baby girl up for adoption. She was only a teenager and sadly had a lot of problems. We agreed to meet Melissa and it was, sadly, obvious she had a few issues. But she seemed like she knew what she was doing. She said she wanted her baby to have a good life and to be loved and she couldn’t give her that. A few days after the meeting we received a call from our case worker who said Melissa had chosen us to adopt her baby. Excited, we decorated the nursery and filled with everything we’d need for a newborn.

Two months later Melissa went into labour and gave birth to a baby girl. However, she suddenly decided to be awkward and said she wanted to keep the baby. So for a week we didn’t see her. We were heartbroken, we had gotten so excited about bringing this little girl into our lives, to love and cherish. It was like she was stabbing a knife through our hearts. When the little girl was a week old, we got a call from our case worker who said Melissa had finally decided she did want to give her little girl, who she’d named Effie, up. Finally we got to meet our beautiful baby girl. She had black curls, tiny fingers and a tiny button nose. She was perfect. The first time I held her I felt the most powerful rush of love I’d ever felt. I knew I never wanted to let her go.

We signed the adoption papers and Melissa said it was OK to change her name. We hadn’t actually really thought of names, so it took us a few days to settle on a name. And at three weeks she was officially Noelle Layla.

Bringing Noelle home was the most amazing, surreal experience. She settled in so quick and I have loved every single moment. She is just a perfect little girl, I couldn’t imagine our lives without her. We’re so grateful that she came into our lives. We’re so grateful to Melissa for giving us a perfect daughter. And we wouldn’t change her for the world.
