Welcome to Serf City!
In the Simsteros world, the peasants that work for the castle all live together in a nearby village called Serf City. After all, every good monarchy needs some good serfs.
We have three main homes for the proverbial serfs. The main guard and his apprentice son, the royal teacher and his sister, a religious leader, and the farmer with her maid wife and apprentice daughter.
They do so much for the kingdom, so they are more wealthy than the average peasant, but they also go through a lot of shit. But I love all their houses so much, just as much as the people in them <3
Well, at least I do. Dunno about the monarchy.
PS: I created this for my Game of Thrones Legacy challenge so that’s fun. I have no self-control and need an adult but it’s fun.

I love this little village so much so I hope you do, too <3

The Forgotten Village
Tumblr media
In Simsteros, the furthest village in the kingdom is the Forgotten Village, protected by the Forgotten Lady of Light herself. A vindictive and wildly inconsistent goddess, most people just assume she is a god of yore. However, the people of the Forgotten Village know better. Well, they didn’t, not really, not until the town drunk cursed their statue of lady and next morning there was a bottomless pit in his house and he was gone.
To say the village hasn’t been the same is an... understatement.
Tumblr media
In this troubled village, the first hovel belongs to Joan, the local scholar. Joan normally keeps to herself and has few friends, but she does take a liking to the idealistic plant-lover that moved in next door. Even with her around, though, Joan would rather keep her nose in her books than get involved in local politics. But will her feelings for her new neighbor push her to take a stand?

(Trust, the skull’s more intimidated by her)
Tumblr media
Next door is the new apothecary, Annabelle. She’s new to town and missed the whole “Lady of Light’s smiting pit” thing. Annabelle, more than anything, believes in plants and science. She doesn’t really like Otto Forge’s iron fist on the town, his selfish money-grubbing, nor his family’s elitism. Their ability to have a child isn’t special to her, and she’s half willing to impregnate herself to prove a point. That, or feed his obnoxious face to her cowplant. No Lady of Light would get in the way of her settling down in a peaceful village and living happily ever after.

Across the way is the town chef, Baker. (the pun of his name is not lost on him). While Baker doesn’t like Otto’s behavior much either, he just likes having a place to himself and is far more dedicated to his family home and legacy than stirring up trouble. Anyway, the red eyes scare him. And he’s spent too much time in an oven to ever feel comfortable threatening the Lady of Light. Though he can be passive, he does admire and even kinda have a crush on the boldest little gardener who comes to his door every morning for fresh bread.

Before Annabelle even knew the Forgotten Village existed, another resident lived in that other cottage next to Baker. His name was Ebram and he spit right in the face of the Lady of Light. Bold, and even a bit impressive in the face of Otto’s mild tyranny. But then a pit opened up beneath his house, the Forge’s suddenly became pregnant with their son, and nothing’s been the same ever since.

Center of the village is the infamous home of the Forges. Otto, Penelope, and their son, Damian, treat the village like their personal playground. Otto sits on the village treasury like its his birthright and his house is adorned with golden statues and airs of Light worship. Penelope forces the entire village to watch her play violin (terribly) and Damian always manages to show up right when you least expect him, with that knowing, eerie smile. The locals hesitate to call their devotion a cult, but that’s only because they don’t want to be next on Otto’s crazed chopping block.

And so the Forgotten Village sits, on the edge of Simsteros, the proverbial Wild West under shambled rule. Will a new monarchy rise up and take care of them, with the Lady of Light officially reappear and take her rightful place as protector and goddess, or will a different hero change the village for the better?
(If you ask Annabelle, it’s the third one)

The Red Keep Tavern
Tumblr media
For the hardworking people of Simsteros, nowhere is a better place to unwind than the Red Keep Tavern. Named after a castle of old, this watering hole gives locals the beer they need, the grub that warms their bellies, and beds for any weary travelers.
Owned by the Bard boyfriend himself, Wyatt, this bar brings the best of Simsteros to the table. Sure, that still means damp floors and and seething disappointment, but the locals seem to love it.

At the Red Keep Tavern, meet your true love or your greatest enemy. Listen to the latest lute music. Start a bar fight, even, that might just end in the whole place burning down horrifically. The possibilities are all up to you

Welcome to my Medieval Church!
As anyone who ends up on my simming blog knows, I have a whole thing here about building “Simsteros” for a GoT Legacy challenge. So on that note, here’s the kingdom’s little church (a more non-denominational one, not a scary Lord/Lady of light one).
