I'm pretty alright!! Somehow I've developed the ability to have a normal sleep schedule for once in my life?? Who knew being awake during the day was so good for mental health?? Not me lol!!

Anw to be fair we really have no indication of how familiars would work in the om universe?? I don't really recall any mention of them beyond that one conversation with Satan, so I say they get to be whatever the hell we want them to be!!

A rat??? Eeeeeeeeee!!! That's so cute!! And it helping her with her art??? Love it love it love it!! Somehow a rat fits so well for her too?? Also just, I love smaller animals with these kinds of things because you can just skfjdk carry them in your pockets y'know skdkdk

A cat really fits with her aesthetic but yeah, Satan calling them kitten just isn't it lol. And a raven!! Gah, it's such an aesthetic, but Mammon would be so annoying about it. Like to have corvids in common with Dola?? He's not gonna shut up about it oml!!

I don't actually know anything about daemons or His Dark Materials so I think I will have to be looking into that later. But I guess with familiars I was thinking more along the lines of a companion and guide/mentor?? Maybe with the added bonus of increasing your magic (like how MC can do for the bros?) ((Not that MC needs a boost)). Or maybe familiars could act as intermediaries between spirits and the like??

And,, okok maybe this is a bit cringe but I do love the idea of familiars as like your animal soulmate?? Or maybe less,, predetermined?? than soulmates but along those sort of lines.. uhh,,,,,,

Anyway!! If not Dola, maybe you could give your Sorcerer's Society OCs familiars?? It feels sort of weird that they're canon but none of the characters have one y'know???

And speaking of weird canon things,, the way they just did not develop the ring of light at all?? It's Lucifer's ring and we're only using it to make sure MC doesn't passively destroy the 3 worlds?? It must be able to do much more than that, right?? So I do love that you hc that it can allow the wearer to communicate with animals!!

dhfkjdfhg I'm so jealous!! But also so happy for you!! Being able to just Be during the day is so surprisingly and unexpectedly good for your health. It's probably the sun? and also everything and everyone else is up during the day so it doesn't feel as alone... Might also be just the vitamin D lmao

And true! I feel like they're fair game since apparently the Little Ds are Diavolo's familiars? So I guess we can do whatever we want since MC can do anything and those two mentions of familiars leave a lot free to talk about

And yes honestly!! I love the idea of either little portable pocket sized creatures as familiars or ridiculously huge ones >.< Thinking about her carrying the rat around as well as Barbatos repellent since there's no way she'll be allowed in the castle with her rat familiar around. Which works well for her and her longstanding grudge against Diavolo and Barbatos >w<

I dunno if you've looked into how daemons work for that series by now but basically they're like... Animal manifestations of your inner self? They shapeshift into whatever animal when you're a kid then eventually settle into a final form when you're older. You can also feel whatever happens to them + it's genuinely physically painful to be away from them and stuff... My knowledge is a little vague since it's actually been a good decade since I read any of those books >.> But yeah! Those are pretty good ideas, though I'm not sure about them being a power-up thing for the familiar-haver... As someone who doesn't like that MC is ridiculously powerful (at least, right off the bat) >.> I like to think that instead, a bit of your magic goes into the animal to give them their special skills? Like they gotta gain something from being your familiar, right?

I feel like I get what you mean! Then perhaps the compatibility and deep trust is what helps bind them to be your familiar? I don't think it'd be good if you can just force any interesting animal you want to be bound to you like that...

And oooh yeah actually! It'd be interesting if Aiden had a familiar considering her job... And the young sorcerer who wants an apprenticeship under Dola would be cute with one too... Perhaps a little puppy... Or Husky lmao

And yeah!! Honestly like... I kinda get it since MC can already do a lot but it'd be nice to it elaborated upon what happens if MC's without it for long, what abilities it grants to its wearer, what happens if its near the Ring of Wisdom and what the differences are (with the former being partly me indulging my DolaSol ideas but shh) and like... Idk when MC showed up in that fake illusionary Celestial Realm, I was really hoping for the illusionary angel!Brothers and Lucifer to notice it??? Say something? "How and why do you have Lucifer's ring???" Same with when Solomon's food sent them back in time >.> No mention at all...

Anyway!! I did have fun with my friends (+ we ate so much food and drank way too much coffee) and lately I've been sleeping way too much actually >.> Hopefully you've managed to keep up your new better sleep sched!
